At the beginning of the game you will get to choose a character type. Choose

from either a male or female character and then one of the three class types;

Mage, Warrior, or Rogue. After the opening scenes you are thrust into combat,

don't fret because the battles are simple and once everything is dead you will

progress to the real beginning of the story.

Once you regain control of Hawke outside of Lothering head down the path until

a band of Hurlocks attack the party. They are easily dispatched and Hawke should

gain a level. Search the nearby [DEAD REFUGEES] for a few items then continue

up the path. After the cutscene defeat the Darkspawn and then aid the other two

people down the way. Speak with Aveline and Wesley about what's happening then

agree to head south to the Wilds.

Continue your path to another [DEAD REFUGEE] and a mass of Darkspawn will

join the fray. Further up the path is another [DEAD REFUGEE] and more Darkspawn

that await your arrival. Be sure to take out the Hurlock Bolters first in this

battle then check the [RUBBLE] before continuing the path. Around the corner lie

another [DEAD REFUGEE] with various potions. Just past this unfortunate soldier

is an open area where Darkspawn ambush the group. A new enemy, the Emissary

Apprentice, appears amidst the group -- take this foe out first.

After the battle go south at the split to find two [DEAD REFUGEES] and a

[CHEST - SIMPLE]. Read the note, [THE KORCARI WILDS], nearby the refugee for a

codex update then continue down the other path at the split. Be sure to save as

you enter a battle against an Ogre. For this fight you are going to need to

micro-manage your Mage and Warrior. The Mage needs to stay at range and focus

on the Ogre until Darkspawn become too numerous, then simply use an Area of

Effect (AoE) skill such as Fireball. A Rogue should focus on blinding the group

of Darkspawn and also deal damage to the Ogre until it is dead.

Once the battle ends a cutscene occurs and you are thrust into combat once

again. Almost immediately another scene takes over where you will meet Flemeth.

When the cutscenes finish you regain control of Hawke at the Gallow's Courtyard

in Kirkwall.

You gain the quest [LONG WAY HOME] and are left outside the walls of Kirkwall.

Approach the large crowd to speak with Guardsman Wright who directs you to talk

to the Captain if you want in. Head up the stairs and follow the hallways until

you reach an opening in the courtyard. At the northeast end you will find a

merchant but you want to talk to Captain Ewald. After some words the nearby

deserters turn on the group and you are thrust, once again, into the midst of

battle.

After the scene check the [KIRKWALL - THE GALLOWS] monument for a codex

update. You need to find Meeran or Athenril in order to progress but the path

splits depending on whom you agree to aid. You can take up both sides but you

can only do one or the other to a certain degree.

Meeran's Path

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meeran needs you to find Lord Friedrich and assassinate him. You can either

out right kill him or inquire as to his deeds and convince him to pay you in

order for you to spare him. Receiving [2 SOVEREIGN] for his life however,

results in the men attacking you. This path also causes Meeran to be angry and

send you off without helping, thus leaving you to find Athenril.

Athenril's Path

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Athenril needs you to give a little visit to the merchant Cavril in the

market. You can fight Cavril and his men, extort him for the money, or use

Aveline to mediate and receive the [2 SOVEREIGN] from the chest without a

conflict.

Afterwards return to Gamlen for a series of events that lead into Act I.

Once scenes have completed you will regain control of Hawke in Hightown. Feel

free to check the shops around the northern sector of Hightown then make your

way to the middle and check the [KIRKWALL - HIGHTOWN] monument for a codex

update. Head to the Red Lantern District in the southeast to find a [BARREL]

then head to the west side of town to the Chantry Courtyard to find a [CRATE].

South of here is the Hightown Estates, a [CRATE] sits off the first alcove and

another [CRATE] can be found south of the first. There is a somewhat hidden

[CRATE] off the map on the west side of the Estates, accessed via a dark alley.

Head back out and enter the Chantry. Open the doors on the sides to find [THE

COMMANDMENTS OF THE MAKER] on the ground. Observe the ornate decoration of

[ANDRASTE: BRIDE OF THE MAKER] in the central area then head up the steps to

meet Grand Cleric Elthina. Check the altar stand for a book on [THE SERMONS OF

DIVINE RENATA I] then the book on the on stand behind it for [THE MAKER]. Head

up the steps to the north to find the book on [THE HISTORY OF THE CHANTRY:

CHAPTER 1]. Grab the [LOCKS OF THE GOLDEN FOOL] from the nearby bed stand to

start the Side Quest. Open the door nearby to find a book on [THE FOUNDING OF

THE CHANTRY].

Go around to the north side to find the book on [PAR VOLLEN: THE OCCUPIED

NORTH] then you can leave the Chantry. Head over to The Blooming Rose in the

Red Lantern District. Open the doors and head along the southern end until you

find a [CHEST] that contains a [DESIGN: RUNE OF LIGHTNING]. Continue into the

next room to find a [BARREL] and [CRATE] then enter the actual bar area. Read

the book on [THE ANDERFELS] and if you can open the [CHEST - STANDARD] up the

stairs in the eastern room for some damage jewelries. There's not much else you

can do now but get to doing some of the main quests and making enough money to

become partners with Bartrand so head south to the Viscount's Keep.

To your immediate right is a note on the [HIERARCHY OF THE CIRCLE], grab it

and head up the steps to the northern end. Through a door you will find a book

about [THE LLOMERRYN ACCORDS]. Go through the western door to find a [BOTTLED

SCAR 5:34 EXALTED] on the table and a [CHEST - STANDARD], the former starting a

Side Quest. Head to the southern area now where Aveline is located, ignore her

for the time being and scope out the room. Nearby is a shield detailing [THE

KIRKWALL CITY GUARD]. Open the door to find a book on [A STUDY OF THE FIFTH

BLIGHT, VOL. ONE] on the table. In the western-most room is a [CHEST - SIMPLE]

with basic loot. Speak with Aveline now that you have raided her area and agree

to aid her to start the Companion Quest [THE WAY IT SHOULD BE].

The Way It Should Be [04.04.01]

Head east to find a book on the [CHANTRY HIERARCHY] then leave the area,

moving to the Sundermount Ambush Site. Head around the bend and then south,

fighting off the small groups of Raiders as you make your way to a [CHEST].

Follow this path and you will find an [ELFROOT] as well as some Raiders. Go

north up a small path to find some [RUBBLE] then head back down and make your

way west to a [PILE OF BONES]. Further ahead is where the ambush will occur, be

sure to focus on the Raider Assassin first and pick off the Raider Archers as

they enter the fray. Be cautious of the [TRAP - SIMPLE] placed around the area.

Return to the Viscount's Keep and let Aveline report in. Afterwards check the

[DUTY ROSTER] to trigger an event. Leave the area and head to Lowtown at night.

Observe the [KIRKWALL - LOWTOWN] monument and [A BADLY COPIED LEAFLET] then

check the [SACK] to the south. This position will most likely trigger a swarm

of Sharps Highwayman to attack. Sift your way through the group and defeat the

enemies that strike. Make your way to the Elven Alienage in the northeast of

Lowtown where you will find a large group waiting. Check the [KIRKWALL - THE

ELVEN ALIENAGE] monument, [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL], and a [SACK] in this area

before heading back to the south.

Around the corner to the south is a [BARREL] and Samson should be within view.

Nearby is the ambush point, head there and defeat the Coterie Thugs and their

Leader to rescue Guardsman Donnic. Loot the Coterie Leader for [THE BANN'S

BACKHOUSE DOOR] then check the two [CRATES] before heading back to the Keep.

Upon returning, Aveline receives the good news and the quest is completed. From

here it is best to go to Lowtown and complete the quests there.

As you enter Lowtown be sure to check out the wares of the various shops. To

your immediate south is Lady Elegant who will provide you with the [ELFROOT

POTION RECIPE]. Within eyesight is the Elven Vintner to whom you can give the

Bottled Scar 5:34 Exalted to finish the quest. Head around the bend to a

[BARREL] then north past the shops to a [CRATE]. Nearby is the entrance to

Lirene's Ferelden Imports, enter the building and check the second room for a

[CRATE]. Leave the building and head to the Old City Slums in the north to find

another [CRATE].

Birthright [04.05.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head up the steps nearby to enter Gamlen's House. This completes the quest

[A NEW HOME?] and starts [BIRTHRIGHT]. Speak with Mother then with Bethany or

Carver to progress the quest. Enter the southern room and read the book on [THE

CARDINAL RULES OF MAGIC] then leave the house and enter Darktown. Check the

[RUBBLE] as you enter and head up the stairs to start a fight. Read the book on

[THE TEVINTER IMPERIUM] to the east and then the [KIRKWALL - DARKTOWN] monument

further along.

Head up the stairs to find a [SACK] then head west and speak with Tomwise

who will give you the [FORMULA: DEBILITATING POISON]. Further west you can turn

in the Locks of the Golden Fool quest. Head back to the northeast and if you

can, open the locked doors. Read the book on the [HISTORY OF KIRKWALL: CHAPTER

4] then head back out and enter the Amell Estate Cellar. Loot the [BARREL] then

advance into the next room where you are attacked. Read the book on the [HISTORY

OF KIRKWALL: CHAPTER 1] then check the [CRATE] in the corner.

The eastern room holds a [CRATE] and a [BARREL] with minor items inside. Go

north up the steps and fight off more Guards, then open the [CHEST]. In the

room to the south is a [CRATE], a [CHEST] containing a [PORTRAIT OF YOUR

MOTHER] which starts the quest [PORTRAIT OF THE PAST], and a crest of [THE AMELL

FAMILY]. Leave the room and go south where more attacks occur, fend off the

enemies and loot the [CRATE] then head south into a small room. Loot the two

[SACKS] then read the book [HISTORY OF KIRKWALL: CHAPTER 2].

Continue west into a large room where a battle ensues against a Master Slaver.

There is a large trap going across the room, be sure to disable it at the start

of the fight. Focus down the Master Slaver as he can teleport and put a hurting

on the group. Afterwards, loot his corpse for the [VAULT KEY] and an [IMPERIAL

BLOODHELM]. Open the [CHEST - SIMPLE] in the corner for the [MASK OF THE

IMPERIUM] then make your way west. Read the [HISTORY OF THE CIRCLE] and check

the two [CHESTS] to find the [TORN SLAVER INVOICE]. Return to Gamlen's House

to complete the quest.

Portrait of the Past [04.05.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speak with Bethany or Carver after completing Birthright to give the gift and

wrap up this quest. Check the Writing Desk to acquire two Secondary Quests

called [THE BONE PIT] and [LOOSE ENDS] if you choose to accept.

The Bone Pit [04.05.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before you head out be sure to check out the rest of Lowtown. Head to the

Elven Alienage to the northeast for a codex update then read the book on the

[ALIENAGE CULTURE] found near the large tree. If you head back south where you

found Samson at night time you will find [SPINDLEWEED] in a corner. North of

here in the Foundry District is a pile of [RUBBLE] waiting to be looted. With

loose ends tied up, venture back to Hightown and speak with Hubert.

Agree to investigate the situation at The Bone Pit then leave Hightown and

go to The Bone Pit. Check the [RUBBLE] then the ["BEARDED BEAST" ARINTAL'S

REMAINS] to start a quest. Follow the path until you come across a band of

Looters. Defeat them and search the [CORPSE] and [BARREL] then look south for a

[PILE OF BONES] and [THE BONE PIT] marker. Further east is another [PILE OF

BONES] and a book about [NEVARRA]. Continue east then north at the split to find

a [CRATE]. Go south to find [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL], [ELFROOT], and some

[RUBBLE]. Return to the central area and loot the [BARREL] before entering The

Bone Pit Mines.

The party is thrust into combat against several Dragonling and a Dragon.

Defend yourself then loot the [PILE OF BONES], inspect the [REFINED LYRIUM],

and loot some [RUBBLE]. Progress south up the steps, be sure to loot the [CRATE]

as you go. Defeat the Dragon and Dragonlings at the top of the steps and check

the [RUBBLE] and [SACK] for a [HELM OF VICTORY]. Continue upwards defeating the

continuous flow of Dragonlings. Loot the [SACK] in the open area for [EUSTICE'S

POMMEL] to start a quest. On the second tier of this area is a [DEEP MUSHROOM],

be sure to pick it up before marching onward.

