It's not like Pond is mad at anything.

No, you're so wrong if you think that Pond Naravit is mad at his two best friends.

Pond isn't mad at neither Joong nor Dunk. They are both Pond's best friends before anything, and he isn't in the position where he should be mad. So what if two of your best friends suddenly show an interest in each other? Even though in Joong and Dunk's case it was a little bit weird.

Pond is happy if finally Joong finds someone that he can share his deepest feelings with, which he couldn't share with Pond. He knew, he always knows that Joong is covering so many things in front of him. Not in a bad way of course, but sometimes Pond was always wondering why Joong's eye bags were getting darker and darker each year he knew him.

And for Dunk, his high school bestfriend that he thought was an alpha like him. Pond wasn't mad at Dunk because he didn't tell him the truth regarding his second gender. Truthfully, Pond was so disappointed in himself. Why didn't he notice that? Why couldn't he? Why could Joong know it in such a short time and he couldn't in at least 3 years of them meet each other almost everyday in highschool? Pond is also happy if Dunk found someone he is comfortable to share his secret with.

He is happy for them.

And yes, only a blind man who can't see if there is something between Joong Archen and Dunk Natachai. Pond was only meeting them together once and he knew. The way Joong saw Dunk on that day; all the longing, loving, protectiveness, possessiveness, and the adoration he showed to his omega was something he ever experienced before. So, he knew.

When he met Phuwin for the first time, that man was so mad at him. Not mad, more like he went on rampant. The first word he heard from Phuwin's mouth was a cursing word directed to him. It was because Pond unintentionally bumped his car into Phuwin's new car.

But that time, he almost couldn't hear the sequences of Phuwin's cursing because he was so mesmerized by the existence of Phuwin Tangsakyuen. He felt like everything made sense and nonsense at the same time. His feelings for that hella crazy smart omega was so strong and so sudden at the same time. And it was just easy for him to accept that he wanted that man to be his companion. He wants to be always with him every single day.

Phuwin, on the other hand, almost punched him because the man who damaged his newly purchased car was only frozen at his spot and looked like someone who wouldn't give him his responsibility.

His story and Phuwin was so chaotic and both Joong and Dunk (in different continents of this world) were always with them from the beginning. He also wants to be with his two best friends in their story of life.

All this time, he wasn't mad. He was waiting.

He waited for Joong and Dunk to call him, to explain everything. Pond has so many questions about them. Where did they first meet? Did they know that they were somehow connected to each other by becoming a friend of Pond Naravit? If Dunk is an omega, how could Pond not know it? Why doesn't he have an omega's pheromone?

The last big question is... why did they call Phuwin and not him?

He knew that. Phuwin and him didn't keep secrets from each other.

"Dunk is in heat and he is with Joong."

He still remembered how Phuwin said that in a very careful manner, one thing he rarely saw from his mate. Phuwin always knew that Pond has some special connection with Dunk in a platonic way. Sometimes he gets jealous with it but by the time going he now understands that before Phuwin and Joong, Dunk was Pond's very first best friend.

"You have this possessiveness over Dunk. Somehow I thought that if you knew earlier that Dunk is an omega, you wouldn't fall for me."

One thing that most people don't know about Phuwin is he easily gets anxious over something. And God creates Pond perfectly for that man because Pond is someone who is good at communicating so he won't let Phuwin's anxiety getting bigger than it should.

"No. If I had known that Dunk was an omega earlier, I wouldn't fall for him either. My relationship with Dunk wasn't like that, Phu. And won't be like that."

And it's true. Pond only belongs to Phuwin, that's the reality he always knows.

"Pond, they are coming." Phuwin is calling him and Pond smiles at him then directs his eyes on the front door of this cafe.

When Dunk called him, they agreed to meet at a cafe near the university. It's pretty empty at this time so it's comfortable to talk.

Pond looks at Joong first. He looks tense when he sees Pond and he tries to smile.

They really think that Pond is mad at them and it really shows.

They sit in front of him and Phuwin and before Joong opens up his mouth. Pond opens his first.

"To make it clear, i don't mad at either of you."

Dunk is the one who talks to him first. "Pond, I'm sorry." He looks like he feels so bad for Pond and Pond observes when Joong inhales his breath, he looks at Dunk worrily. Then somehow, he releases his calming pheromones.

