Chapter fifty four: Connecting the dots

Choi Han fell asleep that night and he dreamt of some event that happened in the past. It was the time when he hadn't regressed and was still suffering from his despair. He was tired yet he pursued the enemy in hopes he could end all of their evil acts. The death of his second family drove him into seeking revenge. He dreamt of hurting the old Cale Henituse, he remembered how bloodied his hands were when he had beaten him up.

Choi Han never once regretted his actions back then. He believed the redhead deserved it. Years passed, the kingdom was devastated from war and attacks of the organization. All the deaths of the people and his soldiers made him sink down to his despair even more. There, he met the redhead he once beat up.

Cale enlisted as a soldier that time. Choi Han saw the once pompous and arrogant noble now become a man filled with despair as well. That one fateful day, the war in the Rowoon Kingdom took his only family and Cale inherited the title of his father. Even then, Cale decided to join the army. Choi Han didn't know why, was it for revenge or on a whim. Choi Han was still mad at the redhead who insulted his precious family.

Later on, Choi Han managed to get to know Cale better. They didn't converse that much but Choi Han was good at observing his surroundings. He saw how the supposed to be trashy redhead cared for his people. Although Cale wasn't as strong as him, he had at least the wits in battle.

The memories locked inside Choi Han's head suddenly opened like a treasure chest. It was a memory after he killed off the White Star. He remembered Cale putting him to sleep. He didn't know how much time passed that time. He still remembered the words Cale spoke to him while he was asleep.

Cale's voice changed and it sounded like a teenager's voice. He kept telling him his adventures while Choi Han was asleep. He told him how amazing the world would be if it wasn't ruined. How the world would actually look if people were still alive. He also told him how much he regretted not reaching out to his family. How much he regretted not being able to express what he truly wanted to say and do.

Cale also apologized to him in his sleep. Even though he insulted the people of Harris Village, he told him how he wanted to befriend Choi Han. the black-haired hero then wondered how much the redhead had seen. The two would've been friends if they met in different circumstances. Now, Choi Han wondered who Cale lost this time as well.

Ugh, I am already old yet I still acted like a child, Choi Han thought. I should've listened to him first. Experiencing everything for the second time around hurt me, I guess I haven't really improved since we regressed.

He couldn't remain dumb and stubborn Choi Han like he was before. Their lives were at stake so he needed his wits that got developed through the war during his first timeline. He couldn't stay mad at Cale Henituse seeing how much he had changed.

The Cale Henituse he once knew was completely different. It was like his personality took a 360° turn.

Is this the real him? The him before he decided to become trash? Choi Han thought. He'll just ask him next time.

Now that his mind was clear, everything that happened made sense. Seeing how Cale had the graces of the dragons meant he also probably saved the black dragon who was supposed to die from his hands.

In addition, there were no deaths from the Plaza Terror Incident due to the involvement of several dragons then the cooperation of the Whale Tribe. Cale was certainly on good terms with them as well. Right now, Choi Han wondered how long Cale has been preparing for this.

Somehow, Choi Han was in a good mood. Though Cale and him were on bad terms during their first timeline, there's no harm in getting to know him more in this life. The redhead was certainly strong but his defenses were so ... poor. He didn't know why, was it confidence? Or does he not care? Choi Han didn't know.

As soon as Choi Han entered the Henituse estate, the knights and servants were frantic.

Did something happen? Choi Han asked as he frowned. The first thing that came to his mind was Cale.

Choi Han ran towards Cale's room when he bumped into the red dragon.

"What happened?" Choi Han asked. The look on the red dragon's face contained fear.

"Cale's gone," Youna answered. The black-haired hero frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"He's gone! I couldn't find him. My connection with him disappeared!" Youna raised his voice.

"What?" Choi Han muttered. Where the hell did he go?

Choi Han went to Cale's bedroom to look for some clues. However, all he found was the redhead's blanket on the floor and an opened window.

Cale told me before when he was a kid, his ability sometimes activates when he's asleep. But where did he go so that his red dragon couldn't sense his presence? Choi Han thought.

The black-haired hero went downstairs where the people who adored the redhead were gathering trying to find clues where to find him. The golden and green dragons also arrived upon learning of Cale's disappearance.