At the top more Dragonling strike, once defeated progress to the [RUBBLE] to

find a [GALLOWS SLAVE FINGER-CUFFS]. A little further and the group runs into

a survivor. After speaking with him check the upper ledge for a [PILE OF BONES]

and a [CRATE] with more [GALLOWS SLAVE FINGER-CUFFS]. Move out to The Bone Pit

Ledge once you are ready for a fight.

| This battle will be initiate as soon as you enter the area. For the most |

| part you want to have no more than two melee for this fight and at least |

| one healer. Have your tank initiate while you move the rest of the group in |

| to more formidable positions. The ranged should be as far back as possible |

| and any melee should be attacking from the side, never the front or the |

| direct back as to avoid taking damage from Fire Breath and Tail Swipes. The |

| Roar ability will stun an unusually large area, be sure to keep Taunt ready |

| for such occurences. If things start to go wrong you can always kite the |

| Dragon around the area while the ranged do damage. Heal when necessary and |

| keep focused on avoiding damage to make short work of your first dragon. |

After the battle loot the Mature Dragon and then the nearby [RUBBLE] for a

[HELM OF VICTORY]. Return to Hubert and agree to join in on the mining business

to immediately start the quest [GET BACK TO WORK].

Get Back to Work [04.05.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest is simple enough, head to Lowtown and seek out the miners. Once

you find them, convince them to return to work.

Loose Ends [04.05.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Depending on who you sided with in the Prologue (Athenril or Meeran) this

quest is different. If you sided with Athenril you will find her in the Red

Lantern District in Hightown where she will explain the issue. You should

receive a codex update on [THE CARTA] for speaking with her. Head to The Docks

at night to start a fight with numerous Coterie. Once you save Pryce you can

either retrieve the goods or let Pryce have them to start a new life. If you

let Pryce go then you will receive no coin when you return to Athenril, but

you can tell her whatever you want to save some face.

Magistrate's Orders [04.05.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last Secondary Quest to spawn from this Main Quest can be started in

Hightown outside the Chantry. Speak with Magistrate Vanard to receive news of

an escapee. Leave Hightown and go to the Abandoned Ruins where you will speak

with Elren and Nabil about what's going on. You can choose whatever options you

want at this point since you will be given an ultimatum later regarding the fate

of the fugitive. Search the [RUBBLE] on the ledge and enter the Ruined Passage.

As you move down the hall you will spot Giant Spiders off to the side. Go east

and defeat the Raiders then open the [CHEST - STANDARD] to find the [MONT DE

GLACE STRAND]. Backtrack and go north where you fought the Giant Spiders to be

ambushed by more along with some Venomous Spiders. Loot them to receive the

[SPIDER'S SILK GLAND] Plot Item then search the [CHEST] in the corner. Continue

north until you reach a [PILE OF BONES] then go east to a dead end where you

will spot a [CHEST] guarded by a [TRAP - MASTER] directly infront of it. Disarm

the trap if you can and fend off the Giant Spiders that spawn behind you. Loot

the chest for a [PEWTER PENDANT OF WOLVES HOWLING AT THE MOON]. Return to the

junction and open the southern door into a large room.

A slew of enemies emerge in this room to include an Arcane Horror. Target the

ranged first and keep your own ranged safe from harm. If you need to back out

into the smaller hallway and funnel the enemies so that they are easier to

control. There is a [CHEST] and a [PILE OF BONES] in the room in addition to the

plethora of dead creatures you can loot. Go south to find Lia, alive and well.

As you move east there are two [TRAP - STANDARD] in the way, disarm them or else

they spring enemies on both sides.

As you follow the path you will run into Kelder. If you choose to kill him

then you can leave immediately, otherwise a chase begins. Backtrack to the large

room to find a new powerful enemy waiting, the Revenant. Defeat the foes then

exit at the north then return to the Magistrate.

Head to Lowtown and enter The Hanged Man with Varric in the party. Talk to

Varric to complete the quest and receive a codex update on [THE GREY WARDENS].

With the quest completed it moves on to [TRANQUILITY] but before you do that

search The Hanged Man for a [CHEST] in a room in the northwest to get the [SHAWL

OF DALESDOTTIR]. Across the hall from this room is another with a [BARREL] and

book on [MALEFICARUM]. The final room you can access has a [CRATE], loot it and

return to Gamlen's House and check the Writing Desk. Read the note to get the

Secondary Quest [BAIT AND SWITCH].

Bait and Switch [04.06.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: If you betrayed Meeran then he could be waiting for you just south of

Gamlen's House. Be ready for a fight if this is the case.

Leave Gamlen's House and enter Lowtown at night. Meet Anso the Contact in the

Lowtown Bazaar and agree to help out. Enter the Abandoned House in the Elven

Alienage, beware the [TRAP - STANDARD] to your right as you enter. Open the

eastern door to find a [CRATE] then go through the southern one. Defeat the

Street Thugs and check the chest to find that it's empty. As you leave the house

you are surprised by a group of Tevinter Hunters.

After the battle you will meet Fenris. Agree to aid him and head to Hightown

at night. If you haven't search Hightown at night before then you can find a

[CRATE] in the Red Lantern District. You can find Fenris in the Noble Estates

just past the Chantry. After the scene Fenris is locked into your party and you

must choose the other members. Once inside Danarius's Manor be sure to set up

Fenris' abilities. Move to the door and disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] then fight

off the Shades that attack.

As you move north into a larger room beware the numerous [TRAP - STANDARD]

that line the floor. Force the Shades to follow you into the previous room for

a safer fight. The Rage Demon should be a top priority during this fight, but

nothing that you can't handle. Back in the large room head up the steps and into

the room on the left. Open the [CHEST - STANDARD] then enter the room on the

right to find a [CHEST]. Head back down the steps and go north until your reach

a room with a [CHEST]. Loot it after defeating the Shades then go east.

Check the northern room first to find two [CHESTS], one holding a [STRING OF

PEARLS]. Enter the eastern room and defeat another group of Shades accompanied

by a Rage Demon. Loot the Rage Demon for the [MAGISTER'S KEY] and search the

[CHEST]. Return to the large room where you went up the steps, this time open

the middle door. Doing so spawns an Arcane Horror and more Shades, be sure to

prioritize the Arcane Horror first. After the battle a scene occurs and you are

left to raid the three [CHESTS] for a [SLAVER LORD'S COWL] and a [TORN SLAVER

INVOICE]. Return to Hightown where you have the option of recruiting Fenris

based on your dialogue choices.

Fenris Recruited [04.06.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head back into what is now Fenris' Mansion. Speak with Fenris to inquire as

to the situation. Various dialogue options will allow you to gain a boost in

Friendship or Rivalry as well as give you insight to his past. Read the book on

the [ADVENTURES OF THE BLACK FOX] then head up the steps in the next room to

find a book on [THE IMPERIAL CHANTRY]. In the middle room you can find notes on

the [HISTORY OF KIRKWALL: CHAPTER 3].

Move along to Lowtown and enter Lirene's Fereldan Imports. Speak with Lirene

to get word of Anders, a former Grey Warden. You can find Anders in Darktown in

the northeast corner healing a young boy. Agree to aid him though be wary of

what you say as it effects Friendship or Rivalry. If you've yet to explore the

area of Darktown then head south to the Abandoned Mining Tunnels. Down the steps

you will find [DEATHROOT] and further down near Danzig you will find [THE

REMAINS OF SISTER PLINTH] to start a quest.

Head to Hightown at night and meet Anders near the Chantry. Head down the hall

and up the steps to the south to find a [CRATE] in the western room. Karl is in

the northern part of the Chantry. Speaking with him triggers Templars to attack

and in the end Karl will die. You can recruit Anders into the party of the

scenes and you now have access to more Secondary and Companion Quests.

Questions and Answers [04.07.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head over to The Hanged Man to view a scene involving Isabela. Read the book

on [RIVAIN] in the corner then talk with Varric to complete this quest. On your

way out talk to Isabela to initiate the quest [FOOLS RUSH IN].

Fools Rush In [04.07.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head into Hightown at night and find Isabela in the middle of town. Talk with

her to have several Raiders attack. Kill them and loot the Ambusher to find

[HAYDER'S LETTER] then make your way to the Chantry slaying any who impede your

progress. Once you enter the Chantry you will be confronted with Hayder. The

battle could get a little messy so do your best to control the Raiders while

you deal with Hayder. Once everything is taken care of Isabela joins the party

and you gain the quest [ISABELA'S CONTACT]. Loot Hayder for [THE BODICE RIPPER]

and the [SAILOR'S ROPE BELT].

Return to The Hanged Man and talk to Isabela. Agree to help her out to finish

the quest and gain a new one, [FINDERS KEEPERS].

Find Martin in the back of The Hanged Man and aid him in his quest to get on

the straight and narrow. Venture to the Docks at day, if you haven't searched

the area be sure to head to the west and find a [CRATE]. You can find another

[CRATE] in the Eastern Warehouse District. In the southern end you will find

Arintal the Lesser to complete a quest if you picked up the item he needs. In

the far end of the Western Warehouse District you can find a [CRATE] and the

Shady Merchant.

Speak with the Longshoreman in this area who then directs you to Harbormaster

Liam. Unforunately, to get any more information you need to cough up 2 sovereign

or pass a threaten check. Head to the far east end and fight your way into

Woodrow's Warehouse. Open the [CRATE] and [BARREL] then go through the door. Go

through the eastern door here to find another set of [CRATE] and [BARREL]. Yet

another [CRATE] and be found by following the top railing to the southern end.

Head down the steps and disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] then defeat the Raiders as

they pour into the room. Search the [BARREL] in this room and the two [CRATES]

in the southern area. Go west towards the [CRATE] at the docks but disarm the

[TRAP - STANDARD] before opening it. Inside are some standard items and a

[SAMPLE OF MARTIN'S CARGO]. Head up the stairs to the north and search the two

[BARRELS] but disarm the [TRAP - STANDARD] before reaching the [CHEST]. Return

to Martin to finish the quest and receive a discount at his shop. Go through the

side door and search the [BARREL] then continue on to the next quest.

The First Sacrifice [04.07.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Hightown Market at day to find a [HELP WANTED!] sign near Worthy,

reading it will start the quest [THE FIRST SACRIFICE]. Head to the upper tier of

the Market to find Ghyslain de Carrac. Agree to help him then head to the

Blooming Rose at night. Here you can find Mais Dalesdottir to turn in a quest.

Find Jethann in one of the rooms upstairs to get some more information and find

the cleverly hidden [CRATE] containing the [STONE TOE] item near the wardrobe,

then head to Darktown. Upon entering Darktown again you will gain the quest

[TALK TO ANDERS].

Run to the meeting place at the southern end of Darktown. Defeat the Street

Thugs and talk to Emeric. Loot the [CRATE] and check the east side for a [PILE

OF BONES], another lies to the north. Head to Lowtown at night and check out the

Foundry District. In the Dark Foundry you will fight a Desire Demon and numerous

Shades and Abominations. When the battle is over head upstairs and into the

southern room. Disarm the [TRAP - STANDARD] and then open the [CHEST - STANDARD]

infront of it. To the northern end is a [SACK OF BONES] with [DESIGN: RUNE OF

FIRE] and [NINETTE'S RING].

Continue west to the room at the end to find a [CRATE]. Backtrack to the

northeast corner of the building to find a [SACK] and [BARREL]. Head to the

Gallows and talk to Emeric. Since you're here take the time to explore the

area, start by heading north and finding [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL]. You can find

the [DEATH OF A TEMPLAR] behind the Armor and Weapon shops and there is a Mage

Goods at the southern end.

Head off to Sundermount and follow the path until confronted by a group of

Giant Spiders. Defeat them and head south at the junction to find an [ELFROOT].

Continue west to enter the Dalish Camp and meet Keeper Marethari. Agree to aid

her and then start searching the camp. You should find books and notes on the

[VALLASLIN: BLOOD WRITING], [GEOGRAPHY OF THEDAS], [THE TALE OF ILOREN], and

[ARLATHAN: PART ONE]. Behind the shop is a [CRATE] containing the [MAP OF

OCCUPIED KIRKWALL]. Be sure to check out the Clan Craftmaster wares.

Head up the path to meet Merrill when your business is completed. Speak with

her then continue up the path where you are confronted by a group of Corpses

and Skeleton Archers. AS you make your way up the mountainside you will run into

a Dalish Hunter. Search the [SACK] and find a somewhat hidden [ELFROOT] then go

to the Sundermount Caverns.