So... Dunk has his own omega pheromone.

"You have a scent, right, Dunk? And somehow, Joong can smell that but I can't? That's why I never knew that you were an omega." Pond laughs it off and seeing how Pond's laugh it melts the air around them.

"Yeah, that's why he belongs to me and not to you, Pang Pond." Joong opens his mouth, tries to joke, Pond gets it but not Phuwin. Phuwin gives Joong his side eyes.

"Sorry, I exist here." Phuwin's offensive tone makes all of them laugh.

"So, what is it? What is happening between you? Mind to tell?" Pond asks again after they are all ordering something from the menu and waits for the food to be served at their table.

Mostly Dunk is the one who tells them the story. Pond is amazed by all the information he gets today from two of his best friends. To put it simple; Joong can't smell any omega's pheromones (that's why he never showed any interest in any omegas, this man!) but somehow he can smell Dunk's pheromone and it only works for Joong because Dunk's pheromone can't be smelled by any other alphas, except for Joong.

What a fairytale.

Dunk is talking about their first interaction and the fact that they are.... neighbors.

All this time Pond is listening to them, it seriously feels like watching a series. How can everything work so perfectly for them? As if the universe makes a grandeur way to make these two meet. Everything fits perfectly.

Meanwhile, his first encounter with Phuwin...

Sigh, Pond is self pitying himself.

Dunk intentionally skips the details of his first heat. But by the way Joong can't help but smile and Dunk trying not to blush makes Pond want to roll his eyes. He can see that these two are really glued to each other. When they had their seats, there was some space between them. Now, it's gone. Dunk hands also somehow end up in Joong's hold. Joong is caressing his hand in a calming manner while Dunk is talking. Joong's eyes never leave Dunk's face and Pond is having a feeling that he will be sick of these two in the near future.

He didn't know that Dunk is also a clingy type, he can read Joong but Dunk is unexpected for him.

Trying his luck, Pond reaches Phuwin's hand under the table.

When their hands touch, Phuwin is immediately looking at his direction and glaring at him. Pond can read his glare, ' What the hell are you doing?! We are in public!'. He pulls his hands away and Pond sighs again.

Dunk is still talking about how he feels sorry not to find Pond earlier because there were so many things that happened in his and Joong's life. When he says that now they're living together, for the first time Pond gives them his judging face. Then he looks at Joong's hand on Dunk's waist and they seem so comfortable with it.

"So are you two like.... ugh.. dating, right now? Isn't it too fast?" Phuwin finally opens his mouth and judges them right away. Good job my lovely boyfriend! His judging faces and question are indeed needed at the moment.

Pond wants to voice out his disbelief because he needed a freaking year to make Phuwin accept him and they are finally living together and these two crazy people.. Somehow, need only.. What? Several weeks? It was less than a month!

Universe, why are you so unfair to him?

"No, we aren't dating..." Dunk clarifies but then Joong is adding his statement by the word;

"Yet."

Pond and Phuwin both roll their eyes at the same time.

"Then.. why?"

Dunk is blushing hard right now and this is the first time Pond sees him like this. Dunk rarely loses his composure, seeing him all stutter and keeps looking at Joong as if he needs his help to explain things. He looks like he wants to confess that he is pregnant with Joong's baby.

OR HE IS?!

Pond is flabbergasted.

"No... no.... You can't get pregnant that fast, Dunk Natachai! What the hell..."

Both Joong and Dunk give Pond's a shocking face after his statement. Dunk's face is so red that Pond can't differentiate him with the red apple decoration behind his back. Phuwin elbows him hard. "Your way of thinking is so weird, Pond Naravit!"

"Ugh! It's possible.."

"No, no, of course i'm not pregnant, we don't even do-"

Joong coughs and Dunk gives his attention to Joong.

"I have trouble sleeping, and Dunk can help me with that. That's why we're living together."

Dunk nods eagerly. "Yes, yes, because of that!"

Pond smiles at Dunk, he rarely sees this side of him. It's refreshing. Seeing Dunk panicking and not knowing what to say is refreshing. And yeah, Pond was right. Joong is indeed having sleeping issues. He just didn't want to tell him that.

