It's been a month since the disappearance of Dunk Natachai.

And Phuwin is seeing a living hell in front of him in the form of Joong Archen's life.

Joong is Pond's best friend but he is also his friend, and Phuwin gets hurt by seeing how he is living his life in this past month.

He is broken, hurt, angry, frustrated, desperate, and also.. confused . And as his friends, both Pond and Phuwin can't give him any help since Dunk also stopped contacting them. It really feels like Dunk is disappearing and no one really knows why. No one can give them an answer except maybe, his parents. But his parents are a fucking wall and maybe the reason of his absence in his boyfriend and friend's life.

Even for Phuwin, this event hurt and confused him so much. Can you imagine how painful it is for Joong? Phuwin doesn't know how to use present tense or past tense for their relationship but Joong is (or was) Dunk's partner, Phuwin believed that Joong had finally found his soulmate in Pond's best friend. But now...

He is leaving him alone without any explanation.

And of course Joong can't accept that.

And yes at first, he didn't believe that Dunk was already flying out from this country. He thought that his mother was lying to him and it made sense even for Phuwin because he also saw how Dunk's mother acted to Joong that day. It was a great idea to accompany Joong to Dunk's house because at least he was there when Joong couldn't even move his body and just broke at the Boonprasert's family garden.

But there is a little bit of hope inside him that makes him move, to search for his lover.

Everyday, everyday he never was in his apartment. He searched for Dunk everywhere. He went to their favorite Vietnamesse's restaurant almost everyday, to Dunk's favorite bookshop; he was still hoping that Dunk would show up at the university so he waited there everyday. Not only at university, Joong also went to the hospital every single day and almost got prisoned for disturbing a public area because he screamed like a madman to one of their doctors to ask for Dunk's information. Of course the doctor won't tell him, it would violate his code of ethics.

Not only places he and Dunk both often visited, but he also searched him on the streets. He went out every night, just to search for a little bit of Dunk's scent.

"I can find him, I can only scent him so it is my job to find him."

But friend, how do you find someone who doesn't seem to want to be found?

At first, Phuwin also didn't believe that Dunk just left them like that but he was the most logical one in their circle so it's hard not to see the sign that Dunk was indeed leaving them without any words and explanations. If he still wanted to be back at least to his partner, should he give something that made Joong's life a little bit less miserable.

Three days ago, Joong was flying to Germany. He really went that far just to find his omega. Pond and Phuwin didn't really agree with that idea but Joong insisted.

"If it's true that Dunk is already leaving this country, I will find him there."

Phuwin was shaking his head. "Are you crazy? How big is Germany? How can you search for someone in the country you are unfamiliar with?"

There was a huge argument between Phuwin and Joong but in the end Phuwin ended up losing because it was too painful to see Joong's face that day. He is just too broken to be called a human.

Dunk what are you doing?

If you really love him, do you really need to do this?

Joong, who is always alone all his life, finally has someone to share his loneliness with, someone he loves so dearly despite the short time of their time together. And that someone is leaving him alone again without giving him any clues of what is happening.

Dunk, do you really think Joong's life will be okay after that?

The only thing that made him keep moving was because you told him that you love him and that's the only thing that was true. And that also made Pond -his soulmate- went out to Germany to accompany Joong to find you. Because Pond was so worried about Joong's sanity if he ever left alone to go to a strange country.

"I need to go, Phu. We don't know how many nights he stays awake. I'm afraid he will collapse there. It's not only about his mental health, his physic is also getting weaker and weaker."

Phuwin agreed with Pond on their last night conversation before the departure of his boyfriend and his boyfriend's best friend to Berlin.

"What do you think about all of this thing that is happening right now, Pond? You seem more quiet after Dunk's disappearance."

Phuwin knows that Dunk is Pond's bestfriend and he didn't want to talk bad about his best friend but Joong is also his best friend, right? He is conflicted and Phuwin knows about it.

"In one leg, I feel so bad and hurt for Joong but in the other leg, I know how terrifying Dunk's family is. What if his disappearance is not something he wants to do? What if he also needs help from us to get back to his freedom? There is so much speculation in my head, Phu."

Pond is not wrong either, there is always possibility.