Move forward and defeat the Giant Spiders. Move into the alcove to the west

and search the [RUBBLE] for the [LAST DESCENT GAUNTLETS]. Continue down the path

but don't miss the [SILVERITE] at the bottom of the steps. When you can see the

entrance to the Mountain Graveyard ignore it and instead go north to a [CRATE]

containing [THE SEAL OF HOUSE TALWAIN]. Approach the steps and defeat the

Corrupted Spiders that attack, then head up and fight off the undead that spawn.

Once clear, open the [CHEST - SIMPLE] for a variety of items.

Head to the Mountain Graveyard now, head north to find a [PILE OF BONES].

Approach the Barrier and Merrill will use Blood Magic to remove it. If you

support the use of Blood Magic then Anders and Bethany will take a Rivalry

hit, otherwise you gain Friendship. Follow the path to a [DEEP MUSHROOM] and

then towards the Altar. An Arcane Horror will spawn as well as various other

undead creatures. Looting the dead will result in a [RING OF THE MAGISTER].

Once completed approach the Altar.

Continue east after the scene and disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE], then defeat

the Revenant. As you go north you'll find a [CHEST] and [CHEST - STANDARD] with

an [ELVEN LIGHT HELM] inside. Further north you will find a [PILE OF BONES] with

the [DESIGN: RUNE OF LIGHTNING] inside. As the path ends there is a

[SUNDERMOUNT] monument and a Barrier that will summon a Shadow Warrior and some

Shades when touched -- loot this Shadow Warrior for the [ARM OF ADRUIL] then

return to the camp.

Welcome Home [04.08.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest starts as soon as you finish the previous one. Like other Companion

Quests, this is simply a conversation to gain Friendship or Rivalry. Before you

leave read the books on [ARLATHAN: PART TWO] and [MANA AND THE USE OF MAGIC]. In

the other room you'll find [THE MAKER'S FIRST CHILDREN].

Herbalist's Tasks [04.08.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Gallows where you can turn in a quest to Record Keeper Teryn. Now

speak to Solivitus to obtain the quest [HERBALIST'S TASKS]. The Spider's Silk

Gland can be found on any of the large spiders you fight in the Abandoned House

or Ruined Passage. If you already went there during previous quests and searched

thuroughly then you already have this item. The Dragon Fang is obtained from

defeating the Mature Dragon at the end of The Bone Pit quest. To gain the Pure

Ironbark head over to Master Ilen in Sundermount.

He informs you that he has nothing left in stock but divulges information as

to it's where abouts. Leave Sundermount and head to the Ironwood Clearing where

Darkspawn lurk. Follow the path and turn west, defeating the Darkspawn, then

looting the [RUBBLE]. Head north and defeat the slew of Darkspawn until an Ogre

appears. Once the Ogre has fallen you may find the [PURE IRONBARK] in the north

east corner with a [CORPSE]. With all items in hand return to Solivitus to

complete the quest.

The Unbidden Rescue [04.08.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Viscount's Keep and give Guardsman Eustice her item to complete

a quest. Head up the stairs to the northern side to view a scene. Afterwards

agree to find Saemus to start the quest [THE UNBIDDEN RESCUE]. Head on over to

The Wounded Coast and loot the [CORPSE] at the entrance. Head south at the

junction to find a [PILE OF BONES] and [GLITTERDUST]. Fight off the Tal-Vashoth

and loot the [SACK] before continuing south. There is another [CORPSE] along the

way as well as a Dalish Assassin. If you so choose, you can work out their

argument and receive some coin.

Further east is a [BARREL] and just past that is a path south to a [CORPSE].

A [PILE OF BONES] can be found before the junction. Past the junction you will

find The Winters and Saemus, whom is reluctant to go back with the ruthless

group. A fight breaks out, so be sure to focus down Ginnis first. After The

Winters are defeated more Mercenaries approach. After all is clear, tell Saemus

to hold up while you search the area.

In the junction to the north is a [CHEST], along the right side of it is a

[BARREL], and in a cutaway part of the middle is a [CRATE]. There is a [CORPSE],

a [CRATE] with [REDBLOSSOM SALVE], a [PILE OF BONES] with [DESIGN: RUNE OF FIRE

WARDING], a [CHEST], and [THE WOUNDED COAST] monument in the southern end of the

area. When you are all finished talk to Saemus to be returned to the Keep. This

will complete the quest regardless of your dialogue responses.

Nice Crime You Have Around Here [04.08.04]

Talk to Merrill in the Lowtown Elven Alienage about the muggings that occur.

This quest is completed at the end of the conversation.

This quest starts out as a rumor. On your way to The Wounded Coast or to

Sundermount you can be halted to take out some Corrupted Spiders and Giant

Spiders. By doing so you save a dwarf who informs you that you can effectively

kill two birds with one stone by taking out the Tal-Vashoth at The Wounded

Coast. Take his word for it and find the [EMBRIUM] further up, along with some

[RUBBLE] and [CASTE TREATISE] that starts a quest.

Head over to The Wounded Coast and go north at the first split and then north

again at the second one to find [SPINDLEWEED]. As the path ends Giant Spiders

will impede your way to the [CHEST - SIMPLE], take them out and take the loot.

Backtrack and head west to find [ELFROOT] off the maps path. In a small cutoff

path north is a [PILE OF BONES] and further ahead is a [CHEST - STANDARD] at a

campsite. Continue west until you reach a campsite with a [SACK] and [CRATE].

To the south off the beaten path is a [CORPSE] and another [BARREL] can be

found near the campfire. Find the path that leads south to a [CORPSE] in a

small cutoff. This path connects you with the southern path from the previous

quest The Unbidden Rescue. Go south at the split to find more [ELFROOT] then

take the northern path which goes west. At the turn is a [PILE OF BONES] and if

you continue north you will find a [CORPSE]. Take the other path to the north

east to be confronted by a Tal-Vashoth.

After hearing his warning continue the path to be ambushed by Tal-Vashoth.

There is a [BARREL] to the west and a [CORPSE] to the north. More of the Tal-

Vashoth will attack as go north to a [CHEST - STANDARD] with a [NEHRAPPAN EVA]

inside and a book on [THE ORLESIAN EMPIRE] -- to the north of the path is a

[PILE OF BONES]. Just before you enter the Caverns a final group strikes, defeat

them and find the [CHEST] to the north then enter the Tal-Vashoth Caverns.

As you enter, to your left is some [RUBBLE]. Proceed through two doors until

you are confronted by Tal-Vashoth. Head up the steps to the west where they

came from to find a [CRATE]. Continue south and at the fork go west to find a

[PILE OF BONES] and [CHEST] guarded by a [TRAP - SIMPLE]. To the east a band of

Tal-Vashoth led by an Officer will attack. Disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] and loot

the Officer for [TAAMSALA EVA] then head north where a path will take you to

[RAW LYRIUM] and a [CHEST] containing [MERAAS].

Backtrack and go up the steps south to find [SILVERITE]. Continue south to

find the Tal-Vashoth leader and a band of others. Loot the Leader for [FORMULA:

COMBUSTION GRENADE] then raid the area. Search the far east corner where the

Leader was for a [CHEST] containing [RED GRACE]. There is a [CHEST] where you

entered the area and a [CRATE] to the south on the wooden platform. Move to the

southwest corner to discover two more [CRATES] and the exit. Head to the Docks

and go the eastern portion, the Qunari Compound.

Observe [THE QUNARI] monument then approach Javaris in the back. In the end

you are denied but still paid. You can talk to the Arishok afterwards to gain

some insight as to his reasoning.

Find Macha outside the Chantry in Hightown. Inquire about her brother and

agree to help her out to gain the quest [ENEMIES AMONG US]. To learn more head

over to the Gallows Courtyard and talk to the Templar Recruits. After receiving

new information leave Kirkwall and go to Wilmod's Camp. Search the area for two

[CORPSES] and a [PILE OF BONES] then head south to meet Knight-Captain Cullen.

Wilmod undergoes a transformation and summons Abominations and a Rage Demon to

his side. Defeat them and loot the [CRATE] nearby for [DESIGN: RUNE OF IMPACT].

Enter Hightown at night and go to the Blooming Rose. Speak with Viveka to

learn the Idunna was the last one to see both Wilmod and Keran. Find Idunna in

her room upstairs and after the confrontation with her is done head to Darktown.

Enter the Sanctuary and disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] at the bottom of the steps.

Defeat the numerous spirits that attack then search the area for a [CORPSE], a

[CRATE] containing [DESIGN: RUNE OF FROST WARDING], a [DEATHROOT], and a book

on [THE VEIL].

Turn the corner and defeat the Shades then loot the [CORPSE]. Head down the

steps and defeat the Corpses then loot two [CORPSES] to find a [THINKING CAP].

Follow the path and disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] as you make your way to the

objective. A scene takes over and you are thrust into battle against Tarohne

and the Blood Mages. When the fight is over be sure to loot the corpses for

[LAST DESCENT HELMET] and the [CORPSE] and [SACK] in the back for [GRIMOIRE OF

THE APPRENTICE]. Speak with Keran when you are done looting then head back to

The Gallows and speak with Knight-Captain Cullen. You have the option of sparing

Keran and letting him keep his job or get him expelled from the Templars, either

option completes the quest.

Enter Lowtown at night and head over to Sister Petrice. This starts the quest

[SHEPERDING WOLVES]; now follow her down the alley. Kill the Street Thugs and

go visit Petrice's Safehouse. After some conversing you should agree to escort

Ketojan through the Undercity. As you move out there are Spiders that will

strike, but beward the [TRAP - SIMPLE] that is between you and them. Head to

the top of the stairs and disarm the [TRAP - STANDARD] then take out more of the

Arachnids. Another set of [TRAP - STANDARD] block your way west, disarm it and

go north.

Yet another [TRAP - STANDARD] lies between you and the enemy, disarm it and

defeat the Spiders. A [TRAP - STANDARD] lies before the stairs and then another

at the top of them before the Spiders. Open the [CHEST] at the north and head

around the corner until you meet a group of thugs. Regardless of your actions

you are forced to fight. After the battle loot the [CHEST] for the [LAST DESCENT

BOOTS]. There is another [CHEST] at the top of the staircase as well as the exit

from the Undercity.

You are confronted my Arvaarad who wants you to return Ketojan. Turning him

over is actually frowned upon while choosing to let Saarebas choose his fate

is accepted and leads to greater rewards later. Both answers lead to a fight

however. If you freed the Saarebas then you will receive the [TALISMAN OF

SAAREBAS] for your kindness. Head back to the camp to find a [PILE OF BONES],

Visit the Elven Alienage in Lowtown at day and speak with Arianni. Agree to

help her find her son to start the quest [WAYWARD SON]. Head to The Gallows and

speak with Thrask who will guide you to meeting Samson. Likewise, you could

approach Vincento in the Lowtown Bazaar. Enter Lowtown at night and track down

Samson. After gaining information from Samson head to the Docks at night. Make

your way down to Arthuris's Private Dock and go through the door.

Disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE] and fight off the Sailors and Marines. There is a

[CRATE] to the west and another up the stairs in the room. Head towards the

other set of steps making sure to disarm the [TRAP - SIMPLE]. Enter the eastern

room to find a [CRATE] then enter the northern room. Defeat the enemies and be

wary of the [TRAP - SIMPLE] in the middle of the room. Search Captain Reiner for

[MANTAKERS' ROUGHWORK AXE] and [BLOODLETTER]; search the Abomination for

[THRASK'S LETTER] which starts the quest [AN ERRANT LETTER]; lastly the [CHEST]

at the end for [HIDEOUT LOCATION MAP].

Since you're at the Docks at night you could always take the Disused Passage

for some extra experience and make your way to a shop. Follow the path south

defeating the Coterie that attack you until you reach Bonny Lem. Go around the

corner from the shop to find [REMAINS OF THE OUTLAW "HALF-BRAID" SILSAM] to

start a quest.

Head on over to Darktown and find Danzig at the bottom of the Abandoned Mines.

Talk to him to eventually start a fight. Loot Danzig's corpse for [MAP TO THE

WOUNDED COAST]. Leave Darktown and head to The Wounded Coast, take the southern

path once you get there. Go west, slaying Tal-Vashoth, until you need to go

south to reach the Slaver Caverns. Loot the nearby [CORPSE] and grab the

[SPINDLEWEED] ahead. Open the [SACK] to the south then proceed east where you

will find more Slavers.

