Chapter one: Starting Point

An eight year old boy was sleeping peacefully, and a soft breathing could be heard from the small child. A minute later, a knock could be heard from his door. But the boy was sleeping deeply and soundly, the sound didn't wake him up. Hence, a butler in his late 40s entered the room of the child. The butler approached the child, and a small smile appeared on his face as his Young Master was sleeping peacefully without any care from the world.

He tapped the small child gently and the child slowly opened his eyes. The boy groggily sat up, his eyes were half closed, and tried to adjust his vision. He could see his butler opening the curtains in his windows, and his eyes met the sunlight beaming from the openings. The butler then turned around to see his Young Master but suddenly stiffened from the sight. The Young Master Cale Henituse was crying sadly and silently while staring at his palms. He hurriedly approached his side.

"Is there something wrong, Young Master?" Ron, the butler, asked. Cale just shook his head without looking at his butler. Cale wasn't sure why he was crying, it felt that he had a lot of reasons why he's crying to the point he cannot identify what.

Worry was present from the face of his butler and started to gently pat the redhead's back. Cale found his butler's gestures endearing but he couldn't calm down. This made the redhead cried more. Hiccups and heavy breathing could be heard from the redhead much to the butler's panic.

"Where's dad and mom?" Cale asked between his hiccups as he grips his chest tightly. Without answering the butler head out the room and called for the redhead's parents. Soft yet strong cries could be heard from the opened door of the Young Master. The servants who heard their young master got worried and they could see the Count and Countess rushing to their only son. They were followed by Ron, who closed the door after both the Count and Countess entered.

"What's the matter, my dear?" asked his mother. Cale looked up to the familiar voice he heard and he cried even more. His mind was mushed up right now and couldn't collect his thoughts. A lot of different memories flashed before his eyes and he was now confused. He just released the feelings he had from watching all those by crying.

Cale didn't answer his mother which made both of his parents worried and hugged the small body. Cale gripped on their clothes and cried sadly as if he was grieving.

"There, there, we are here," Count Deruth patted his back gently, making him relax to the comforting feeling. They could still hear the redhead sobbing from their arms.

"It seems my small bean had a nightmare," Countess Jour said trying to ease her child. Cale just shook his head without looking at his parents. Jour looked at his son with soft eyes, and patted his head. She just knew why this child was crying, as she sees her son's time was changed and warped. Her son's time was originally warped, but this time it changed. She didn't know why, but she had a clue this might be the reason why her son was crying.

"It's alright now, Mommy and Daddy is here," she said softly and hums to soothe the child in her arms. Both of them continued patting the redhead gently and slowly Cale stopped crying. As his body relaxes and his mind adjusted and now organized, feeling the tiredness from all that crying, he fell asleep.

"Oh, he tire himself and passed out," Deruth said in worry. He gently laid his son carefully, he could still hear his soft sobs in his sleep.

"I wonder what happened?" Deruth looked at his wife with face full of wonder as he knows his son doesn't cry too often. His wife just let out a soft smile.

"Maybe he just had a nightmare," Jour answered while caressing the face of her son while her other hand was holding the small hand of the boy. They just looked at their son's sleeping face and from time to time wiped the tears that came out from his eyes. They didn't leave their son's side and waited for him to wake up.

Cale, who's now fully awake, was quite mortified with his crying mess earlier in the morning. He was ashamed that an old man like him was crying like a child. Well, technically he was in a body of a child but still his mind was an old man. He still couldn't believe that he was back. He was now home, after all those dreaded years he had to endure alone, he was finally home.

He was greeted by his Father and Mother when he woke up the second time. Now, Ron was dressing him up so he could dine with his parents. He was wearing a white long sleeves with ribbons on the collar and flower embroidery at the tip of his collar and cuffs, on top of it he wore a light gray vest with blue embroidery at the edge of it. He was also wearing a black and grey shorts that covers half of his thigh, accompanied by socks that reached below his knees and a suspender to keep his socks up. He looks at the mirror and couldn't help but stare at the small figure reflecting in front of him.

I looked really small. I also looked like a doll perfect for dress up, he thought and sighed earning the attention of his old butler.

"Are you dissatisfied with your look, Young Master?" Ron asked. Cale flinched and looked up his butler.

"N-No, I look great! Thank you," he said and smiled softly. Ron smiled back as he looked at the satisfied expression of his young master.