But this possibility will always be a possibility until someone gives them an answer.

Who is that someone?

Who can give them an answer? Definitely not Dunk's parents but someone who is at least in that home to witness all the things that happened there.

It's Sunday and Phuwin is on his way to the nearest bakery to buy some bread for his breakfast when Pond's calls him. He asked Pond just to bring back Joong if after one week they can't find Dunk there, it's not a week yet since their departures but the serious tone on Pond's voice makes Phu stop his car right away and park it on the side of the road.

"Is everything okay?"

"Joong is in the ICU right now."

"What?"

"He collapsed in our hotel room when we wanted to go out to search for food."

Phuwin groans, of course he will eventually collapse. He had trouble sleeping and looked like he didn't take any sleeping pills to help him to sleep, he barely ate anything and that damn alpha was definitely exhausted. If Phuwin wanted to talk brutally, Joong looked like shit. He got thinner this past month, his sleeping bag is so dark and his eyes are losing his light. He looked like someone who was sentenced to death by the court.

"His sleeping's problem was getting more concerning and his body couldn't take it anymore. All this time he suppressed his headache in front of us but today it attacked him until he was unconscious." Just from the voice, Phuwin knows that Pond wants to cry right now. He feels so bad for his best friend and Phuwin needs to do something.

So he drives his car again, not to the direction of his initial planning, but to the house that is still too big and too cold for his liking.

Dunk's house.

He doesn't know what he will do there but he is also getting frustrated with everything that is happening right now.

An hour later when he arrives at that damn house, he expects that the security won't give him access to go inside the house. And it's true. That makes him think, before, it felt like the owner of this house intentionally asked them to go inside.

Dunk's mother really planned to say that to Joong, that means she knew who Joong is and what he is to Dunk. And yeah, she was giving Joong a hard slap by rejecting him. It was a rejection, indeed. Phuwin is finally reaching that conclusion.

The security is still giving him a hard time by rejecting his request to enter the house and Phuwin is getting pissed off. The anger and frustration starts to build up inside him and he rolls his eyes in annoyance to those securities in front of his car. Does Pond or Joong ever say something about Phuwin's temperament? Phuwin is easily getting angry and if he gets angry, does anyone know what he will be doing?

If you don't know, Phuwin himself will tell you that he will go insane. He can do anything if he gets mad, so making a fuss in front of Dunk's house is something he will be doing when he is angry.

Phuwin knows the owner of this house can bring him to the nearest police station but at this point he doesn't care, he just presses his car's horn hard and unstoppable. The peace of this house is definitely ruined by Phuwin's car.

"DUNK!!! IF YOU ARE INSIDE, COME OUTSIDE!!!!" He shouts right and left. "ARE YOU A KID??? WHY ARE YOU PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK WITH US!!!!"

Ten minutes later Phuwin is still shouting while pressing his car's horn and the security is definitely reporting this to the people inside because the next five minutes the gate is starting to move in front of him. Phuwin smirks, his idea is resulting in something, at least.

This big wall is finally opened for him.

He expects Dunk's mother will greet him but nope, there is another woman, an older woman if he compares with Dunk's mother age, who is glaring at him while shaking his head.

"Who are you making a fuss in front of other people's houses?" The old woman shouts at him and Phuwin shocks at how loud her voice is. Phuwin is getting out of the car. This is his only chance.

"Hello, auntie. My name is Phuwin, I'm Dunk's friend." This auntie looks like she isn't surprised by his name and just looking at him with a cold face.

"What do you want, Phuwin?" She asks coldly.

Ok first thing first, he needs to know who this old woman is.

"Are you Dunk's grandmother?" Phuwin tries to guess but the old woman laughs at his question.

"I'm only this house's nanny. Don't expect anything, I don't have the right to allow you to go inside."

Dunk's parents are definitely not here. If they are here, they will ask someone to chase him away, someone stronger than the two security guards in front of the gate. Not a weak and small old woman with a lot of white hairs in his head.

She wants to know the reason why Phuwin is here.

And she is this house nanny.

Phuwin smiles when he finally finds the answer to his question. He needs to find someone who can give him an answer, someone who has the possibility of witnessing all the things that happened inside this house.