"You know, Joong." Ponds look at Joong. "I always want you to have someone that can be more than friends, someone that can be your true companion, i'm glad that i'm talking about Dunk all this time."

Joong smiles at him and nods.

Pond can see how much Joong loves and adores Dunk just from one hour of them talking together. Their gestures, their eyes whenever they reach each other. Phuwin is whispering something to him when Dunk was pardoning himself to go to the toilet and Joong followed him after.

"Can you see that, Pond? How do they move? If Joong touches his food, Dunk is doing it right after him. If Dunk smiles, not long Joong will also smile. Maybe they didn't realize it, but they move synchronized together."

Phuwin is always more observant than Pond, he catched things Pond didn't catch.

"Yeah, and also.. They are looking good together. I will root for them. How about you, Phu?"

Phuwin looks like he is thinking about something and Pond patiently waits for him. When he looks at Pond's eyes, he smiles. Pond doesn't like this kind of smile on Phuwin's face.

"Hmmmm... i wanna see them more to see whether they will be good together or not, wanna ask them to join our trip in Chiangmai?"

"No. It is our trip, dear."

"C'mon, Phi Pond." Phuwin looks at him with his puppy eyes and Pond sighs.

Ok, Phuwin is wanting this badly because he suddenly calls Pond... Phi . And Pond is always weak on this side of Phuwin. "Phu.."

"Please, I want to be closer to Dunk. You also need to catch up with them, right?"

Pond is still not accepting this idea. "But we planned this for so long, it's our trip."

Phuwin is stubborn, he knows that well. When he wants something, he will get it no matter what. "We booked a whole house, Pond. It will be too big for the two of us. You know, the more, the merrier. And you said that Dunk will start his bachelor degree in two weeks right? Perfect time to have some short escape before the chaos comes."

Joong and Dunk are back on their seats again when Phuwin is still trying to persuade him with so many logical things. Typical Phuwin.

Pond looks at Phuwin and nods, he can see Phuwin's eyes lit up in excitement. Only time like this he remembers that Phuwin is the youngest of them four.

"Me and Pond will have a three day trip to Chiangmai in Friday, and I kinda want to invite you two to our trip. How does it sound?"

Joong is looking questioningly at Pond.

Isn't this your honeymoon trip with Phuwin? Why invite us?

Joong tries to relay this message by his confusing eyes.

I don't know. Phuwin wants it.

Pond is replying with his tired eyes.

"CHIANGMAI? MOUNTAIN?! I'M IN!" Dunk is so excited by Phuwin's proposal, he is almost screaming in the middle of this cafe. He looks at Joong's direction excitedly.

"Joong, I never go to the mountains. Mom always forbids me to have a vacation in a mountain area, I will come. You will also come, right? You don't have classes on Friday."

Joong smiles sweetly at his omega and nods. Of course he will do anything that Dunk's wants. He is head over heels to that man. Pond rolls his eyes again.

I hate you, Joong.

Pond is relaying his message again to Joong by his irritated eyes.

I love you, Pond. But I love Dunk more.

And Joong is giving him these fake innocent eyes to answer his statement.

Thanks to Phuwin's idea, a trip that should be Pond's honeymoon trip with Phuwin turns out into something like a double date trip. Pond just hopes that Joong and Dunk will tone down their touchy and clingy endeavors with each other because...

Phuwin is never that sweet to him if there is another pair of eyes in the room.

There is a famous word that Dunk really likes and also agrees with at the same time;

Good food, good people, good life.

When you eat good foods, it will make your life a little bit better. But if you eat good food with people you are comfortable with, it's perfect. Eating good food with people you aren't comfortable with, it will become such a pain in the ass. For example, at a company's dinner, no matter how delicious and fancy your food is if you eat it with your supervisor who is also complaining about your work at the dining table. Can it be called a good life? No, right?

So when he is laughing so hard at the dining table with Pond, Phuwin and Joong. He remembers the quote.

He is eating a very delicious northen's food with the good people he's comfortable with.

Dunk really wants to thank Phuwin for inviting him and Joong to this trip. Even though he was pretty amazed at how organized Phuwin is.

