Chapter thirty-nine: Terror Plaza Incident

Youna and Olienne received a call from the black dragon. The red dragon wanted nothing more than to teleport to Cale's side upon hearing he was awake. He wanted to be the first one he'll see when he wakes up but that isn't possible right now. Cale told them about a possible bombing in the plaza where the gatherings of the nobles would be held.

Basen was currently in his room since they just arrived at the Capital. He was currently resting. His butler gave him a letter, inviting him to a gathering of northeastern nobles. After thirty minutes of resting, his butler knocked again and told him he had an unexpected visitor.

Basen went down to meet the said visitor, to his surprise it was Ron. Youna, the red dragon, was standing in front of Ron, frowning. The younger Henituse understood why Youna was upset. Ron and Vicross left his brother to accompany Choi Han.

"I apologize for the sudden intrusion, Young Master. But you are the only one who came into mind," Ron greeted Basen. Looking at his expression, it seemed urgent.

"What is it?" Basen asked.

"I would like to ask you for a favor, Young Master. Can we seek shelter here for a while until our situation gets better?" Ron asked as Basen glanced over behind the old ex-butler.

Basen saw the Crown Prince instructor, Choi Han with a person in his back. There was also a woman with bright, red hair, their ex chef and ten children. He could see the desperation in Choi Han's face and the fear from the children. Basen looked over to where Youna was standing and the red dragon was just looking at the people in astonishment. Basen couldn't make out whether Youna was frowning or smiling.

Youna, on the other hand, was amazed at how Cale predicted the situation. He already read this possibility in the diary Cale left with him before he fell into a coma. The redhead already knew Ron would leave his side, that was why he didn't tell him anything in relation to what they were doing. Youna let out a laugh like sigh as he nodded at how amazing his human was.

Cale's really amazing, Youna thought.

Choi Han frowned at the appearance of the red-haired and green-haired people in the Henituse. He didn't meet them during his first memory. Before he could continue his thoughts, Lark, the child in his back, groaned.

"Hmm, it seems that that child is about to go in his berserk form," Olienne commented.

"For the meantime, let's go inside. It's unpleasant to talk about these things in this place," Basen interjected as they guided their guests.

Olienne told them to place the beast child to a spacious training ground. The green dragon knew about beast people as he had lived for hundreds of years. Their first time, especially for the strongest beast tribes, had it worse as their whole body would be in pain and they would attack anyone and anything they see. The ten beast children were guided to a different room to rest and replenish their energy.

Now, Choi Han, Vicross and Rosalyn were standing in front of the berserking beast child. Olienne and Youna stood in the sidelines as they watched the scene unfold before them. The wolf child grew bigger in size, his sharp teeth showed and his nails grew long and sharp. He began attacking the three people in front of him.

"Do not attack the child. Defend yourself to protect yourselves and that child," Olienne reminded them as the red dragon casted an invisible barrier so they wouldn't hear any of them.

The fight went on for several minutes and after tiring out the wolf child he passed out. Choi Han and the others looked like a mess then Ron approached them and handed them a potion. Youna and Olienne went upstairs to check the wolf children. They were currently eating and Basen was speaking with his butler. Then Ron and Choi Han approached Basen to thank him.

"We are truly grateful for your aid, young master," Ron bowed.

"It's alright. No need to thank me, hyung would do the same if he's here," Basen responded. Ron smiled longingly as he remembered the possibility of Cale helping them too.

"Once the bigger child wakes up, tell him to come find me. I have some things I wanted to ask him. I know the reason why Ron and Vicross went with Choi Han to travel, having children in your care while engaging with something dangerous will jeopardize the safety of these wolf children," Basen added. Ron nodded and Basen went out to meet the northeastern nobles; Youna accompanied Basen.

Ron, Choi Han, Rosalyn, and Olienne were currently in the lounge area where the wolf child slept. Vicross was currently looking after the ten wolf children in the garden. They already had their introduction earlier but Olienne didn't mention him and Youna being a dragon. The green dragon looked like he owned the place as he casually sipped his tea.

Ron had mentioned Olienne was one of Cale's mages which intrigued Rosalyn since she was a mage as well. Choi Han frowned as he didn't remember anything like this in his first memory.

"Mr. Olienne, I heard you are a mage," Rosalyn spoke. Olienne glanced over her.

"Well, yes. Do not expect me to show you my magic since I won't be doing it," Olienne responded as he ate the cookies given to him.

"Are you perhaps a dragon? I sensed something different from you and the person called Youna," Rosalyn asked. The green dragon smirked. Choi Han intently looked at him.

Ever since they saw Rosalyn, they already tested her. They wanted to know how strong she had become after Cale mentioned that she could become an Archmage—the highest rank for mages.

"Hm, who knows?" Olienne responded as he stood and walked away, his smirk never left his face.