"Shall we go, Young Master?" he asked and Cale nodded. He raised his small hand, wanting to hold on to something since he felt that his legs were like jellies. The old butler stiffened from the gesture of his young master and chuckled softly. The redhead looked at him, frowning and pouting, while his small arms were raised waiting for it to be held by the older man.

"I'm sorry, Young Master. Let's go," Ron held his hand and started to walk. The servants were looking at their Young Master fondly with a hint of worry after hearing him crying out loud earlier.

"Eat well, Young Master," Ron said as they reached the dining room and opened the door.

"Yes, you too Ron," Cale replied and entered the room.

"Good morning, Cale," Jour greeted him with a smile and gestured him to sit beside her.

"Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Dad," he greeted them both and sat beside his mother.

"Good morning, Cale. How's your sleep?" asked his Father. Cale looked at his Father, who was also looking at him.

"It was good, but I had a really long bad dream," Cale answered keeping his head low that might look sad for the other's point of view. Deruth looked at his son with sad eyes, since he wasn't used to his son's mellow demeanor.

"I see, don't worry my dear. Those bad dreams are temporary. It will go away," his Mother said, he looked at his mother and let out a small smile. Food were now served in their table and they ate uneventfully.

After eating, both Deruth and Jour excused themselves as they have works to do and have to finish today. Cale was now left alone with his butler, Ron. He ditched his supposed to be classes today, and went to the library to read some books alone. He wanted some time alone for he need to organize what's inside his head more. He asked Ron to tell his teacher that he won't be attending their classes and to bring him some food in the library.

As he entered the library, he then proceeded to the first shelf he saw. He skimmed and scanned every book in that shelf, slowly and surely ensure he will remember everything he read through. He felt weird using his brain's full potential. He looked for information that might help him in the future. Some words were difficult to understand but he managed, he took note of important information he found.

Ron arrived at the library with a trolley filled with snacks and refreshments. He found his Young Master on the floor of the library in between the shelves, he placed the food in the table near the boy. He then stealthily observed what his Young Master was up to.

He could see his Young Master reading books that were too advanced for his age, and he could see that this puppy young master of his could understand what the book was saying. Also, he occasionally took note of what he deemed important on what he was doing. Once he's done, he takes another book to read. Ron was surprised to see his little master reading at an incredible speed. He watched him read books one after another. After finishing another book, he managed to finish all the books in the lower shelves and his target now was at the higher ones. Since this young master couldn't reach it, he climbed the shelves but slipped. Luckily, Ron was there to save the day.

"Be careful, Young Master," Ron said who caught Cale.

"Ah, thank you Ron," he replied. He was gently put down, and helped him remove the dust in his clothes.

"Would you like to take a break, Young Master?" Ron asked showing his signature benign smile. Cale nodded at his question and saw the food he brought. Cale took his notes and went to the table to eat. Unbeknownst to him, he was smiling longingly to the sweets he's eating which baffled the old man beside him. He seems to slowly enjoy the food he's eating as if he was eating them after long years of not being able to taste them and he was well behaved today, compared to his mischievous yet cheerful days. This Young Master of his in front of him became more calm and a little mature.

Maybe it's because he woke up from a nightmare, Ron thought.

"You can go now, Ron. Thank you for bringing me this," Cale said as he lifted his teacup and looked at Ron, smiling gently to the older man. This surprises Ron, but he regained his usual expression and smiled back.

"If you need me just call me and this Ron will immediately come to your side," Ron said and bowed slightly, he exited after that.

Now that Cale was alone again in the library, he re-reads the information he wrote down from the books he had read. These will help him greatly in the future, but it was still lacking. Even if he finishes all the books in their manor's library, it won't be enough. He pondered and thought hard of a way to get more information, and the only solution he got was to visit the Royal Library. But he doesn't have any access nor has the authority to go there. So, he set the idea aside and carefully assess what he had right now.

The war in the Western Continent started when he was 18 years old, the Terror Plaza Incident will serve as the signal of that war. But that organization was slowly entering the Western Continent through various places, they were covertly harming people and no one was reporting it to the crown. Cale knew that this organization was somehow connected to the neighboring kingdom who will attack their kingdom in the future.

There might be no war in the Eastern Continent but that organization had taken over the Underground World and it will be difficult for him to spy the continent knowing that a lot of rats were scattering in that place. He also knew that there were rats in the kingdom and Cale was well aware of the fact that he couldn't act freely right now as he was still a child.

"I need people," he mutters in a low voice.

Right now, what was important to him was to gather people who could help him. But for now, Cale will happily eat these sweets in front of him that he wasn't able to eat all those years.