One day before the trip, he asked Joong and Dunk to join his google meet link. Joong was rolling his eyes at the request but they clicked the link anyway. That man is showing him a full presentation on powerpoint regarding their plan. Dunk is definitely in utter shock at how Phuwin plans this. Pond can definitely read Dunk's mind because he tries his best to hold his laugh. Since they will use Pond's car it will take almost 9 hours from Bangkok to Chiangmai, so they need to wake up early.

They will meet at Pond and Phuwin's apartment at 5AM.

Joong was complaining hard. "Phuwin, are you crazy?! Why is it so early?"

Phuwin didn't give his attention to Joong's complaint and continued to show the rundown of their trip. Basically they will have their breakfast and lunch at the restaurant on their way to Chiangmai. Approximately, they will arrive at the guest house at 3-4 PM. Then, leisure time, at 5PM they will start their journey to see the stars on the mountain above and have a camp there. Their first night trip is camping. Dunk didn't know this before.

Right now, they four are all in the restaurant to have lunch like what Phuwin planned before. They are laughing because Pond is currently telling a story about how he almost casted as an idol trainee for a boyband's in Thailand. That is something new for Dunk, he didn't remember Pond told him this before. And so for Joong.

They are all laughing while eating Northern Thailand's traditional food.

Everything feels good, their journey in Pond's car was also fun. They were talking nonstop, listening to music. He didn't expect Phuwin to be the one who started singing; they were all singing their hearts out in the car. It was so fun!

It's been so long since the last time Dunk had this freedom with his friends.

He feels like a free man.

He got a message from his mother on their road, she was back in Thailand already, faster than it should have been, and she wants to meet her son. Dunk didn't reply to her message, he didn't want his mother to ruin this trip. So, he turned off his phone. Joong definitely saw that because all the time, they were attached to each other at the back seat. He raised his eyes to Dunk and Dunk was only smiling to him.

Let Dunk handle his mother on Monday, after this trip is over.

Right now, he wants to be as happy as he can.

After finishing their lunch, they get back in Pond's car and continue the journey. Because of the fullness in their stomachs, all of them start to doze off. The only one who doesn't feel sleepy is definitely Joong Archen, so he asks Pond if he wants to change the position of the man behind the stir. Pond agrees immediately and has his seat on the back, Phuwin of course follows him. So, right now, the position is changed. Joong and Dunk are in the front side of the car.

Only need ten minutes after the change in their position for Pond and Phuwin to fall asleep. Dunk is trying his best not to sleep because he doesn't want Joong to feel alone in this car that was so chaotic before and right now is only full of the sound of Pond's sleeping.

Dunk feels like someone is reaching for his hand and before he looks at it he already knows that it's Joong's hand. He is so familiar with this big and warm hand.

"You can sleep, Dunk." Joong talks in a sweet and gentle voice that melts Dunk's heart.

"I don't want you to feel alone."

Joong smiles at him. "I have never felt alone since I met you."

That alpha is sincere with his word, Dunk can feel it. Joong rubs his hand with his thumb in a calming manner and he releases his gentle pheromone that feels like a lullaby for Dunk. He feels so sleepy, so he can't hold it anymore.

The last thing he feels before he totally follows Pond and Phuwin to dreamland is Joong kissing his hand that is still on his hold, gently and lovingly.

When he wakes up, for how don't know how long he sleeps, Dunk is in total shock because he wakes up in bed with Joong's arm as his pillow. Joong is sleeping soundly beside him.

They are arriving already?! Why didn't someone wake him up? So he sleeps for more than two hours? That's crazy Dunk, that's crazy.

Dunk detaches himself from sleeping Joong and tries to connect himself with his surroundings. He feels so thirsty so he wakes up from bed. His and Joong's bedroom, he assumes, it's so pretty. This place has a nature's theme, so the wall surrounding them was built with wood. He looks out at the balcony and the scenery of mountains and trees welcomes him.

He loves this already! Why did he never go to this side of the world all this time?

Seems like his and Joong's room is on the second floor of this house. He walks down the stairs to meet Phuwin at the kitchen area.

"How was your sleep, Phi Dunk?" Phuwin greets him with a smile and as if he can read Dunk's necessity, he offers him a glass of water. Dunk accepts it gladly. Right after he finishes his drink he asks Phuwin when they arrived here.