Defeat them then head to the far east room to find a [CORPSE], [BARREL], and

[DEEP MUSHROOM]. Head to the northwest to find a [CHEST - STANDARD], two

[CRATES], and a [CORPSE] along the way. As you proceed north you find the

Slavers holding Feynriel captive. There are numerous ways to go about the

situation but most lead to battle. Focus on Varian first then the rest of the

Slavers. Afterwards you can either send Feynriel to the Circle or let him join

the Dalish. Head north along the path to find a [PILE OF BONES] then check the

western alcove near the exit for a [CHEST] holding [ALCHEMIST'S PROTECTIVE

HANDGUARDS]. Return to Arianni to inform her Feynriel's decision to receive a

[RUNED SILVERITE RING].

An Errant Letter [04.12.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest simply entails you returning the letter to Thrask. You can receive

5 sovereign if you extort him but that leads to negative group responses.

To follow up on the rumor of mages being transported from Starkhaven you must

go to the Writing Desk in Gamlen's House. Read the letter Act of Mercy to start

the quest [ACT OF MERCY] then head to the Wounded Coast Approach in the Free

Marches. As you enter defeat the Dragonlings and loot the [CORPSE] they were

feeding on. Continue down the path defeating more Dragonlings then take a path

to the northwest to find a [PILE OF BONES]. Backtrack and go east to find a

[CORPSE] off to the side then another at the fork.

Take the path south to find Thrask waiting for you. Agree to help him out by

entering the Runaways' Cavern. Proceed into the caverns and defeat the Apostate

then check the northern alcove for a [CORPSE]. Continue south to the open area

and defeat the Corpses then check the northeast alcove for [RUBBLE]. Up the

stairs to the west you will find another [CORPSE], loot it then proceed through

the southern door. At the split go west to find [RAW LYRIUM] then quickly turn

around east to find numerous enemies.

Speak with Alain after the battle then check the [CORPSE] up the stairs, to

the north a [PILE OF BONES]. Continue south to find another [CORPSE] and once in

the open area prepare for a battle. Take out Decimus first and loot his corpse

for [THE HYPNOTIST'S STAFF]. During the conversation there are many options but

be careful what you say as it effects Friendship and Rivalry. On your return out

you must fight off the undead once more. Search the area to the east for two

[CORPSES] and a [CHEST - STANDARD] then make your way back.

Once you make it outside Karras is conversing with Thrask. Again, dependant of

your previous choice you can lie and set the mages free without conflict, set

them free after a fight, or return them to the Circle. Each choice will strongly

affect Friendship and Rivalry bonuses so choose wisely.

turned in the 50 sovereign to Bartrand and have completed over half the main

Head to the south east corner of the Docks and help Lord Renvil Harrowmont

out. Agree to aid him then head back up the steps. A Carta Lieutenant will

approach you and ask you to kill Harrowmont instead of them, for quite a bit

more coin. Agree and go kill Harrowmont or kill him and all the other Carta

members in the Western Warehouse District. Harrowmont will only give one

sovereign now but 5 and a chestpiece later whilst the Carta will give three

sovereign now and nothing later.

Head to Lowtown and find a group of people gathered in the Bazaar. After the

man is done with his speech Sergeant Melindra approaches to clear them out. Talk

to her to gain a new codex entry and a quest. Head to the Old City Slums and

take out the Swindler then return to Sergeant Melindra, but don't forget to loot

the bodies for [STALKER'S BOAR HIDES].

Night Lies [04.15.08]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can start this quest by visiting Hightown at night and slaying the

Guardsman Pretenders until you receive a message. Go to "The Barracks" on the

east side of town to confront "Captain" Qerth and the rest of the gang. Loot

the bodies for [PALVO'S COCKSURE CLEAVER]; the quest is completed but there is

a [CHEST] at the top of the steps. You can collect your reward at The Hanged

Man from the lady.

Pier Pressure [04.15.09]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can start this quest by visiting The Docks at night and slaying the

Redwater Raiders until you receive a message. Enter the Warehouse in the Western

Warehouse District to confront Leech and his gang. Loot Leech for the [FOOTPAD'S

SECRET] then search the area for two [CRATES].

Sharp Little Pinpricks [04.15.10]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can start this quest by visiting Lowtown at night and slaying the Sharps

Highwaymen until you receive a message. Enter the Hovel on the east side of

town to confront Ignacio Strand and his gang. Loot Ignacio for [THE RUNT'S

SPIKER] and [BLOODY BUTCHER'S GLOVES] then search the other rooms for a [CHEST].

Head to the Docks at night and fight off the Flint Company men at the west

side of the entrance. Next, head to Sundermount and fight off more Flint Company

Mercenaries at the entrance. Lastly, head over to The Wounded Coast and defeat

the last group. Loot the bodies to find [MEGHAN VAEL'S LOCKET] then find

Sebastian Vael in the Chantry. You receive a codex update on [THE CITY OF

STARKHAVEN] as well as your reward.

The Black Emporium [04.16.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Accept this quest at the Writing Desk in Gamlen's House. Simply enter The

Black Emporium from the Kirkwall map. Here you will find numerous codex updates

to include [ANDRASTE IN NUDE REPOSE - INVISIBLE], [THE PICKLED APPLES OF

ARLATHAN], [THE BOX OF SCREAMING], and [A VESSEL OF TEARS]. Check the box of

[DISCARDED WEAPONS AND ARMOR] to find [SONG OF SORROWS], [ANCIENT LEATHER

CUIRASS], [HELM OF APPRECIATION], [GLOVES OF THE UNKNOWABLE UNKNOWN], and a

[RING OF UNHEEDED WISDOM]. There are also two shops that are more then worth

looking through.

Be sure to finish up any of the quests you wish to do before accepting to go

on the Acts final quest. Choose your group when asked to, Varric is the only

character you must take. After the scenes agree to find Sandal then make your

way into the Deep Roads. Head north until you reach an outlet, go east to find

Hurlocks waiting for you. Clear out the Darkspawn then grab the [DEEP MUSHROOM]

at the bottom of the steps. Follow the path further to find more Darkspawn and

a [CHEST - STANDARD] containing [OATH-BREAKER].

Continue down the path through a door where you will meet a Darkspawn Emissary

for the first time. Head south to find two [CHESTS], a [CHEST - STANDARD], and

some [SILVERITE]. Approach the door and a large group of Spiders will spawn

behind you, defeat them all to spawn a Monstrous Spider. Open the door now that

it's safe, to find a [CHEST] containing [CASKHEAD'S PORTABLE ANVIL]. Backtrack

and go east then north to find more Darkspawn and a [DEEP MUSHROOM]. At the

north part of this room you will enter a scene where you find Sandal who gives

you [STONE'S BREATH].

Grab the [RAW LYRIUM] behind you and head east to the [DEEP ROADS] monument.

Go north and fight off some waves of Darkspawn, then head west down the steps.

Grab the [RAW LYRIUM] and open the [CHEST] in the back for [BLADE OF RED BIRTH]

then fight off the Darkspawn. Continue west into another room where an Ogre

waits. Dodge its charge and it will get stuck in the wall momentarily allowing

for easy damage. Watch your step however, the room is loaded with [TRAP -

MASTER].

The path leads south around a corner to a [CHEST - STANDARD] then back north

before going west into a large room. Once you enter a large Dragon lands and is

ready for a fight. Take this battle much like you did the Mature Dragon in The

Bone Pit quest and you should be fine, this Dragon is a pushover in comparison.

Loot the Dragon for [WINTER-WEIGHT], [NEVARRAN LANCER], and the [LAST DESCENT

ARMOR] then head off to the Primeval Thaig entrance.

Head up north to find Bodahn and Sandal then go east. Numerous Shades come

out of hiding to attack you, defeat them before the Stone Golem awakens. Loot

the [CHEST] for a [CARVED RING OF THE VHENADAHL] and press on, grabbing the

[ORICHALCUM] along the way to the Primeval Thaig. Head up to the [LYRIUM IDOL]

to start a scene.

Go south and then east at the split to fight a seemingly endless barrage of

Shades. When the battle ends, loot the four [CHESTS] then move along the path

west. As you move south you will fight a new enemy in the Protane. Open the

[CHEST - STANDARD] for [HANDS OF STONE] then continue heading south. When you

reach a conversation with one of The Profane you can deduce that it is a Hunger

Demon. The Demon however, offers to aid you should you accept and will not have

the Profane attack you any further. This option leads to negative responses and

ultimately cuts back on your loots and experience gain.

Loot the chest after the battle, if you had one, for [GHILLIE BROGUES]. March

east as you destroy more enemies to find a [PILE OF BONES]. Not much further

you will encounter a boss fight against the Ancient Rock Wraith.

| This battle is bound to be a long one due to the enormous amount of health |

| the Ancient Rock Wraith has. Come prepared with a healer and various potion |

| products to aid you. The Dust Storm, Arcane Blast, and Rock Roll abilities |

| can all be avoided with the clever use of the four pillars around the area. |

| Be sure to hide behind the pillars because these three attacks can do large |

| amounts of group damage. During the Dust Storm and Arcane Blast attacks is |

| when the Ancient Rock Wraith is most vulnerable as the core is exposed. The |

| Wraith takes double damage to the core so capitalize when it takes a break |

| to summon Profane to attack you. Have one character with an AoE spell take |

| out the Profane while the other three attack the core. Using abilities like |

| Mark of the Assassin and Hex of Torment will help whittle away the large |

| amount of health more quickly. |

Though not part of the main quest line (with the exception of Finding Home or

Profit and Loss) these quests are largely helpful and also available at the

beginning of Act II.

Calling on the Captain [04.18.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the scene leave the room and enter the western one where Seneschal Bran

resides. Open the [CHEST - COMPLEX] then head to the southern area. In the

western room you'll find a [CHEST], in the northern one a [CHEST - SIMPLE] and

in the eastern room you will find Aveline. Speak with her to sway her Friendship

or Rivalry and the quest will complete. As you leave the Viscount's Keep, Bodahn

will approach you with news and you will start the quest [FINDING HOME] or

[PROFIT AND LOSS].

Simply return to your house and you will complete Finding Home or Profit and

Loss, thus starting the quest [PRIME SUSPECT]. From the entrance of your house

you will find a [THEDAS CALENDAR] and if you speak with Sandal he will give you

[SANDAL'S SPECIAL RUNE]. Head to your room to find a [CHEST] containing the

[FINERY].

Speak to Fenris [04.18.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Fenris' Mansion in Hightown and talk things over with him. Your words

will sway Friendship or Rivalry and the quest will complete.

A Bitter Pill [04.18.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After talking to Fenris, place him in your party and head somewhere in the

Free Marches. Instead of reaching your location the Tevinter Slavers will

catch up with you. Defeat them and leave the area, heading to the Holding Caves.

Head up the north path to find [EMBRIUM] then defeat the Slavers. Loot the

[CHEST] and check the southern path for [GLITTERDUST]. Defeat more Slavers then

check the southern area for a [CHEST] and a [CHEST - COMPLEX]. Open the [CHEST -

STANDARD] outside the Abandoned Slaver Den for a [TEVINTER ENCHANTER'S CAP].

Once inside the den head east and observe the [BLOOD SACRIFICE]. Further east

you will battle some Slavers then afterwards some Corpses. Follow the path

around and defeat the enemies as you go, be careful of the fire traps. In the

next room you will find an elf named Orana and several Slavers. You can have

Orana work for you in your house if you choose the right dialogue options. Check

the two [CHESTS] for [SPIRIT OF 4:60 BLACK] and a [TEVINTER CHANTRY AMULET].

Head west and take out the Slavers then check the [CHEST] for [REINFORCED

STRAPS] -- an armor boost for Fenris -- and the [CHEST - STANDARD] for the

[FELONS' PUNCH-GUT]. Follow the path north which inevitably leads to Hadriana.

In the talks afterwards let Fenris choose what to do for the best option. Go to

your mansion in Hightown and speak with Fenris to finish the quest.

Consoling Words [04.18.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Merrill's Home in the Elven Alienage in Lowtown. There is a [CRATE]

outside her house with miniscule items. Talk things over with Merrill to finish

this quest.

Plans for the Future [04.18.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head over to The Hanged Man and search the back area for three [CRATES] and a

[CHEST - COMPLEX] and if you helped out Martin his shop will be open. Find

Varric in his room and speak with him to finish this quest.

Isabela's Ongoing Search [04.18.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can find Isabela downstairs from Varric. You can really sway her

Friendship or Rivalry depending on what you tell her. Regardless of your words

the quest completes.