The dragons could feel the elementals buzzing around them. Nobody could understand what they were saying or doing. Youna immediately knew something was wrong.

"I'm going to look for someone who could understand these flies," Youna said and he teleported away.

"As I thought, we really should chain him down," Eruhaben sighed.

"Haha, if you do that, Cale will hate you," Olienne responded.

"I'm sorry, Gramps. We shouldn't have left him alone last night," Raon said in a mellow voice.

"I suddenly feel bad for his family," Olienne muttered but was heard enough by the extraordinary people present.

Cale's parents and siblings looked so exhausted searching for a family member.

After a while, Youna along with the Crown Prince and Tasha appeared. Tasha immediately noticed the grim atmosphere then she heard the elementals talking. She more or less knew what happened because of the red dragon.

Just how many forces does the Young Master have? Tasha couldn't help but wonder.

"What are the elementals saying?" Youna asked. Tasha nodded as she listened to the elementals.

"The masked man took me to a place I am not familiar with," Tasha started.

"The masked man?" Violan asked.

Choi Han knew who the masked man was. He was shocked hearing this as he clenched on his scabbard.

"The masked man chained me so I couldn't use my ability. He is suspecting me, that's why I might stay here for a little while," Tasha continued.

"I am alright. The masked man will never hurt me. I will look for ways to escape this place. Do not ever look for me," Tasha added then the elementals became quiet once again.

"We can't let him stay on that man's side for a long time," Choi Han muttered but everyone heard him.

"Do you know who the masked man is?" Alver asked. Choi Han looked at him then he lowered his head.

"He is the leader of the organization we are investigating," Choi Han answered.

"What?! You already know the identity of our enemy yet you didn't mention it?" Alver exclaimed, the others have the same reaction.

"The enemy's forces are too strong and I haven't encountered him during our investigation," Choi Han responded. "Cale also knew the identity of the enemy, that's why he knew he was the one who took him."

Choi Han wondered what Cale meant about the enemy will not kill him. Alver remained calm, two of his trusted persons already knew the identity of the enemy yet nobody told him. He felt somewhat betrayed.

"Then what's the leader's appearance? Will you at least describe him so we would know?"

"He also has red hair like Cale's and light reddish brown eyes. He usually wears a mask."

Then they heard the shattering sound of a teacup. They turned to the angry red dragon.

"That bastard? So he is the enemy all along?!" Youna yelled.

"You've seen him?" Eruhaben frowned.

"Cale never told me who the enemy's leader is, but that person Choi Han described is the only person we met in the Molden Kingdom. I know something was wrong with that person," Youna gritted his teeth. "That bastard was practically glued to him all the time!"

"There is a reason why Cale doesn't tell you about that person. The enemy cannot be killed by a simple method, also he didn't want to risk any of you," Choi Han sighed.

"Wait a minute, didn't the Henituse Estate get attacked by that same organization three years ago?" Rosalyn asked after connecting all the information.

"Yes, you are right, Miss Rosalyn. But Young Master Basen and Young Lady Lily were the ones who got taken that time," Ron responded. The Henituse' nodded.

"No, their original target must be Cale. Remember the time another member of that organization snuck inside the greenhouse? Did they perhaps know about his abilities?" Eruhaben joined the conversation.

"Did Cale encounter a strange person before the attack?" Choi Han asked. Youna recalled his memories after all he was the one who has always been by his side since.

"Wait, during the Coronation of the Crown Prince, Cale was acting strange after he saw the Alchemist Tower's emissary," Youna responded as he rummaged through his spatial bag to look for the recording device he had. "This is the person, though his hair was black."

There, they could see another black-haired individual carrying a drunk Cale. Rosalyn, Alver, and the Henituse' remembered that scene. Choi Han's aura darkened seeing the face of the black-haired man.

"That's him," Choi Han said as he stared at the recording intently. Even though the enemy changed his appearance, he will never forget the face who destroyed everything in their timeline.

"Then, does that mean the Mogoru Empire is in cahoots with the enemy?" Alver asked in shock as he supported his head. This too much information was hurting his head.

Everyone was surprised to know how big this thing was. But it does make sense, if the organization has the backing of an empire, then they could basically do everything they wanted.