There, Rosalyn knew Youna and Olienne were dragons. This was the first time she had seen one. Additionally, the dragons were close to a human being. Ron told them Olienne and Youna were Cale's mages. Now she wondered how Cale met such great beings? Not just one, but two! She was obviously stunned.

Choi Han, on the other hand, wanted to ask for their help. But if they were really dragons, there was no reason for them to help them. Their existence was certainly a change in this life. In his first memory, the only dragon he encountered was the black dragon whom he killed to give him freedom. Now, he was seeing alive dragons. Their aid would greatly benefit him and the world. He just wonders how he could convince them into helping them.

Basen got back from his gathering with the northeastern nobles in the late afternoon and that was also the time when Lark finally awoke. Basen and Lark conversed with one another. He was helping them as his older brother would. He proposed to Lark into sheltering his brothers and sisters in the Henituse Estate back in the Rain City. For the meantime, while Basen was at the Capital, he would keep them here. Of course, everything depends on Lark's decision.

The young wolf boy understood the route he's trying to take. He knew it was dangerous for him, more so to his brothers and sisters. The young master of Henituse was offering him some help but he asked him to speak with his family first before deciding for everyone. So he did. Lark spoke with his brothers and sisters. He explained the dangers of coming with him and how they weren't ready for that kind of reality. As a result, they were able to come up with a consensus.

Lark spoke with Basen again and agreed to what he had offered. The young wolf boy ensured his brothers and sisters could work for them however Basen was against the idea. Still, Lark insisted. Now, Choi Han and his team could focus on their goal.

That night, Choi Han searched for the magic bombs that would set off on the day of the King's birthday. He remembered ten bombs that would go off on that day, so he searched all night but he couldn't find anything.

The night before the celebration, Choi Han searched for the bombs again and this time he finally found them. He wanted to take them but he was stopped by Youna.

"Do not touch them. If you want to capture the perpetrators, you have to dismantle them on the day this will go off," Youna spoke.

"How did you know about the bombs?" Choi Han asked, his eyes widening.

"Did Cale Henituse know about it? That's why he sent you here?!" He asked again as he clutched on Youna's collar. The red dragon slapped the hero's hand.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I am here to keep Young Master Basen safe, I just noticed something here that's why I am here to check," Youna answered.

"I want to know who planted these bombs so don't you dare steal them," Youna added as he glared at Choi Han.

Meanwhile, in Cale Henituse's side, Hans were telling him the detailed events of what happened when he was unconscious. The redhead felt proud of his siblings' achievements. Hans also handed him a letter from Ron and Vicross, this moved Cale. During the first timeline, the father and son left him without telling him. He was devastated that time, he believed they hated him for being trash. However, he was wrong. When Ron died, Vicross came to him to tell him the news saying his father would want Cale to know. The same with Vicross, when he died his belongings were given to him for keepsafe. It seemed Choi Han was instructed to give their things to Cale. This time, Ron and Vicross left him a letter. He prayed to keep the two safe.

Raon, Ohn and Hong got along really well on their way to the Capital. They arrived at the Capital on the exact day of the celebration. Eruhaben immediately came to them when Raon told him Cale was awake. Now, there were four dragons present in the Capital and Cale hoped this time, no one would die from the bombs.

The day of the celebration arrived, Basen met up with Eric and the others. He also greeted Taylor, who came as the representative for Stan Family. Youna and Olienne remained invisible so they could protect Basen if something went wrong. Choi Han and the others were around the plaza as well. He already told his companions about the magic bombs and they were looking out for it. The magic bombs installed before the celebration was already dismantled, courtesy of Youna.

Choi Han, Rosalyn, Lark, Vicross, and Ron were the ones who knew about the magic bombs. Youna and Olienne knew about this from Cale's diary, they weren't sure how many magic bombs would go off this time so they remained vigilant. Their hearts beat wildly in anticipation, fear, anxiety, and excitement. Youna secretly took the magic bombs he dismantled so he could experiment with it later.

By the time the Royal Family of the Rowoon Kingdom entered the plaza, Eruhaben and Raon teleported there as well. Youna and Olienne noticed their presence and they both smirked.

Human told me to come here, Raon telepathically spoke into the minds of Youna and Olienne.

Alright, the pre-installed bombs were already dismantled. The remaining would be the ones attached to the citizens, Youna responded.

Hyung, remember human's instruction. Make it seem Choi Han saved all of them, Raon reminded as he flew around while remaining invisible.

I never forgot about it, Youna smiled as he transformed into his dragon form, remaining invisible as he flew on top of the plaza.

The King stood on stage to give his speech when a group of unknown people appeared out of nowhere.

"What? Who are they?" One of the citizens asked as they pointed towards the top of the clock tower.

"Who are you?! Come down at once!" One of the knights shouted as they ran in their direction.