Visit Anders [04.18.07]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to Anders Clinic in Darktown and talk things over with him. After the

conversation ends, so does the quest.

Repentance [04.18.08]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest is available only if you did the quest [DUTY] earlier which in turn

also means you have access to this Premium Content. Head over to the Chantry

and head up to where Sebastian is located. Read [THE HISTORY OF THE CHANTRY:

CHAPTER 2] then talk with Sebastian. While you're in the Chantry head to the

northern area and open the [CHEST - COMPLEX] in the western room for [ANDRASTE'S

WISDOM]; in the southwestern room you will find merely a [CRATE].

Head to the High Estates in Hightown where you can find a [RUBBLE] in the

corner near a guard as well as a [CRATE] in the section over. Enter the Harimann

Estate when you are ready. Head up the stairs and into the southern room to

find a [BARREL]. From here go north to view a mini scene then head into the

southern room for another. Read [FLORA HARIMANN'S DIARY] then open the nearby

[CHEST] for a [MAIL UNDERTUNIC], an upgrade to Sebastian's armor. Continue your

search east and up a set of stairs, then check [THE VAEL FAMILY] book on the

desk.

In the next room east you'll find quite the scene, ignore it and read more of

[FLORA HARIMANN'S DIARY]. Open the [CHEST - COMPLEX] nearby then backtrack to

the hall before this area. Go into the southeast room to find a book on [DIVINE

JUSTINIA V], more of [FLORA HARIMANN'S DIARY], and a [CHEST]. Head south into a

storage area to find a [SACK] then go east to the objective. After the brief

scene defeat the Desire Demon and loot her for [FADE'S FURY]. Don't miss the

[FLINT COMPANY MERCENARY] corpse on the ground holding the [STARKHAVEN LONGBOW],

it's a gift for Sebastian.

Enter the Underground Passage and head east until you are ambushed by a Rage

Demon and it's Shade underlings. Defeat the spirits then check the [RUBBLE]

before progressing further east. In this large room you will face a great

opponent in a Revenant. Head up the stairs to the east after you take out the

Revenant to find some [RUBBLE] then make your way north to a [CORPSE] and more

undead. Once they are dispatched head west to find more [RUBBLE] then go north.

In a small area up the steps is a [CHEST - COMPLEX] and further north is yet

another Revenant and an Arcane Horror. Up the steps to the west is a [CHEST -

COMPLEX] and notes on [THE DEMON'S GIFT]. In the room before the final room is

some [RUBBLE], loot it and continue north to the exit. After the talk with the

Desire Demon you are thrust into battle. Take out Lady Harriman as soon as you

can, she is a powerful Blood Mage and can tear through your ranks. After she

goes down take out Allure to all but end the fight. Loot the bodies for

[ALLURE'S CROOK] then speak with Sebastian back at the Chantry to finish the

quest.

Night Terrors [04.18.09]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check the Writing Desk in the Hawke Estate and accept the request from the

letter Night Terrors to begin the quest [NIGHT TERRORS]. Head to the Elven

Alienage in Lowtown and speak with Arianni. Accept her plea to continue with

the quest. After the scene you get a chance to gather a team, but you cannot

take Sebastian.

In this part of the Fade you can gain four attribute points for Hawke before

actually doing the quest. This requires you to solve a number of puzzles but it

is well worth it. See below if you are having troubles figuring them out.

Puzzle #1 - In the room you arrive in is a floating [BOOK]. The objective is to

catch the book but chasing it will not work. Watch the pattern it

moves in to stand in a location where it will be, then interact

with the book to gain [1 ATTRIBUTE POINT].

Puzzle #2 - The room to the east has a [BARREL] puzzle. The objective is to

make the four large barrels be on the bottom and have the three

smaller ones on the top -- in under 18 moves. Follow the steps

below to finish the puzzle in 14 moves total. If you fail to do

the task you lose the chance to ever get the point and must fight

a group of spirits.

Puzzle #3 - You can find this puzzle in another eastern room. The objective is

to have stacks of red barrels like the ones on the side of the room.

Accomplish this task in under 18 moves to receive [2 ATTRIBUTE

POINTS], fail and fight more demons. The steps below will complete

the puzzle in 16 moves total.

With the puzzles behind you, enter the main area to the south. Here you can

strike a deal with the Sloth Demon, Torpor or choose to fight him. The former

involves corrupting Feynriel and letting Torpor control him, the latter will

let you choose Feynriel's fate (base on your actions). Torpor offers Power (4

Attribute Points), Knowledge (one Talent Point), or Magic (Torpor's Barrier

Rune) -- know that siding with Torpor while having Anders in the party results

in a fight where Anders is dismissed from the Fade.

In this place Hawke's actions influence Feynriel's mental state. Doing things

that are tempting and morally/ethically wrong will result in instability while

doing the "right" thing will result in high stability. Enter Feynriel's Desires

and watch the scene, your answers affect Feynriel's stability.

- Tell Feynriel to go with his Father for a high increase in INSTABILITY.

- Tell Feynriel that he is in the Fade with a Demon for a low increase to

INSTABILITY.

- Tell Feynriel that his Father doesn't love him to gain STABILITY.

If Isabela or Aveline is in the party then they will be turned against you

in the aftermath of this battle. You must defeat Caress and any party members

that turned (they will simply leave the Fade). Return to the central area and

enter Feynriel's Pride. Check the southern room for a book called [BEYOND THE

VEIL: SPIRITS AND DEMONS] then continue east to another scene.

- Tell Feynriel to accept his Destiny for a high increase in INSTABILITY.

- Tell Feynriel that it's a Demon results in a low increase in INSTABILITY.

- Tell Feynriel to reject his Destiny for a gain in STABILITY.

If Merrill, Fenris or Varric are in the party then one of them will turn on

you during this phase. Defeat Wryme and return to the middle area. Here you will

find Torpor if you made a deal with him. If Feynriel is stable then Torpor will

take over, but if he is unstable Torpor will attack. You can always go back on

your promise but you lose out on the reward Torpor offered. If you killed Torpor

already then Feynriel will leave the Fade if stable or ask for a mercy killing

if unstable.

After the quest completes any member that was tricked by a Demon will want to

talk to Hawke. Talk it out with the party but know that you can sway Friendship

or Rivalry based on your words.

Fool's Gold [04.18.10]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements: Never recruit Nathaniel Howe in Dragon Age: Origins

OR

Choose the Hero of Ferelden background

Go to Hightown and find Yevhen in the northeast corner of the city. Agree to

help his sons to start the quest [FOOL'S GOLD]. Leave Kirkwall and enter The

Deep Roads, an all too familiar place. Follow the path and defeat the Darkspawn

that attack then continue forward until you reach some [RUBBLE]. Further to the

east you will find Emrys who pleads with you to save his brother. Go south to

fight some Spiders then loot the [PILE OF BONES] to the east for the [SASH OF

THE TIRASHAN].

Save Merin

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head north to find Darkspawn Emissaries attacking Merin. Defeat them and send

Merin home then make your way north looting the [PILE OF BONES] before finding

Iwan's body. Loot the body for the [GOLEM CONTROL ROD] and continue down the

path. Loot the [PILE OF BONES] and continue east to a Golem, use the control

rod.

Save Iwan

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head north and help Iwan take out some lowly Darkspawn. In the end you get a

[GOLEM CONTROL ROD] to be used on the Golem to the east. You should go back and

check on Merin but he wasn't so fortunate.

Go north and dismantle the Golems along the way then head west to fight a

Darkspawn Emissary and an Ogre. Loot the [PILE OF BONES] then go north to find

a [TREASURE CACHE], [LYRIUM-LACED BILGE HOOP], [RUBBLE], and [CHEST - COMPLEX]

containing [ZOEY'S BATTERED HORDE-KICKERS]. The Treasure Cache will contain the

unique items [POTENCY] and [SUNDARIN THUNDER] if you chose to save Iwan but you

get more gold out of saving Merin. Loot the [PILE OF BONES] on your way back to

Hightown and talk to Yevhen to finish the quest.

Raiders on the Cliffs [04.18.11]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest is started by walking down the southern path in The Wounded Coast.

On your way there snatch a [PILE OF BONES] then defeat some Raiders. Loot the

[CRATE] for [FORMULA: MYTHAL'S FAVOR] then continue south to an [ELFROOT]. As

you go west loot the [BARREL] then head south to a [SACK] and [EMBRIUM]. Just

past this you will meet Lieutenant Harley who is in quite the bind.

To the left and right sides of the area are [TRAP - STANDARD] and down the

middle spawns numerous enemies across the battlefield. Take out Fell Orden first

then his cronies to start a scene. Check the east for a [CORPSE] then disarm the

[TRAP - COMPLEX] to the south to reach the southern area. Don't forget to loot

Fell Order for [ROBE OF THE NOTORIOUS PIRATE] and [FLEX-CHAIN - GUARDSMAN

PATTERN], an upgrade for Aveline. Loot the [CHEST] and [CHEST - COMPLEX] then

return to Jalen at the Viscount's Keep to finish the quest.

room for a [SACK] then head up the steps and check the southern room for a

[BARREL]. Make your way east, defeating more Shades, then read [A REPLY FROM

STARKHAVEN]. Enter the hall to the east then check the southeastern door that

opens to a room with a [CHEST] containing [DESIGN: RUNE OF STRIKING]. Take the

other door east and up the steps to find [MEREDITH'S APOLOGY] on a desk.

Enter the eastern room to find Gascard. You can either agree to help him or

be forced to kill him. Return to the Gallows to find Emeric is missing, talk

with Moira to find out where he went. Visit the Blind Alley at night then take

out the Desire Demon and Shades. When approached by Moira the better option is

to choose "I don't think so." or else Gascard's involvement will be stalled.

Inside Job [04.19.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements: Completed The Bone Pit in Act I

Head to the Hawke Estate and check the Writing Desk for the letter about the

[INSIDE JOB]. Head to the Hightown Market at day and talk with Hubert, tell him

to hold on so you can check the shops and grab read [A STUDY OF THE FIFTH

BLIGHT, VOL. TWO] in the northeast corner.

Return to Hubert and tell him you're ready. During the interrogation choose

diplomatic options and promise to take care of his family to get the location

of the stolen goods. After another scene you are taken to a different area

where you must fight. After the battle check the [CORPSE] and [CHEST] for

[PERSUASION] then head to Darktown. Approach Lilley's body and then either

kill the Coterie or inform them you didn't do it.

Enter Brekker's Hideout where you will engage against numerous Thugs. Disarm

the [TRAP - STANDARD] that seperates you from them before attacking. Loot the

[BARREL] at the top of the steps and follow the path north to find a Coterie

Alchemist and more Thugs. Defeat the Alchemist first for an easier battle then

disarm the [TRAP - STANDARD] before ascending the stairs. At the top loot the

[CRATE] for [DESIGN: RUNE OF SPIRIT] and make your way to the next room.

Ultimately the scene ends with a fight breaking out. Take out Brekker first

and the rest should fall to the wayside. Loot Brekker for [AVVARIAN WAR BOOTS]

and check the [SACK] and [CHEST - COMPLEX] before leaving. Return to Hubert in

Hightown to finish the quest.

Cave Crawling [04.19.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head on over to The Bone Pit and grab the [DEATHROOT] then follow the path

to Jansen who starts the quest [CAVE CRAWLING]. Search the [CHEST - COMPLEX],

[CRATE], and [BAG OF BONES] for a [PETRIFIED HUMAN FINGER]. If you were nice

to Sabin you can find [SABIN'S STASH] south of the bag. Further east you can

find two [BARRELS] and north from there a [CRATE] and some [GLITTERDUST]. Make

your way to the Bone Pit Mines, but don't miss the [SACK] just outside the

entrance.

Head south up the steps to some [CORRUPTED LYRIUM] and a [CRATE]. Head back

down and defeat the Queen Spider and her minions then loot the [PILE OF BONES].

Go back to Jansen to finish the quest.

Cavern of Dead [04.19.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave The Bone Pit then return to find Jansen in trouble again and start the

quest [CAVERN OF DEAD]. Enter the Bone Pit Mines from the northeast and move

east. Disarm the [TRAP - STANDARD] immediately after the door and defeat the

swarm of undead. Backtrack and go north this time doing the same thing, then

proceed to the middle area. Here you must fight a Revenant and Arcane Horror,

take out the Horror first then the Revenant. Loot the two [CHESTS] and the

[CHEST - COMPLEX] for [HELM OF THE EMERALD KNIGHTS] and [PERSUASION].