"Is Dunk alright? Is he inside?" Phuwin asks carefully, he doesn't need the woman's answer because he knows she won't answer it. He just needs to see her reaction. She looks so calm but Phuwin notices a small smile on his face. Why is she smiling?

So, there is a possibility that Dunk is here all this time.

Is he locked up in his own house?

"Young man, you have only one minute to say everything. I will close the gate again after one minute."

"Ok, one minute. Auntie please if you can convey this message to Dunk, please tell him that Joong is in Germany right now. He went to search for him and right now..." Phuwin is doing some sad facial expressions. "He is in a near death situation."

The woman is giving him a shocked look. "Yes, he couldn't sleep for so long so he easily lost his focus, he crashed his rented car there. He lost so much blood and the blow to his head was very severe, right now there is a surgery happening there. His chances of living are only 10%. He is really going to die."

Joong's body is finally giving up.

He collapsed in front of Pond and after that his best friend rushed him to the nearby hospital.

He didn't know how long he'd been unconscious but it seemed like it's over a day already.

He is pretty sure that the doctor in this country is giving him a lot of tranquilizer and sleeping pills because he is so sleepy. He wakes up one minute and the next thing he is sleeping again. It occurs so many times, it makes him can't separate which is reality and which is his dreams. Joong knows that his body needs sleep but being forced to sleep like this doesn't feel good. He feels so weak and useless.

He needs to find Dunk.

The memory of him makes Joong's heart beat in pain.

He doesn't know anymore if it beats because of his love for him or because of the pain that caused by him.

Dunk why are you doing this to me?

After knowing all his past and how his parents always left him alone,

Why are you doing the exact same thing with what they are doing to me right now?

Why are you giving me so much pain right now?

Joong knows he needs to believe in him but his disappearance for a full month is giving him a hard time. Joong always has a problem with sleeping, but right now he is also having a problem with breathing. It's really hard to breath when the the bland of rich vanilla and warm coconut, a slight fragrance of aloe vera, lily of the valley, and chamomile doesn't reach his senses.

I miss you so much it kills me.

There are tears in Joong's eyes right now and he really wants to cry out loud. He suppressed his brokenness and acted like he is okay so whenever Dunk is coming back to him, he can see his life as a whole. Not a piece of him that is getting broken and broken every day Dunk is getting far away from him.

He didn't know that falling in love with someone can be this painful.

Joong is definitely dreaming again. The doctors in Germany are cool, he can give Joong's a drug that can make him see Dunk in his dreams.

"Thank you, thank you, you are alive." Dunk in his dream is looking at him with so much tears in his beautiful eyes. He looks so relieved when he sees Joong's eyes looking back at him but he looks so broken too. Joong is wondering why Dunk in his dream looks broken and in so much pain. Why do they need to suffer when it's only a dream?

He wants to hug him, he wants to take him in his embrace even though it's only his shadows. But he can't move his body. It's so unfair, he is supposed to do anything he wants to in his dream.

"Dunk." Joong calls him softly. He misses calling his name. "Dunk."

His boyfriend doesn't reply to his calling, he just looks at Joong with so much emotion dancing in his eyes right now. He looks so broken yet so relieved with Joong's existence in front of him.

"Dunk, where are you all this time?" Joong tries to smile, he doesn't want to show Dunk his broken side. He wants Dunk to always see him happy. "You know, I'm missing you like crazy."

Why are you leaving me alone?

Joong can't ask that because the image of Dunk in his dream right now is breaking him so bad. All his pain and suffering from his disappearance are long forgotten. Dunk looks so fragile like a bubble, like he can burst into nothingness if someone presses him any further.

"Are you okay?"

And seems like he is the one that burst that bubble. He pulls the trigger and now Dunk is looking at him with so much pain and love at the same time.

How is it possible?

"Joong..."

Finally, he calls my name again.

"Joong."

Dunk looks like he wants to say something but he can't, so at the end, he only calls Joong's name repeatedly and Joong is waiting for him there. In his hospital bedroom, looks up to Dunk's beautiful yet broken face in front of him. He waits for him, again.

"Can you let go of me?"

And the thing he says after calling his name is definitely something that Joong doesn't expect.