"We're still on track, we arrived at 3PM. Joong didn't want to wake you up so he carried you to your room."

Dunk feels shy about the information, he tries to change the subject. "Where is Pond?"

"Pond is out there searching for some woods for our camping's necessity, then he may prepare the tents for us to bring this night. I'm preparing food."

Dunk feels so bad, he didn't do anything. "Can I help you with something, Phuwin?"

"Of course, join me to prepare this meat. The alphas love meat so much." Phuwin laughs.

Dunk is fast to help Phuwin with the food. He wants to open up his mouth to have another conversation with Phuwin, but that younger man is doing that first. "So, how is Joong?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, what do you think of him? I already knew him for more than a year so I have this opinion about him. But you only knew him for less than a month. I kinda want to know what you think of him. Does it match with me who has known him longer?"

Phuwin is indeed a smart man, how he thinks and puts it into words is so sophisticated.

"Joong is a very fine man. He is gentle, funny..." Dunk remembers all of his time that he spent with Joong these past days and he smiles. "He loves physical touches because he feels lonely easily. But he respects me so much and he always puts my needs above his needs. He treats me as if I'm someone that is so important to him."

Phuwin gives him a little smile. "You are, he is so in love with you."

"Do you think so?"

"Yeah, it's the first time for us too to see this side of him. You know, I know from Pond that he never opened up his feelings for other people. I mean, in a romantic way, we thought that he would never pursue that. Until he met you, he loves you so much. We can see that."

Joong loves me that deep?

In this short period of time?

"But we only met for less than a month."

"And so what about it? Falling in love with someone can't be defined by measure of time. You meet someone and it just kind of hits you. You feel the thing for them that you can't feel for another person."

Dunk is amazed by how all of his confusion regarding his feelings for Joong is answered by Phuwin only with three sentences. Phuwin is smiling at Dunk's reaction.

"I fell in love with someone too, Phi Dunk. So I can tell you a spoiler about that." Dunk sees that Pond is coming towards them. The moment Phuwin realizes that Pond is here, Phuwin's eyes are never leaving that man. Pond smiles stupidly while waving his hand excitedly at Phuwin and Phuwin looks at him as if he hangs the stars above his head.

Ah.. so that is how it feels to be in love with someone.

Then, not too long, a loud stomp comes into his hearing senses and then he can see Joong Archen's panicked face is searching for him. When he sees Dunk is there with Phuwin he exhales his breath roughly, he looks like he held his breath for so long.

"Dunk! Please just wake me up the next time, seeing you not on my side when I open up my eyes scared the hell out of me."

Joong walks to him, his handsome face comes near him, his sweet smile is directed to him only and yes Phuwin...

He can also see the stars hanging up above Joong's head.

It's the time already for Dunk to accept that he is also falling in love with Joong Archen.

"This camping is such a bad idea, this one Pond's idea by the way. So blame him."

They were arriving late at the camping site. After preparing so many things, mostly tents and their foods for dinner, they finally could eat at 8.30 PM. Joong was bickering a lot with Pond and Phuwin hit them both to shut their mouths. Dunk was only laughing to see this scenery.

It was so chaotic yet so warm at the same time, he loves hanging out with Pond and Phuwin. And of course, with Joong.

They are now sitting in a circle near the campfire.

They don't talk, everyone is so quiet (after the chaos of their preparation of the tent and dinner, it seems like everyone is running out of energy) but everything feels so comfortable. Dunk loves this. Everyone looks lost in the moment and just adores how beautiful our nature is, with the many stars and clear sky above them.

It's so beautiful.

When Dunk looks up to the sky, he feels a warm hand is reaching for him. He looks aside and sees Joong is looking at him deeply. "Want to go with me, only two of us?"

Yeah, it's the right time to separate and have their own moment. Pond and Phuwin also need their time so Dunk nods at Joong's invitation.

They walk hand in hand to the other spot of this mountain. It's almost near the end of the road and this place has the clearest sky compared to their tents and campfire area. He can see everything from above here.

"It's so pretty here."

Dunk agrees with that statement. "We can see a lot of stars here."

Stars.

Suddenly Dunk feels a pang in his heart.