Return to The Bone Pit and talk with Jansen to finish the quest.

Pick Up Pickaxes [04.19.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave The Bone Pit and return again to Jansen to gain the quest [PICK UP

PICKAXES]. Head to Lowtown and find Smith at the southern end near the Armor

Merchant. Regardless of how you go about this, you will fork over 15 sovereign

to complete the quest. Since you are in Lowtown go south and find some

[SPINDLEWEED] then check the shops for quite a few companion armor upgrades.

Around the corner from Bonny's is a [CRATE] containing the [SEAL OF THE OLD

GOD DUMAT]. North of Bonny's you can find a [SACK] with [WAXLER'S HAT] inside,

an item that also starts a quest. Once you are finished with the Docks head to

Darktown. Observe [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL] as you enter from the west entrance.

Find the Coterie Barker and get information on Javaris, then head to Smuggler's

Cut.

Head into the opening and defeat the Carta then go west. Loot a [PILE OF

BONES] and continue north to find some Spiders. At the end of this path is a

[CHEST] and a [CRATE], now backtrack to the entrance. Go north through a small

doorway to find a [BARREL] and [SACK] to the south, a [CORPSE] to the northeast.

Follow the path west to another [PILE OF BONES] and then into more Carta. Defeat

them and open the [CRATE] then the [CHEST - STANDARD] before moving north via

the eastern path.

As you enter battle again you will find some [SILVERITE], don't miss it. Past

the Silverite is a [PILE OF BONES] and past that to the southwest is more Carta

members. Kill them to find a [CRATE] and [DEEP MUSHROOM] in the unoccupied room.

On the higher tier of the room is a [CHEST] containing [DESIGN: RUNE OF NATURE

WARDING] and a [PILE OF BONES]. Backtrack and go north, looting the [CHEST]

containing a [SHIP IN A BOTTLE] on the way to a new area.

Defeat the Mercenaries and talk to Javaris. You can kill him or let him live

but afterwards head to the Side Alley in Kirkwall. The elf seems to have let

the poison go loose already, grab a latch and plug one of the Gas Barrels.

Repeat this process and defeat the enemies that spawn each time until all four

barrels are locked. After the scene defeat the fanatic and loot her corpse for

[FORMULA: ARCANE POISON] and [THE BROTHERS' END]. Loot the few [CRATES] that

lie around then head to The Arishok.

After talking to the Arishok head to Viscount's Keep and find the Viscount.

The quest will complete and with grave news comes a new quest, [OFFERED AND

LOST].

Dissent [04.20.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Darktown and find Anders in his clinic; agree to aid him in his

quest. Head out of the clinic and snag the [DEATHROOT] by the steps then make

your way south to the Gallows Dungeon. Search the [BONES] and take the top

path first to find a [PILE OF BONES], [CRATE], and [SPINDLEWEED]. Backtrack and

head south past the [CORPSE] to find a hostile group. Defeat them and be sure to

loot the [FINE DWARVEN TROUSERS] off the bodies, then take the eastern path to a

[CORPSE] then further south to a [PILE OF BONES] and a [DEEP MUSHROOM].

You can spot a [CORPSE] further south but going west will have you pass a

[TRAP - COMPLEX]. Disarming or tripping it causes spiders to attack from all

sides. Head back north up the western half and button hook into an alcove for

a [CHEST - COMPLEX]. Head back south where you'll spot two sets of [BONES], but

continue to follow the path until you meet more Lyrium Smugglers. Head up the

steps and check the little cubbies for a [CHEST]. At the top of the stairs are

two [CORPSES] and a greeting of hostility.

Continue going up the steps while looting the [CORPSE] and two [BONES] piles.

As you reach the end of the path Anders goes postal and you are thrust into

combat. After the battle Anders is still under the control of Justice, talk

him down to gain high Friendship or do the opposite for high Rivalry. Loot the

bodies for [ALRIK'S PAPERS] and [DISSENSION] then check the western crevaces for

a [CRATE] containing [SPIRIT ESSENCE] and a [CHEST - COMPLEX]. A [CORPSE] and

[THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL] can be found on the other side, grab them and find

Anders back at the clinic.

Mirror Image [04.20.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Find Merrill in her room and talk to her about the mirror, then agree to help

her get the item she needs to fix it. Head to Sundermount and loot the [CHEST]

as you enter the Dalish Camp for a [DALISH TATTOO INK]. Speak with Keeper

Marethari then check out Master Ilen's Shop.

Take the eastern path north to an [ELFROOT] then enter the Varterral Hunting

Ground. Go left from the entrance to a [PILE OF BONES] holding a [POLISHED

WHITEWOOD AMULET]. Head back and go north to fight some spiders then loot Hunter

Radha for [RADHA'S AMULET]. Follow the path north until you go southwest to find

Hunter Harshal's body that holds [HARSHAL'S AMULET]. Backtrack and head west to

an [ORICHALCUM] then go north a little bit for some [GLITTERDUST].

Check the alcove west for a [CHEST - STANDARD] holding a [RIVAINI SEER'S BAND]

then get back on track downstairs to some [RUBBLE]. To the east you will find

Hunter Chandan holding [CHANDAN'S AMULET]. Go west to view a scene then chase

after Pol. The Varterral appears here so prepare for a boss fight.

| The Varterral is a large and ancient guardian of Arlathan. It's varying |

| attacks are lethal and fast, but the large health that it has makes a swift |

| fight nigh impossible. The Spit attack deals corrosive poison for damage |

| over time and the Ground Pound is an AoE knockback. Focus on keeping the |

| Varterral at a distance with a tank and keeping buffs applied to the party. |

| An Arcane Mage is incredibly helpful with a lightning based staff and |

| elemental weapons. Likewise, a Primal Mage will inflict some serious damage |

| on his own. |

After the battle loot the [BONES] and [PILE OF TREASURE] for [HONEYCUT]. On

your way out you can grab a [DEEP MUSHROOM] that you missed due to the scene.

Just before you get out a Frost Horror will strike, be sure to take it out

quickly. Loot the bodies for [HUBRIS] then make your way back to the Keeper. By

turning this quest in you also complete [HONORING THE FALLEN] in one fell swoop.

Before leaving Sundermount you might want to explore the rest of it. No quests

involve you going down the other path which is strewn with good loot. Head north

up the western of two paths to find some [GLITTERDUST]. Defeat the enemies on

your way up the path and enter the Sundermount Passage. As you enter a Monstrous

Spider will come down to impede your progress. Defeat the spider and check the

alcove to the west to find some [SILVERITE]. Make your way east to the larger

room, at the north end is [ORICHALCUM] and at the south end is more [ORICHALCUM]

along with a [SACK] with a [REAM-ROT KNIFE].

Enter the Mountain Graveyard and go north to a [PILE OF BONES] to find the

[RECIPE: MIGHTY OFFENSE POTION]. To the south where you met Flemeth is a group

of enemies to include a Crazed Loner and Shadow Assassin. Loot the bodies for

[THE EYES OF AZURE JAMOS] then go east to find [EMBRIUM] in the corner. As you

move higher you will start to fight Dragonling. Move further along to spot the

end of the path and a [PILE OF BONES] with the [SURFACER STONE ARMOR], [BELT OF

THE BRIGAND], and [SILVER-THREADED DALISH EMBROIDERY] inside. Unfortunately, you

must face a Mature Dragon at this point. If you need help refer to section

[04.05.03].

Back from Sundermount [04.20.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Return to Merrill's place after the previous quest and speak with her. You

will gain and complete this quest all in one. This is a great chance to flirt

with Merrill if you are trying to romance her.

An Update [04.20.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head over to The Hanged Man and speak with Varric. Agree to pay a visit to

his brother Bartrand to finish this quest and start [FAMILY MATTERS].

Family Matters [04.20.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Hightown at night and enter Bartrand's Estate. A quick scene takes

place then it's Varric versus a large group of Guards. Once you defeat them all

there is a brief intermission and you gain control of the entire party again.

Check the [CRATE] then go through the door to fight off some guards. Loot yet

another [CRATE] and continue west to find a Crazed Commander. Head north to the

next room where there are [TRAP - STANDARD] on the floor.

Clear out the guards and move to the next room where the floor is littered in

[TRAP - MASTER]. Go south after disarming the trap and loot the [CRATE] once the

waves of guards die out. A scene occurs then check the [CHEST] in the right

room for [SILVERITE-REINFORCED BUCKLES] while the [CHEST] in the left room has

a [BELT OF THE PRIMEVALS]. Leave this area for now and go to the northern area

where you will find much more guards and two [CRATES].

The eastern room has two [CRATES] and a [CHEST - COMPLEX] containing some

[BLACKENED GREAVES]. Return to the main foyer and enter the middle room and

fight off Bartrand. Let Varric kill him for high approval or not for the

opposite effect. Loot the [CHEST] in the back for [BOOTS OF ENASALIN]

The Long Road [04.20.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Viscount's Keep and talk to Aveline in her office. Accept her

task and find Guardsman Donnic in the next room over. Talk to Aveline after the

task is complete to receive another one. Complete this as well and continue to

play out this little game until you are to go to The Hanged Man at night.

Approach Donnic at this time but Aveline backs out. This time she wants you to

go to The Wounded Coast.

Begin moving along the northern path until you reach a path leading to some

[EMBRIUM] and a [PILE OF BONES]. Further ahead is the Signal Fire. After this

the first one move west to find another, guarded by Raiders of course. From here

head south checking the [PILES OF BONES] and [CRATES] along the way. Search the

[SACK] and light the other Signal Fire to start a confrontation. Return to

Viscount's Keep and talk to Aveline once more to finish the quest.

Speak with Seneschal Bran then head over to The Hanged Man. Speak to Orwald

the Braggart and a fight will ensue if you don't use Aveline as a mediator. If

you fought then loot the bodies for [SENESCHALS' LEATHER STRAP] and [GUARDIAN OF

ENASALIN]. Go to the Chantry by day to talk with Mother Petrice who will divulge

some information. Go to Ser Varnell's Refuge at day and head north then up the

steps. The [CHEST - STANDARD] in the junction area is guarded by a [TRAP -

STANDARD], worth disarming considering the [STITCH-MAKER] is inside.

As you enter the next room you will catch Ser Varnell red-handed. Depending

on how you've been responding during this quest you can either fight Ser Varnell

and his lackies, have them kill the Qunari, or fight the Qunari yourself. Loot

Ser Varnell for the [RIVER'S WAVE] shield and check the [CRATE] near the exit

for [SHIELD OF THE KNIGHT HERSELF]. When you speak with the Viscount you have

two options, burn the bodies to hide the mess or not. Choosing to burn them will

give a Side Quest in Act III but being honest with the Arishok will gain his

respect.

You can head to the Docks and speak with the Arishok about the incident. Once

again, being honest with the Arishok gains his respect. Mother Petrice is still

at the Chantry and can also be confronted on the situation.

Go to the Hawke Estate to find that Leandra is missing. The objective now is

to gain access to the Dark Foundry. If Gascard is alive you can find him in the

southern part of Darktown. Tell him to perform the ritual to be taken to the

Dark Foundry and Gascard with the party. If Gascard is dead then you must go

to Lowtown and talk to the Urchin to find the information out.

Once inside head up the steps and loot a [BARREL] and a [CHEST] in the

corner room. At the northeast use the trapdoor then fight off the Rage Demon

and Shades. Loot the [CHEST] near Alessa for [GAUDY AMETHYST PENDANT] then check

[A SCRIBBLED NOTE]. Search the [PILE OF BONES] and move east to find some

[ORICHALCUM] and [A SCRIBBLED NOTE]; to the north some [RUBBLE] with a locket

oftly familiar to Hawke.

Defeat the spirits down the steps then raid the area for loot. There is one

[CHEST] with the [AMELL FAMILY SHIELD] inside, a [CHEST - COMPLEX], and a

[CRATE] to be found. Also [A SCRIBBLED NOTE] and [A LETTER FROM THE CIRCLE] can

be read to gain some insight. Head south to find a [CHEST] with the [GLOVES OF

ENASALIN] inside then continue further for a scene. If Gascard is in the party

then he will be swayed to join Quentin, fortunately you can pull him back over

to yours.

A battle starts after the scene, if you are fighting against Gascard make

sure he dies first. Defeat the first wave to spawn the Possession of Ninette

and several more enemies, but kill the Desire Demon first. The next wave is the

same except with the Possession of Alessa, the last wave is the Possession of

Leandra. With his minions defeated Quentin will attack you himself, but he will

go down easily. After the scenes the quest is completed and you gain [TINE].