"Dunk.. you can't say that even if it's only a dream." Joong tries to smile again but every time he tries to fake his smile it feels like there is a sharp knife stabs directly to his heart.

"Dream?"

"I miss you so much and finally you came here to meet me, right?" Joong knows he sounds so weak and helpless. His sickness and the drugs that were injected into his body were very strong. It's either his dream or his hallucination because none of this feels real for him.

"Hmm, this is only your dream. And because this is only a dream I want to tell you something I shouldn't." Dunk is coming closer to him and places his hand on Joong's hand. He winces at the touches and then he smiles. He looks so tired of something that Joong doesn't know.

"Listen to me, Joong Archen."

Joong knows that he is being loved once again just from the way Dunk looks at him right now.

"Our lives are not our own, we are bound to others, past and present. We are here today because of someone's kindness and mercy. So, even though breathing feels so wrong, I will try to keep living." Dunk tries his best to not cry and Joong hates to see it.

"But, I don't deserve any more happiness in my life, Joong. That's why I can't be with you. Because being with you, I feel so much happiness and I don't deserve that. But you are always one of the most important pieces in my life; past, present, and future . And I still want to see you living your life happily."

Joong wants to ask what Dunk is trying to say to him, but his vision starts getting darker again. The drugs, the sleeping pills are taking him again. He wants to stay awake as best as he can but Dunk's voice is getting farther and farther.

"So please, don't be sick. Please stay healthy... and alive ." Dunk's voice is shaking at the word and it is the last thing he hears before the darkness is consuming him fully and his dream stops right there.

His dream of Dunk Natachai visiting him in the hospital in Germany while still holding onto his passport and his flight ticket on his left hand as if he rushed to this hospital once he was landing in this country.

As if he loves Joong so much that hearing he gets sick makes him leave anything that held him in his place and took a 14+ hours flight to meet him here.

Just to make sure that Joong is still breathing, co-existing with him, in this world, even though maybe they will be breathing separately.

Joong doesn't know if this dream is a happy dream because he finally meets Dunk again or a bad dream because Dunk is saying goodbye to him, once again.

Even though it's only by his dream.

Five days.

Need five freaking days for Joong to finally get his strength back and the side effects of the drugs he took to regain his strength is finally gone.

Pond is helping him to pack his things at the hospital and they plan to get back to the hotel before discussing what they will do next. Dunk is definitely not in this country and what his mother said to him before, as expected, is a total lie.

Pond knows Daniel, Dunk's old roommate when he lived here. He is an informant for both Joong and Pond to search for Dunk's traces in this country. Even though he is currently on a trip to Singapore - his homeland- and not in this country, he was helping them a lot.

From him, Joong knows the places that Dunk loved to visit here. He went to each place one by one. From his favorite coffee shop, his place to do gym every weekend, to his favorite's Thai restaurant whenever he misses his homeland's authentic food, and one of his favorite's place was a big and old library in the center of the city.

He definitely loves reading.

This trip somehow makes Joong feel closer to Dunk and to his world before their encounter even though he still can't find him anywhere. But his ghosts are everywhere in this city, this city is definitely his aesthetic. It feels like Joong is swimming into Dunk Natachai's world.

"I will take care of the administration first, friend. After everything is finished, I will go back here and we can go back to our hotel. Just stay here."

Joong smiles at Pond and says thank you.

Even though sometimes they look like they don't care, they are very great friends. Joong was indeed experiencing hell with the disappearance of Dunk Natachai, his heart aches every single day, his head is dizzy because of so much stress and lack of sleep he experienced this past month. He didn't know how he survived his life this time but one thing he knew was that he lived miserably and his two best friends wanted to be with him so he didn't experience it alone.

He is very grateful and thankful for them.

Phuwin once asked him, will he give up on searching for Dunk one time? After how long?

A very logical and practical person like Phuwin made him realize that this hell he is currently living will be over one day. But he doesn't know how it will end. Dunk is coming back to his life or Dunk is walking away from him forever?

Joong still believes in Dunk.

The end of this story will be; Dunk is coming back to him and they will live their life happily, as a couple, a partner, a soulmate, and a... mate.

It's okay to still have faith, right?

If it's not for faith, how can someone live their life in their moment of darkness?