Choi Han heard the voice of the mage on top of the clock tower.

"This should be fun," the crazy mage said. Choi Han remembered his name, it was Redika. Then the crazy mage used his magic to install the remaining bombs.

Choi Han and his companions used the chaos as their opportunity to look for the bombs. The palace mages were also preparing for an anti-magic barrier, luckily the four dragons received an artifact to avoid getting affected by it—gifted by Cale.

Ugh, why am I working myself like this? Eruhaben thought as he dismantled the bombs that were newly installed. Olienne wanted to laugh at his friend's expression.

The four dragons dismantled all the newly installed bombs as the heroes took the items where it was installed. Basen was being dragged by Eric to evacuate but the younger Henituse wanted to see what was happening. The chaos was the same from the attack in the Henituse Estate.

Once Choi Han and the others secured the items, Rosalyn used her magic to throw the dismantled bombs away. Youna was thinking of scavenging those later. The items were thrown away completely in time when the palace mages finally put up the anti-magic barrier. Then, Redika snapped his fingers to activate the bombs.

Contrary to his expectations, the bombs didn't go off which infuriates Redika.

"The bombs didn't work?! Why?!" He raged as he used his magic again to attack the people outside the barrier.

Choi Han protected them by deflecting the magic using his sword, the same with his other companions. Redika's face turned red due to his rage as he sent out the people he came with. Those people were suicide bombers and it was a total of six people. One was dispatched near the royal family, another near the citizens, the other was near the building, some were on the nobles' side. The dragons dispersed as they noticed how powerful the bombs were compared to the ones before. The crazy mage laughed as he raised his hand.

"Basen, let's go! It's dangerous here!" Eric yelled as he dragged the younger one.

Basen saw one of the bombers come to them. He looked around and he saw other bombers. Even if they were killed, the bombs would still go off. Then, Basen tripped as he fell out of focus.

"Basen! Look out!" Eric and Amiru yelled as Basen looked up.

Things went on in slow motion, Basen saw one of the bomber getting close at him.

Is this the day am I going to die? Basen thought as his eyes went wide when he saw a familiar silver light enveloping the bomber in front of him.

Basen, he heard a voice. A familiar voice. He teared up realizing whose voice it was.

The winged silver shield enveloped the six suicide bombers sent out by Redika. The three dragons knew whose shield it was so they also put up their shield on the suicide bombers to provide strength to the shield.

Then the bombs went off.

A deafening sound roared in the plaza. The people covered their bodies waiting for the impact. However, strong winds coming from the bombs were the only ones they felt. After that, the people looked up to see the suicide bombers blown into smithereens. No flesh, no blood, no bones left. Only dust.

Redika paled upon seeing nobody died in their attack. They were the only ones who suffered loss. Choi Han glared at the crazy mage as he jumped to where he was.

"Ha ha ha, this is not the end, remember this!" Redika shouted as he teleported away.

Choi Han ran to the direction where Redika would land. This time, he would kill him off.

In the plaza, Eric helped Basen up. They saw the younger Henituse with tears in his eyes. Taylor offered a warm embrace to comfort Basen and they heard him mutter but it was incomprehensible.

"What is it, Basen?" Taylor asked.

"I need to go home," Basen answered. They understood why, after all he almost died.

"Hyung's ... for me," Basen muttered again.

Basen didn't care whether his crying mess would damage his reputation but he needed to go home. He wanted to see his hyung. That silver shield ... he knew it. It was his hyung. It was the same shield his hyung used to protect him three years ago!

Basen, calm down. Don't worry, Youna spoke in his mind. Basen breathed deeply and calmed down.

"I'm sorry about this Eric-hyung, Taylor-hyung. I am alright now," Basen said. The two let out a sigh of relief.

"It's just that shield earlier ... it was awfully familiar," Basen smiled softly.

The terror plaza incident that brought nightmares to the people as it killed a mass of people didn't happen the second time. Nobody died during the terror attack, the infrastructures were slightly damaged but most importantly no lives were lost.

"I shall do my utmost to have us recover from this terrible incident. That is why I want all of you to follow the orders of the crown and focus on calming yourselves and getting rest. I am glad nobody died in this attack. This celebration will be continued at a later date," the King said.

Alver looked around and he saw Basen doing alright. Then he spotted Rosalyn, the princess from the neighboring kingdom, and some people. He remembered all the people who helped in protecting their citizens. The King also remembered their actions, thus they would be rewarded later.

After a while, Choi Han came back to the plaza to meet his companions. He was told he was invited by the Crown Prince to the palace. Which was why, their group went on in the carriage to go.

Basen's group, on the other hand, were going back to their villa in the capital to rest. Youna and the other dragons followed them. Basen's heart was beating loudly, he was scared and excited at the same time. He just couldn't wait to see his brother, he needed to call his father to know.