The Captain's Condolences [04.22.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speak with Aveline in her office at the Viscount's Keep. You can gain some

background on Aveline's father if you ask, otherwise the conversation simply

ends the quest.

Head to the Hawke Estate and read the letter on Following the Qun. After doing

so visit Viscount Dumar to find that Saemus is trying to convert to Qunari.

The Viscount wants you to make your way to the Docks and speak with the Arishok

about this, but before you can make it you are taken to a Winding Alley. Defeat

the Thugs and Mercenaries then loot them to find [HELM OF ENASALIN]. After you

speak with the Arishok head to the Chantry at night.

The scene that takes place is dependant one whether or not you killed Ser

Varnell. If he died then you simply must fight Mother Petrice's Righteous Mob.

If he lived then you can side with Petrice and fight Qunari or oppose Petrice

and gain the same result as if Varnell were dead. This is the one chance you

have to get [THE HISTORY OF THE CHANTRY: CHAPTER 3] so grab it on the nearby

altar before the battle starts. After the battle is over a scene will occur

depending on what you chose.

This quest will start if you recruited Isabela during Act I and have finished

Follow the Qun. Head to the Hawke Estate and tell her you will help, otherwise

she leaves the party permanently. Make your way to the objective in Lowtown to

find Qunari outside that you must fight. Loot the bodies for the [GAUNTLETS OF

THE ASHAAD]. Head upstairs and disarm the traps to find a [BARREL] and a total

of six [CRATES], the one at the northwest has [LAMBSWOOL INSOLES]. As you head

back out to Lowton loot Wall-Eyed Sam for [ISABELA'S LETTER].

Forbidden Knowledge [04.27.01]

This quest starts at the Writing Desk in the Hawke Estate if you spared Idunna

in Act I, otherwise you can start it by finding an Evil Tome.

The first Evil Tome you need to hunt down can be found in the Chantry. Head

there and find it upstairs on the southern end. Destroy it and defeat the

enemies it spawns. Head to Viscount's Keep and head to the far eastern end to

find another Evil Tome, destroy it and the enemies that spawn. The next book is

unmarked on the map, head to The Bone Pit to discover it's location. Find the

Cove on the far east side and enter to find some [RUBBLE], [CORRUPTED LYRIUM],

[BONES], and the Evil Tome. Like the other Tomes, destroy this and the enemies

that spawn.

The next area to find is in The Wounded Coast. Head to the west side to find

the Dank Cave. Defeat the spiders and loot the [PILE OF BONES], continue to the

north. To the east is [RAW LYRIUM] and further north the path dead ends. As you

move toward the Evil Tome a full grown Dragon will interrupt you and your glory.

Search the [PILES OF TREASURE] then destroy the Evil Tome and the enemies that

spawn.

Head to the Sundermount and go back to the eastern path and enter the newly

formed opening. Dodge the fire as you head east then defeat the Stone Golem. In

the eastern room is a [CORPSE] and [CHEST - COMPLEX] but they spawn enemies. Go

north and loot the [CORPSE] in the corner to spawn the undead and animate the

Golem. Defeat this group to spawn a Revenant and Rage Demon, defeat them and

march east. Check ["SOUTH-SONG" GERRALT'S CORPSE] and make your way to the

middle room. Defeat wave after countless wave of spirits and undead then check

out the Nexus Golem's Wares.

Check the Evil Tome and destroy it. With the last book destroyed head to

Darktown and enter the Forgotten Lair. Disarm the [TRAP - MASTER] and continue

east to the [PILE OF BONES]. Defeat a Stone Golem to the north and loot the

[BONES] but go east. The undead rise, put them back to sleep and disarm the

[TRAP - COMPLEX] as you go east. There are several [TRAP - MASTER] before you

get to go north and find the [FELL GRIMOIRE]. This time read the book to gain

[TWO ATTRIBUTE POINTS] and summon Xebenkeck along with hordes of the toughest

enemies.

After the battle ends loot the ashes for [VORACITY] and the [PILES OF

TREASURE] for lots of valuable junk.

Sketchy on the Details [04.27.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Find this quest on the Chanter's Board then move to Hightown at night. Make

your way toward the Viscount's Keep to be attacked by Denerim Avengers, kill

them then head to The Hanged Man at night. Make your way to the back area to

be attacked again. The next area is Lowtown near the Elven Alienage during day,

Antivan Assassins this time. Now over to The Gallows at the southern end to

fight some Qunari Death Squad. Lastly, head to the southern area of Darktown to

ward off the Carta Loyalists. Head to the Docks at night and find Sketch to

receive your reward, [SKETCH's RESPLIT-SHAFT], he is in the Western Warehouse

District.

The Lost Patrol [04.27.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speak to the Qunari in the Docks to start this quest. Move out to The Wounded

Coast and follow the southern path until you find the culprits. Defeat the

Abomination and report in to the Qunari. Your reward is [BINKY'S COMFORT], a

Two-Handed Sword.

The Underground Railroad [04.27.04]

Requirements: Let Grace and the Apostates go at the conclusion of Act of Mercy

Search and Rescue [04.27.05]

Requirements: Return Grace and the Apostates to the Circle of Magi at the end

of Act of Mercy

Accept this quest at the Chanter's Board in Hightown. In this Side Quest you

must hunt down three Apostates, the first one, Jake the Black, can be found

in the south side of Darktown. After killing him he morphs into a Pride

Abomination. Next is Innley of Starkhaven who is at the very top of Sundermount.

Loot his corpse for [ONE-CUT] amd [RING OF TRANSITIONAL POWER]. The last of the

Apostates is Heborah de Soliere, he is on the western end of The Wounded Coast.

The quest is completed as soon as the last Apostate is slain.

Head to the Docks at day and enter the Qunari Compound. Speak with the Arishok

and after the scenes you get one last chance to change the party. Follow the

path around Lowtown and head south instead of straight to the Market. As you

battle the countless Qunari be sure to loot the [BARRELS] and [CORPSES]. When

you meet the Grey Wardens you will receive [WARDEN'S PROMISE], then go south.

Loot the [CRATES] and defeat the Looters then the Coterie Rogue. Move through

the market area for a larger battle. Check the [CHEST - COMPLEX] after the

brawl then leave Lowtown.

As you enter Hightown you must fight more Qunari. Check the [CRATES], [BARREL]

and a [CHEST - COMPLEX] before moving out. On the east side of town you can

take part of a Carta Thug and Qunari battle. South of here is a [CORPSE] with

the [RECIPE: ELIXIR OF HEROISM]. Move to the center of Hightown to find another

[CORPSE] this time with [AEQUATARIAN ROBES]. Defeat the Qunari here to start a

scene, then either create a distraction or charge straight into the Viscount's

Keep.

When the scene ends you must fight off some Qunari. Loot the [CORPSES] for

[THE SEAL OF KIRKWALL] and [TWICE-BLESSED RING] then move to the far east. The

Act is about to unleash the final scene but how it takes place is dependent on

your choices. If Isabela returns then you can either duel the Arishok or fight

him with his men, or let them take Isabela. If Isabela doesn't return then you

can still duel if Fenris is around. If the Arishok takes Isabela she is gone for

good so be wary your choices. Dueling the Arishok is by far the toughest but

most rewarding choice.

| The Arishok only has a few abilities but they all can be chained since |

| they cause knockback or knockdowns. Having high Fortitude or a Force Mage's |

| Unshakable spell will more than help in this fight. The Rush move is very |

| telegraphed and should always be dodged. The Slice is a huge knockdown but |

| is also slow and can be dodged, the Arishok will normally follow with a |

| Rush if you get hit, essentially chaining attacks. Impale will severely |

| cripple anyone it hits as the Arishok raises the victim into the air for |

| continual damage. The Arishok will use several potions to keep himself |

| above 50% but once under that mark he will stop. Keep on the offensive at |

| this time because the attacks will get faster and cause more damage. |

completing some of these quests during the Main Quests, whether or not you have

done them will effect the story and the choices you can make - more choices are

available if you have done these quests prior to finishing the Main Quests.

Speak to Fenris [04.30.01]

Head to Fenris' Mansion and talk to him to find out he found his sister and

would like your help. Agree to start the quest [ALONE].

Alone [04.30.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to The Hanged Man during the day to start a confrontation with Danarius.

Defeat the Slavers that continue to pour into the Hanged Man until Shades and a

Rage Demon are summoned. Once they are defeated Corpses and Skeleton Archers

come and Danarius becomes attackable. Focus on Danarius because when he dies

the battle ends. The choices you make about Varianna effect Friendship and

Rivalry. After the quest you receive the [CUIRASS OF THE CENTURION] and a codex

update for [THE CENTURION'S CUIRASS].

Faith [04.30.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head over to the Chantry and check the southern area to find [THE HISTORY OF

THE CHANTRY: CHAPTER 4]. Talk to Sebastian and agree with Grand Cleric Elthina

to help. Enter Hightown at night and search the [CHEST - COMPLEX] just outside

the Chantry for [ANDRASTE'S WISDOM]. Make your way to the Viscount's Keep and

enter the Throne room. Defeat the Blood Mages and the demons they summon. Talk

to Sister Nightingale afterwards about the situation then loot the bodies for

[SER MAURA'S GAUNTLETS], [THE LOW BLADE], [JEWEL OF THE ETHER], [THE

RESOLUTIONIST'S CAP], and [MAGE'S FRIEND]. Return to the Chantry and to the

Grand Cleric to end the quest.

Champions and Captains [04.30.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Viscount's Keep and talk with Aveline. What you talk about is

reactive of what you did in the previous Acts.

A Talking To [04.30.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head over to Merrill's Home and speak with her to complete this quest.

Isabela's Regret [04.30.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Find Isabela in her usual spot at The Hanged Man. Talking with her will let

her back into the party.

The Storm and What Came Before It [04.30.07]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Find Varric in his room in The Hanged Man. Speak with him to finish this

quest.

Check on Anders [04.30.08]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Anders' Clinic and find the [QUNARI BLADE] in the [CRATE]. Talk to

Anders to finish the quest. As you leave Darktown a new quest, [JUSTICE] will

be unlocked.

Justice [04.30.09]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Return to Anders' Clinic and talk to him, then agree to help him. Head through

the southern part of Darktown and loot the [DEATHROOT]. Enter the Sewers and

fight off the enemies. Check the [SELA PETRAE DEPOSIT] and disarm the [TRAP -

STANDARD]. Check the [CORPSE] to the north then go east to find another [TRAP -

STANDARD] waiting to be disabled. Continue east to find some [RUBBLE] then go

south and fight off the mages. Loot the [CORPSE] and find another [THE ENIGMA

OF KIRKWALL] in the corner. Head up the steps to find another [SELA PETRAE

DEPOSIT] then go north.

Check the [CORPSE] in the first room and defeat the Lyrium Smugglers. There is

another [SELA PETRAE DEPOSIT] in the second room and more to the north past a

large set of [TRAP - STANDARD]. Defeat the Pit Boss here and open the [CHEST -

COMPLEX] to the south for [MANTAKERS' HOBBLER - REFINED] and [DRAGONSCALE BOOTS]

then go north to find the [SELA PETRAE DEPOSIT]. Check the [PILE OF BONES] as

you return to Darktown.

Head to The Bone Pit, in turn starting the quest [MINE MASSACRE], and head

check the [CORPSES] and [PILE OF BONES] then go east to enter the Drakestone

Mines. Check the [CORPSES] for the [WARDEN'S OATH] and disarm the [TRAP -

COMPLEX] as you are swarmed by spiders. Grab the [DRAKESTONE DEPOSIT] and take

the eastern path to find more spiders. To the north is a [DEEP MUSHROOM] and

to the south some [BONES] and another [DRAKESTONE DEPOSIT].

Backtrack and head south to find more [BONES] and [CRATES]. To the east is

a [DRAKESTONE DEPOSIT], follow this path south to some [BONES] and [CORPSE]

with the [GRIFFON-FEATHER BELT]. Disarm the [TRAP - COMPLEX] and loot the

[DRAKESTONE DEPOSIT] to spawn a Monstrous Spider. Find the path to the west that

leads north and button hook around the corner into an alcove with a [CHEST -

COMPLEX]. Leave the alcove and go up the nearby steps and disarm the [TRAP -

COMPLEX] to start another spider fight, then grab the final [DRAKESTONE DEPOSIT]

before leaving. Talk to Anders back at the clinic then head to the Chantry and

talk to the Grand Cleric. Once this is done, speak with Anders once more to

finish the quest.