It feels like he finally sees a ray of light at the end of his dark and empty tunnel.

He never feels this alive for the past month.

His heart is full of longing and anticipation of finally meeting Dunk again.

And this time, it's not a dream.

When the last time he dreamed of Dunk in this same room, his dream was so sad he didn't even want to say it to Pond. Dunk in his dream was too broken and sad and it hurts him also to see him in that state. Joong hopes that he is okay and everything is going to be back as before, when they were all happy and complete.

Joong looks at the clock on the wall and it shows him that he only needs 3 hours more to see Dunk. He needs to go there faster, he doesn't want to be late and makes Dunk wait for him so he searches for bags and his key to his and Pond's rented car while they are here. He texts Pond saying that Dunk is in this city and he messaged him to meet him in a place he chooses, Pond isn't replying to him yet maybe because he is busy with Joong's hospital administration. Joong feels sorry because he gives Pond so much trouble when they are here, now the man must take care of Joong's belongings and his hospital administration.

When it is all over, Joong promises himself that he will give Pond and Phuwin free tickets to South Korea since Pond is always saying that he wants to go there.

Joong enters his rented car and sets a GPS to the address that was sent by Dunk before.

Joong reaches that place in short and he loves to see the building's aesthetic. The main building is surrounded by glass so people from outside can peek at the activities inside the building. The architecture is modern but also so classy, it gives him a cold ambiance for some reasons but when you enter you can see the things that can't be seen outside even though the building's wall is made from glass. It's mysterious but he wants to see more, to explore more of this place. And after thirty minutes just looking around, Joong feels warm by every collection that was shown in this place.

This place reminds him of Dunk.

When he looks at one of their abstract painting collections, the bland of rich vanilla and warm coconut, a slight fragrance of aloe vera, lily of the valley, and chamomile hits his senses like no other. And that is the exact moment he feels he can breathe again.

Dunk is co-existing in his world again.

He turns his back with so much happiness to see him standing there, looking at him.. coldly .

Dunk looks thinner than Dunk in his memory, his face is still as handsome as he remembered him but there is something different in his face. His eyes, the eyes that can make Joong go insane in any second, also feel different . Joong looks at his eyes and he sees the darkness there, no more excitement and happiness that he saw there before.

Dunk is changing in front of him.

He is still the Dunk Natachai he loves so much but at the same time, he feels different. And Joong hates the coldness that starts spreading from the bottom of his heart.

"This place is going to close in one hour." He opens his mouth and Joong hates his cold tone of voice. He looks like he is faking something with his coldness to Joong right now.

Dunk looks up to his eyes but after only one second he throws his gaze away as if he can't see directly into Joong's eyes. The way he sees Joong feels so different and yet so familiar.

"Dunk." Joong walks one step ahead, tries to close their gap but Dunk walks one step behind.

There is a sound of something breaking inside him.

"I know, I know you deserve all the explanation. One time we were fine and suddenly I went missing."

Is Dunk trying to talk to him in a public area?

He can choose any cafes or restaurants so they can talk more comfortably. All of these places, why an art museum with so many people surrounding them right now?

"Can we go to some place that is more private to talk?" Joong asks, once again trying to go near him but Dunk walks one step behind again.

"I will talk in this place, Joong."

Joong tries to understand him and nods even though he doesn't understand. But he tries to be patient once again.

"Everything went too fast in our relationship. I met you, I fell in love with you, and suddenly I gave myself to you. I should have known that everything in this kind of pace will also disappear in a blink of an eye."

What is he trying to say?

"Joong in an instant, I also fell out of love with you. This past month, I was rethinking my life choice and I thought, we shouldn't be together."

Joong walks one step ahead and when Dunk wants to walk one step behind he holds his hand. The omega shivers from the unexpected touches and Joong doesn't care. When there are only two of them, he releases his dominating pheromone and Dunk is shaking because of that. This reminds him of their first encounter on Pond and Phuwin places but this time, Joong is intentionally spreading his pheromone.

Dunk looks up to him, still with the same cold attitude he tries to wear since he landed his eyes on him. He looks straight into his eyes, Joong only looks at him, waiting . His eyes are shaking and he is so uncomfortable to look at Joong's eyes.

