Chapter 2

Wooyoung was happy.

The new house was nice and he felt that he could call it home after a week already.

The town was nice. Not too small bt not too big, a nice middle course. The only thing he could complain about was that the drivers weren't exactly what he definited careful.

The job, for wich they moved, was nice too. That place was nice, the colleagues were nice, the routine was never too boring.

Everything was so nice and Wooyoung was so happy about it.

At first, when San and him had decided to move house, he wasn't really sure about it, he wasn't sure that they were doing the right thing, that they weren't going to regret about their choices, and of course he wasn't enthusiastic.

San, who, since he was younger, was more used at changes, wasn't so stressed about it, and that was the only thing that had convinced Wooyoung that they could do it, that it could end well, that it could not be a so bad idea.

And, in the end, he was happy that they did it.

That Saturday in the afternoon, after returning from work, he was gone to the supermarket near their house to buy some ingredients, since San wanted to cook something particular for dinner.

He was about to enter the door when he saw something strange on the cherry tree in front of the house.

"It must be an hallucination." he thought while opening the door.

But then he looked at the tree again.

And he froze realizing that there really was something unusual on it.

Or somebody.

It seemed something like a girl sitting on a branch of the tree, looking at him. Or better: it was. There was still enough light to see it cleary.

Wooyoung felt a shiver shaking him from his feet until his neck.

He was about to scream and then run in and call San to ask him what to do, but then the girl moved.

-Hi.- she only said.

The boy felt another shiver.

Why was he so afraid?

And why was there a girl sitting on a branch of the cherry tree in his garden?

-What are you doing there?- he asked, trying to seem menacing.

The girl made an evident grimace and seemed really displeased.

-It was my home.- she said, in a low and emotionless voice.

-What?-

-It was my home. I used to live there since I was seven years old.- the girl explained.

Another shiver.

-So what? We have bought it, so it's ours now.- Wooyoung said, in a dry voice.

On the tree, the girl shruggled.

-Do you really think that I give a damn?- she said, with something that could be an half but definitely not genuine smile.

-What...- the boy started to say, but she interrupted him.

-You were wondering why who used to live here left, weren't you?-

-How do you know...-

-I was observing you from the roof.

-Anyway, since you wanna know it, well, she died, that's why she had to leave, and then why I hat too.- the girl said, before jumping down from the tree and then quickly climbing over the gate and disappearing at the end of the road.