"Moreover, you also encountered him in the Molden Kingdom. This means the royals are also part of their scheme?" Alver asked.

"According to Cale's people investigation, only Elisneh and some of her underlings are part of that organization," Olienne responded.

"Ha, that bitch is two-faced. She appears to be a just and benevolent queen but she's rotten to the core. She even stole her sister's idea in making their kingdom prosper and easier to live," Youna let out a mocking laugh.

"Hyung, your real attitude really comes out when human is not around," Raon commented after seeing Youna revealing his real self. The red dragon always prevented himself from acting like the real dragon he was. If it wasn't for Cale, Youna would be acting like Eruhaben but more vicious.

"Well, of course! Cale loves me when I'm sweet and cute," Youna huffed. The others noted what the red dragon said.

So he likes them sweet and cute, was what they all thought.

Deruth let out a fake cough as he tapped his forefinger on the table, "ahem, let's not stray away from our discussion here."

The group continued their discussion. The dragons in Cale's side shared everything they have found over the years and Choi Han added more information based on what he knew from his previous timeline.

"So you're saying that the North have created an alliance and they are planning on waging wars on their neighboring countries?" Alver asked, thinking deeply about what Count Deruth and Choi Han said.

"According to Cale and the evidence he supplied, yes they are," Count Deruth responded.

Choi Han felt like everything would finally be different. Everyone was finally united and he was amazed that the Count believed and considered what Cale said. And he admired how Cale managed to widen his information network. This way, they could minimize the damage the upcoming wars might cause.

"I think the Rowoon Kingdom is not enough to fight off those kingdoms," Rosalyn said.

"That's right, we need to form another alliance," Choi Han responded.

During his previous timeline, they didn't form any alliance that's why the majority of the kingdoms had trouble fighting off the Indomitable Alliance. They took advantage of each kingdom's weaknesses. That was also the time when the Henituse Territory fell.

"I'll let my brother know about it. I have no power in forming an alliance with you, Your Highness but I will be your messenger and relay this information we found," Rosalyn said.

"Please do, thank you, Miss Rosalyn," Alver responded.

"We need to do something about the Ubarr Seas, it will be one of the vital points in the upcoming war," Choi Han said. Then Ohn, Hong, and Raon snickered, which made the others look at them. The two kittens walked elegantly in front of them.

"It's alright, the people of the sea are especially fond of our human! Hihi! They will certainly help us if Cale asked them," Ohn commented.

"That's right! We saw how they looked at him," Hong added. Then the three children looked at one another then turned to the heroes and prince.

"They'll definitely do anything Cale will ask them!" the three said in unison.

"The people of the sea?" Alver mumbled. Are they perhaps talking about the Whales?

"That's true," Youna agreed. "Even that musclehead bastard will definitely do anything in Cale's favor."

"Musclehead bastard?"

"Yeah, that crazy ass musclehead who's obsessed with fighting," Youna recalled.

"Toonka? The Commander of the non mage faction in Whipper Kingdom?" Choi Han asked. The children and Youna nodded.

"What? What in the world is the Young Master doing?" Rosalyn asked as she tried to think and connect everything. "How did he get acquainted with these people?"

"About the Whales, I don't know. But about that musclehead warrior, he beat him in a fight," Youna proudly boasted.

The others were just speechless.

"Let me try speaking with Toonka," Choi Han said.

"Alright, I'll accompany you so he'll know that you have a connection with Cale," Youna responded. Choi Han nodded.

"But how about the Jungle?" Choi Han asked after realizing that the Jungle is being burned down. "The war will also reach that place."

"The Jungle probably owed Cale Henituse so we could just ask them to aid you if you use your information correctly," Eruhaben said.

Nobody asked any more of that information as they knew more or less what happened.

There, they all organized and decided on some things. Alver would be the one speaking with all of them. Choi Han and the others would invite those important people so they could come up with their strategy in secret.

The Whales, the Jungle, the Breck Kingdom, and Toonka received the information of the upcoming war. The Whales were especially hostile towards the organization due to Cale's disappearance. The Jungle wanted to help retrieve Cale from the hands of the enemies. Toonka wanted to rush and take his friend away from those filthy bastards. The Breck Kingdom would make a secret visit to the Rowoon Kingdom.