Dao.

Dunk looks up at the sky once more time and focuses on that one brightest star. He points it out with his finger and smiles bitterly. "My twin brother is there."

Joong looks at him. He doesn't say anything, as if he is waiting for Dunk to continue his words. "I had a twin brother, Joong. It's such a pity I can't introduce you to him, because he is no longer in this world."

The air surrounding them is suddenly changed by Dunk's statement and he can feel Joong's tense in his side.

"Dunk, I'm sorry."

"Nah it's fine." Dunk smiles to reassure Joong that everything is fine for him. "His name is Dao, yes... the star ."

"He has such a beautiful name."

Dunk nods. He remembers the reason behind it. "When he was born, father was so proud of him. Mother gave birth to a healthy alpha, the oldest one from two. So he named him 'star', he hoped that his oldest son would always shine whenever he goes. And for me.. My parents named me just because I couldn't stop crying the moment I came out from my mother's stomach."

So ironic even since the beginning.

Joong is doing his thing again with his pheromone, he can always sense it whenever Dunk feels even a little bit uneasy. He calms him in silence. Dunk is very thankful for this man, he looks straight into Joong's eyes and smiles. "Wanna hear about my brother?"

Joong nods and smiles at him.

"Dao and I really look alike, at least when we were children. But because he was an alpha, his body was built differently, he was more healthy and firm than I am. I got sick easily, Joong. That's why I need to go to the doctor to check up on my health regularly."

"You are not weak, Dunk." Joong comments and holds his hand tighter.

"But my parents didn't think of me that way, for them I'm just a weak omega. To be honest, I didn't have many memories of Dao. It felt like someone erased my memories about him. Everything was in pieces. I just knew that we didn't really have a harmonic relationship thanks to our parents who loved him more than me, and showed it to me."

Joong remains silent so Dunk continues his story. "I also don't know how to feel about him, his existence felt like a story told by other people to me. I didn't even remember how he died. My parents told me that he died due to a sickness which I don't remember what kind of sickness it is."

Dunk suddenly feels another pang in his heart.

As much as he hated him, why he hated him so much till he didn't even remember him. He was his twin brother, they brought to this world together, and when he left him alone to suffer in this world, why can't he remember it?

Dao is the biggest mystery in his life.

The pain starts soaring in his chest like a flare.

"Dunk." Joong tries to calm him.

"Maybe the reason why my parents always forbid me to go to the mountains is because they didn't want me to see stars too clearly because it always reminds them of their loving son who left them first. The star who couldn't shine again because his time was up."

After the pain, the cold is starting to creep on his heart. He looks at Joong frustratedly. "Why can't I remember him, Joong? Why ?"

Joong reaches up to his face and he sheds tears there. Is he crying? He didn't even realize.

"Your brain might not be remembering him, but your heart is."

"You love your brother so much, Dunk."

If it's true, then it may be the reason why Dunk feels like something just crushes his heart until it's hard for him just to breathe. Joong has already become his safe place where he can pour out all of his feelings, his hidden feelings. The feelings he tries to lock up somewhere in his heart for more than ten years. He tries so hard not to mind about his forgotten twin brother's death. But Dunk knows somewhere in his heart, he longs for his brother, he wants to remember him more, he wants to mourn him properly.

He wants to meet Dao again and say sorry for becoming a bad sibling for him.

Joong looks at him as if he can read all the holocaust on Dunk's heart right now. He pulls Dunk into a warm hug and he tries to console him by his touches and his pheromones.

"I want to meet him again and say goodbye to him properly, Joong." Dunk starts to sob and he cries his heart out. "I want you to meet him. I want him to know that his twin brother is already falling in love with someone."

Joong freezes at his place and Dunk can feel his heartbeat start to beat faster. He heard it right.

Dunk pulls out from Joong's embrace and looks at Joong's eyes deeply, he tries to explain all of his feelings for the man in front of him. Dunk is still crying because he feels so much at the same time. It's so overwhelming; he feels the longing and guilty feelings for his twin brother and the deep love he has for someone that came into his life, unpredictably .

Phuwin was right, falling in love with someone can't be defined by measure of time. You meet someone and it just kind of hits you. You feel the thing for them that you can't feel for another person.
