Finale

"But mother, I don't love him!" You retaliated at your mom.
"Younghyun's a great kid! He is the most compatible to your status, he studied abroad in Canada, got a Bachelor's in Business Management and more!" Your mother explained with a bit of irritation in her voice as if this wasn't the first time she told you this.
"Mother, I am 26! I'm not a child anymore and nobody can tell me who to marry or love." You said before slamming the door on your way out.
Yeah, your mother just set you up with a guy you never knew and she hoped you two would make such beautiful babies and all. It's the 21st century and shit like this still happens, huh? How ironic life can be? Tears form on your eyes as you take out your phone and dialed a number. The phone beeped three times before the other side picks up with a deep, masculine voice:
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"Can we meet up? I really need you right now."
The man on the other line is quiet for a while, probably sensed how troubled you are when you said that and replied with:
"I'll be there in 10." And hangs up the phone.
...
"Y/n! I'm here!" You hear a voice coming from him while he is running towards you.
"Dowoon oppa..." You also quickly run up and hug him as tight as possible.
He gently pats your head and give you a peck on the forehead, face full of worries. Yes, Dowoon is your dear boyfriend of six years; you met each other during sophomore year in university. Shockingly, you met at a mixer. But things went smooth and that's how you end up now.
Both of you sat down on a rock bench right there, with Dowoon's arm wrapped around your shivering body from all the sobbing and sniffing.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Mother set me up a blind date with some guy. I stormed out of the house and all. I hate myself so much and I don't even know why. Am I just that useless for mother to find an "intellectual" man and-" before you can finish your sentence, Dowoon puts a finger on your lips.
"No babe, you don't have to feel bad about anything. It's not your fault." He assured.
"But I could have disappointed Mother. I'm not living the life she wanted me to. You know how my family is. Mother and Father both wanted me to pursue law like them, and here I am studying Music. It was so difficult for them to accept the fact that I actually have a talent and passion for this, I was so grateful. And now this..." you sighed deeply.
"I get what you mean, my dad wasn't really open on the idea of music. He thought it was only a puberty phase. But yeah like you, I was persistent for so long they didn't care anymore." Dowoon told.
"How about, I take you back home and we can talk it out with your mom?" Your boyfriend insisted.
"That'd help me so much... Thanks, babe. " and kissed him softly on the lips as another thank you.
...
You're standing at the door, a little bit hesitant, but Dowoon's large hand squeezing yours tightly, mouthing everything's gonna be alright. You smile at him and pressed the doorbell.
"Oh my goodness, y/n! Where have you been and who is this?" Your mother asked with a confused face.
"Mother... I want you to meet my boyfriend, Dowoon. Also a Music major, like me." Your heart is beating like crazy, hoping a good scold from mother like You ungrateful child, why would you do this or Are you even serious about this. But no, nothing, your mother just stood there dead, trying to process everything you just said.
"Your boyfriend?" She asked coldly.
"Yes, mother. Therefore, you can't force me to meet anybody anymore." You confirmed.
"Ma'am, I promise you that I have taken good care of your daughter and I love her so very much-" Dowoon explained but got cut by your mother.
"I don't care whether you love her or not, you are not worthy for my daughter. You're also a musician or whatever you call yourself?" Your mother said in a mocking tone.
"Yes, ma'am. I belong to a band, and we are doing really well." He elaborated.
"Unfortunately son, you can't do this to my dear y/n. The music path is unstable, I can't risk her losing everything she has."
"Please ma'am would you please reconsider? We have been together for the past six years and there's nothing that we haven't gone through without each other. This is your daughter's happiness. This is what she wants. You want the best for her, and so do I, the only way for that is to listen to what she has to say." Dowoon said softly but with powerful feelings.
You're touched by the way he defended you, and cried. You definitely have found the love of your life.
"Please, if you love me, mother... Just this one more time." You pleaded.
Your mother rolls her eyes, and finally give in:
"Of course, I would always let you have the best of everything. But you better have a good explanation to your father, you know how harsh he can be with things. I'll let you kids talk among yourself." Not before she closed the door you can see a small grin on your mother's lips.
You burst into tears as you hear that, you couldn't believe that she could finally love Dowoon without all the hiding, all the secret meetings. Your tears streaming down from your puffy eyes, then being wiped away with Dowoon's thumb.
"You see, we did it. I will always be here for you no matter what. I will go through thick and thin with you." He said while cupping your cheeks.
"So babe, please be my finale?" He kneels down, holding your hands.
You nodded with happiness overwhelming you. You felt as if you're the luckiest girl in the world, nothing else matters at this point as you know that you and Dowoon can never ever be parted.