After a week, the delegation from the Breck Kingdom arrived with Rosalyn. The Whale King, Paseton, Archie and Whitira also arrived secretly under Youna's disguise. Toonka and Harol will communicate through the communication device since they cannot go personally due to their kingdom's state. The Jungle also arrived covertly.

The five leaders spoke to one another. Coming up with strategies on how they would deal with the attacks of the enemies. Naturally, Youna and Freesia were also present in the event. The two informed the leaders about their findings and how they should deal with them.

At the end of their meeting, they came up with a solution. They would secretly increase their forces, Youna informed Alver about the mages from the Magic Tower so he would secretly employ them to his side. The leaders of each kingdom and tribe did their own and they were assured Youna and the others would help them as well.

Choi Han waited for news about the Elf Village being attacked since it happened during his previous timeline, yet weeks passed and nothing happened.

Is this the effect of Cale's disappearance? Choi Han questioned in his mind.

Right now, Choi Han was in-charge of training the eligible wolflings and Lark. They were currently staying inside the villa Cale had given him. This way nobody would know what they were doing. Choi Han was actually surprised to see how the Harris Village was being cleaned out and another villa would be rebuilt there.

The young dragons and the cat siblings were also training under the ancient dragons' guidance. Their companions were becoming stronger day by day and it was evident to Youna and Raon.

Now that I think about it, Raon must be the black dragon who was supposed to die by my hands, Choi Han thought.

I was told that there are no two dragons with the same color, Choi Han continued his thoughts as he smiled unknowingly.

The black-haired hero felt bad towards the black dragon he killed in his previous timeline.

"So he was still young," Choi Han muttered as guilt rose. He didn't expect it to be this young.

"Who's still young, Choi Han?" Raon flew towards him.

"Hmm, I am just thinking about an old memory," Choi Han responded. "Seeing you reminds me of someone I met before."

"Oh, I see. So where's that person now?"

Choi Han paused. The one he's thinking about was just right in front of him. However, he couldn't say it was Raon.

"Unfortunately, he died," Choi Han said with a sad look.

"Hmp! Even though you hurt my human, you are still kind Choi Han," Raon commented seeing the other's expression.

"They must be precious to you," Raon added.

Precious? Choi Han thought. I killed him before I could get to know him. But what choice do I have at that time?

"I don't think so," Choi Han quietly mumbled.

"You shouldn't be too kind, Choi Han," Raon said as he flew towards the two kittens approaching them.

"Hey, hey, Raon, do you think Cale is eating well there?" Hong asked.

"Ha! They better feed him good food or I'll destroy them," Raon answered.

"If Cale-nyaa gets hungry he'll get away and come back to us in no time," Ohn added.

"Yes, you have a point there. After all, food is precious to our human," Raon said.

"Haha don't underestimate Cale's love for food. If he finds their food delicious, he might stay there for a while," Youna butted in after hearing their conversation. "You don't know how much he was munching sweets during the banquet in the Molden Kingdom."

This red dragon didn't exist on the previous timeline, the same with the green dragon, Choi Han thought. As Youna's words were finally processed ...

"Hmm, does that mean Cale can be seduced by delicious food?" Choi Han asked.

Did he miss food so much that he eats all the time? I know during war times it is difficult to eat delicious food ... but for real? Choi Han nervously thought.

Choi Han knew Cale was strong so he could get away anytime he wanted. The dragons and kittens paused for a while before answering with anxiety creeping inside their minds.

"Yes," they all answered in unison.

The black-haired hero didn't know what to react then the two ancient dragons approached them with dark expressions.

"Cale needed to be disciplined if that's the case," Eruhaben said.

"If ... and only if ... Cale didn't come back just because of the enemy's scrumptious meal ... that redhead needs to be restrained," Olienne added.

"The Young Master might be missing his favorite lemon tea," Ron continued after hearing their conversation.

The three old men laughed menacingly thinking of what to do with the redhead. Raon and Hong jumped into their plans as they excitedly circled around them.

Ohn just silently prayed for their human's sanity when he returned.

Cale-nyaa, just come home immediately and don't say something you will regret later on, Ohn thought.

Meanwhile, on the enemy's side, Cale was just casually sipping sweet tea and eating the White Star's delicious cookies.