He tries to cover so many things inside him and says the word.

"Let's break up, Joong."

Joong almost laughs.

Dunk can't lie to him.

"How can you look like you want to cry so badly when you said that harsh word to me, Dunk?"

Dunk looks down again and tries to release his right hand from Joong's grab.

"Do you really want to break up with me?" Joong asks once again. He knows that Dunk might be lying, but his words stab his heart like no other. He starts to feel the pain.

What has he ever done wrong to deserve this? Whenever he loves someone, all he gets is only pain. His parents, now his lover.

Why is this world so harsh to him?

Does he not deserve any happiness?

He loves Dunk so much he can trade anything for him, but this time he feels hatred toward this omega.

Not because of his disappearance, not because of him wanting them to break up, but because Dunk was leaving Joong totally alone in this. He doesn't talk to him, he doesn't give him any explanation, it makes Joong feel like Dunk doesn't believe him that much to share his burden with him.

Dunk is finally aware that Joong can do anything to him. It's not in his nature to always be patient and yield to him. Joong can always take control and demand everything.

Just like what happened when Joong almost impregnated him in that bathroom.

That time, at the last moment, he gained his control again over his mind and his body. He knew how to stop and control his own needs.

But right now, Joong doesn't think he can't stop himself when there is so much anger, disappointment, pain, and sorrow he built up for at least these past one month. But one thing that triggers him the most is the sight of Dunk walking away from him again if he doesn't do anything.

And with that he drags Dunk's with him to his car.

"Joong, where are you going to take me?" Dunk asks him in panic once Joong starts driving his car. He looks scared but he tries to act calm.

But Joong doesn't answer. There are so many things happening inside him right now. He becomes so sensitive because suddenly he can feel everything. All the things he kept suddenly explode inside him makes him realize how he loves and hates Dunk at the same time.

The sound of his phone's ringing is getting on his nerves.

He looks besides and sees that his mother is trying to call him.

His mother, someone who looks like a mastermind of his and Dunk's suffering.

Joong knows he does something bad, but he just hates it if someone is going to be on his way and takes Dunk away from his life again.

So he snatches Dunk's phone from his hands and throws it outside from his car's window.

Dunk is shocked by the sudden move but Joong's cold and silent glare at him makes him not say anything.

Joong doesn't know where to go, he just drives his car to an unknown place. Dunk is still sitting nervously beside him, he knows if he does or speaks something. It will trigger Joong so much, because that alpha besides him is already losing his control over himself when he said that he wants to break up. All Joong sees right now is in the color of red and he is raging.

Dunk knows that.

After more than an hour on the road, Joong stops at one hotel in a suburban area. He grabs Dunk's hand again and drags him inside with him, he grabs it so tight because he fears that Dunk will run away from him again.

He opens the door of their hotel room and locks it right away. He looks at Dunk who is looking at him nervously. His shaking eyes show him that he is fully aware that he won't ever win over Joong. A raging Joong in this case.

Joong looks at his neck deeply and feels something on his stomach. His beautiful neck is too empty for his liking.

Why didn't I mark him yet?

Maybe he won't run away from him again if he does that.

Joong walks closer and again Dunk walks away, until he can't, because there is a large bed behind him.

Joong smirks.

"You can't run away from me again, Dunk."

Joong pushes his omega on the bed and straddles him.

He will do anything just to make Dunk stay with him, even though he will hate him in the future. He doesn't care. Because Dunk was already giving him a spoiler, how to live a life without him on it. It was only a month and Joong was tasting hell.

He doesn't want to visit that place called hell again, so he will do anything in his power to make Dunk stay with him.

He can lock him up, if that's what it takes to make Dunk stays with him.

HELLO EVERYONE HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How was it? is this chapter okay? this basically my favorite chapter so far, i'm so excited to write this but i had no time to write these past days so sorry for the slow update. but it's finally here! what do you think of it? and for the next two chapters (at least) we gonna see on Dunk's point of view so the story will be going back for awhile. what happened to Dunk in this one month of his MIA era? is anyone curious about it? hehehe so calm down, we gonna see what will happen to Joong and Dunk in that hotel room in the next three or four chapters hehe