Mine Massacre [04.30.10]

Head over to The Bone Pit to start this quest. Take the southern path to find

the High Dragon.

| This battle will be initiate as soon as you enter the area. For the most |

| part you want to have no more than two melee for this fight and at least |

| one healer. Have your tank initiate while you move the rest of the group in |

| to more formidable positions. The ranged should be as far back as possible |

| and any melee should be attacking from the side, never the front or the |

| direct back as to avoid taking damage from Fire Breath and Tail Swipes. The |

| Roar ability will stun an unusually large area, be sure to keep Taunt ready |

| for such occurences. |

| Every time the High Dragon loses 25% it will fly up to higher ground and |

| perch. During the first perch phase Dragonlings will spawn, in the second |

| phase more Dragonlings are spawned in addition to a Dragon. During the third|

| and final perch phase, even more Dragonlings spawn as well as two Dragons. |

| During the perch phases you may strike the High Dragon with ranged attacks |

| as it is the only way to bring her back down. She will shoot fireballs at |

| the party from her location but they can be easily dodged. |

| To help minimize casualties make sure all party members can heal themselves|

| and regen their own mana/stamina. Micromanaging will be helpful, especially |

| on the tank. Moving the tank in circles around the High Dragon will cause |

| her to spend a lot of time repositioning her self, she isn't agile. Do your |

| best to play defensively as opposed to offensively and you should be able |

| to take down the High Dragon. |

Herbalist's Tasks [04.30.11]

If you manged to slay the High Dragon head over to the Gallows and talk to

Solivitus. Give him the fire gland in exchange for [URZARA'S TOOTH].

A Murder of Crows [04.30.12]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements: If you imported a Dragon Age: Origins file, Zevran must be alive

Head to Hightown and find Nuncio outside The Blooming Rose. Agree to aid him

then head to Sundermount. Defeat the thieves and disarm the [TRAP - COMPLEX],

then search the bodies for [SYLVANWOOD RING]. Further west you will find [THE

AWIERGAN SCROLLS: THIRD ASPECT], grab it and enter the camp. Talk to Variel to

find the Antivan is up in the mountain cave. Check out the shop before going up

after the Antivan.

Head to the northwest and defeat the Darkspawn that are along the path. Before

you reach the end of the path check the [PILE OF BONES] for [DESIGN: RUNE OF

VALIANCE]. Defeat the Wasp Spiders then enter the Mountain Cave. Take the

southern path to its end to find a [CORPSE] and [CHEST - COMPLEX] then head

back to the entrance. In the middle area disarm the [TRAP - MASTER] and fight

off the spiders that attack. Loot the [PILE OF BONES] for the [BOILED LEATHER

PLATES] then head north. Release the traps and check the alcove for a [CRATE]

before heading west.

Search the [PILE OF BONES] at the base of the steps for a [SYLVANWOOD RING]

then continue west along the path until you reach a very open area. Here you

will fight the Varterral again. Kill it and loot the [PILES OF TREASURE] for

[RIGHTEOUS RAIN] and [RING OF THE SHADOW HUNTER]. Talk to Zevran and either

choose to take him in or let him go. Head to the Antivan Camp and you are

forced to fight the Crows. If you let Zevran go he will fight alongside you, if

not then he can only watch.

Loot the [CHEST - STANDARD] and [BARREL] for [PROVING BATTLE TUNIC]. There are

some other items along the southern path but it's all miniscule. Talk to Zevran

after the battle and if you freed him initially he will give you [FINESSE].

Visit Gamlen [04.30.13]

Head to Lowtown and check out the shops before doing much else.

Once you're done head over to Gamlen's House. Talk with Gamlen to complete the

quest but read [A CRUMPLED NOTE] and talk to Gamlen again to start [GAMLEN'S

GREATEST TREASURE].

Gamlen's Greatest Treasure [04.30.14]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to Darktown after talking to Gamlen and find Mekel. A battle starts and

when it's over loot Mekel for [THE WALLOP MALLET]. Return to Gamlen to find out

what the Wallop Mallet is, then check it on his wall. Head to the vhenadahl in

the Elven Alienage and examine it. Proceed to the Docks at night and head down

the Western Warehouse District. Loot the [CHEST - MASTER] for a [QUNARI SWORD]

then enter Smetty's Fish Guttery. Head west to find [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL]

and [SHIPMENT 1039] then go up the steps to find [SHIPMENT 1023] which springs

a trap.

Inside the room is [SHIPMENT 1043] but deal with the Mercenaries now. Loot

the Commander when the battle ends for [A NOTE FOR GAMLEN]. Search the area and

loot the rest of the Shipments then leave and enter the Disused Passage. Head

south and loot the [STORAGE] for the [RIVAINI TALISMAN]. Head south down the

other path to find Bonny Lem and his wares.

Leave the Disused Passage and loot the [PILE OF BONES] for a [QUNARI SWORD]

then go to The Sink in the Free Marches. Defeat the undead and spiders and go

south, taking the western path. Defeat the hordes of undead and go up the steps

to the west for a [CHEST]. At the southern end of the path is a [CRATE] in a

small alcove.

After the battle loot Veld for [THE WAILER] then talk with Charade. You can

take the [GEM OF KEROSHEK] if you want but it will make her angry. On your way

back to Gamlen's House loot the [CHEST - STANDARD]. Talk to Gamlen to end this

quest.

Head into the Templar Hall and down the western hallway. Enter the second room

on the north side to find [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL], a [SACK], and a [CHEST -

COMPLEX]. Speak with Meredith or Orsino and then Elsa to get the information

you require. Head to Hightown at night and enter the De Launcet Mansion in the

High Estates section. After the conversation raid the Mansion, start at the

northeast corner where there are [TRAP - MASTERS] and numerous [CHESTS] with

[ENCHANTED LIGHT GAUNTLETS] and a [QUNARI SWORD].

Head to The Hanged Man at day and have a word with Emile de Launcet. You can

either have him turn himself in or set him free. Head to Darktown next to find

Walter just sitting on the ground. After the scene chase them into the Sewer

Passage. Fight off the Rage Demons and Shades then head up to the north. Disarm

the traps and then take on some more spirits. Check the [CRATE] in the corner

and continue the path. There is a [TRAP - COMPLEX] at the top of the steps and

a [CORPSE] in the next area.

Unfortunately, you will have to fight off Evelina who becomes overwhelmed by

a demon. You can give Walter 5 sovereign or your happy wishes before you leave.

Check the [CHEST] for [DESIGN: RUNE OF DEVASTATION] on your way out. Head to

Lowtown next and enter the Elven Alienage to find Nyssa. After the conversation

come back to the Elven Alienage at night time. After the scene kill Huon and

the Shades that spawn then loot him for [FORMULA: FELL POISON] and [BOOTS OF

THE CHAMPION]. Return to the Templar Keep and report in, afterwards you gain

the quest [A SMALL PROBLEM].

No Rest for the Wicked [04.31.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Talk to Isabela at The Hanged Man then head to the Hawke Estate to find her

snooping around. Agree to help her then go to The Blooming Rose. Head to the

room on the eastern end, the coversation is up to you and ends the same

regardless of what you do. Head to Lowtown at night and follow the trail that

was left behind. As you pass the Foundry search a [RUBBLE] for a [QUNARI SWORD]

then continue the trail. Head to the Docks at night and follow the trail to

Castillon's Landing.

Head north and hit the disarming switch and loot the [CRATES] for a large

amount of coin, then enter the open area to view a scene. Kill the Raiders and

loot Velasco for the [OFFICE KEY] and [THE PAIRING KNIFE]. Search the room to

the north to find [AMBROSIA] and a [CHEST - COMPLEX]. Enter the southern room

and check the [CHEST] for [INCRIMINATING DOCUMENTS]. As you leave the area

Castillon confronts you. Either kill him or accept the deal that Isabela wants

to make with him to finish the quest.

A Small Problem [04.31.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Talk to Varric in The Hanged Man and agree to aid him to start the quest

[HAUNTED].

Haunted [04.31.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head on over to Hightown at night and visit Bartrand's Estate. Loot the

[CRATE] at the entrance then continue west. Head north to the upper section

of the Estate and enter the eastern room. Check the [CRATE] after the scene

and start backtracking until a door is open to the middle area. Head up the

steps and check the left room for a [CHEST - COMPLEX]. Enter the middle room to

start a scene and ultimately a boss fight. The Ethereal Golem uses a few attacks

that are like the Ancient Rock Wraith. After taking 1/3 of it's HP it will

summon Shades to attack. It will do this again after taking another 1/3 of it's

HP, the final time it returns will be it's last and the Ethereal Golem will now

be red. Loot it for the [ROCK BAND] and afterwards a scene occurs.

After the battle you get a choice to keep a part of the idol or give it to

Varric. Keeping it means you must return to Sandal who will make a [PRIMEVAL

LYRIUM RUNE] while letting Varric have it results in 3 rune slots for Bianca.

Go back up the steps and into the room on the right for a [CHEST - MASTER] and

a [LEDGER].

Closure [04.31.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head back to The Hanged Man to speak with Varric. This will close out the

chain with Varric.

Favor and Fault [04.31.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the Hawke Estate and accept this quest from the Writing Desk. Speak

with Aveline in the barracks to view a scene. After the scene take Aveline to

the Docks at night. In the Eastern Warehouse District you will find Guardsman

Donnic being attack by some Coterie Thugs. Help him defeat them then visit

Knight-Captain Cullen at the Gallows. After talking to Cullen head to Lowtown

at night and intercept Guardsman Brennan to gain information on Jeven.

Head to Darktown at night and make your way to the southern part of the area.

In the talks with Jeven, choosing anything other than letting Aveline speak

will result in Rivalry with her. Pick off Jeven first and loot his corpse for

[CORNERSTONE]. The [CHEST] holds the [HANDS OF GLORY], grab it and return to

the barracks to complete the quest.

A New Path [04.31.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This quest will become available after finishing A Talking To and On The

Loose. Talk to Merrill in her home and agree to help her, then head to the

Sundermount. You can optionally speak with the Keeper for Friendship or Rivalry

gain. Head up the mountain and defeat the Spiders that spawn. If you started

The Awiergan Scroll: Third Aspect an Arcane Horror will spawn and you are forced

to fight it on the way up. Loot it for [BLOOM] then loot [THE AWIERGAN SCROLLS:

SECOND ASPECT].

Enter the caverns and grab the [RAW LYRIUM]. Down the steps is a [CHEST -

COMPLEX] and in the main room some [ORICHALCUM]. Head up the stairs to find

[HER SONG] in a [PILE OF BONES] then enter the graveyard. You can search the

[GRAVES] to spawn undead and in one of them find [ANDRUIL'S BRAID]. Observe the

Shrine for a brief scene and continue east. If you started The Awiergan Scrolls:

Second Aspect you will run into Bysmor, Gifre, and Beacon at this point. They

are accompanied by Dragonlings so pick your targets wisely. Start with Bysmor

then the two Revenants. Loot Beacon for [THE CELEBRANT] then continue up the

path.

Defeat the Dragonlings and eventually a Dragon for [THE JADE SERPENT]. Before

reaching the top of the mountain, spot the [GLITTERDUST] in a small branched

off area. At the top defeat the Shadow Assassin for [ENCHANTED MAUL] then enter

Pride's End. Loot the [FELANDARIS] and observe the Strange Idol. After a scene

you are forced to fight a Pride Demon. At the fights end if you choose to

finish off the Keeper the battle is over, if not then there is a third part you

must deal with. Loot the [CORPSE] for [TORCH OF FALON'DIN] and [HALLA HORN

BUCKLES] then return to the camp to complete the quest.

Head to the Templar's Hall and speak with Orsino or Meredith. After gaining

some information head to Hightown at night. Enter the Hightown Estates and a

battle ensues. Loot the Templar Lieutenant for [CONSPIRATOR'S NOTES] and the

[PROTECTION OF THE FAITH]. Move to the Docks at night and enter the Warehouse

in the Western Warehouse District. Head through the northern door to find a

[CHEST - COMPLEX] then enter the main area. Defeat the group and search the

[CHEST] for [BLADE OF MERCY]. Scour the area for a few [CRATES] and a [BARREL],

one particular crate in the northwest holds [SIGIL OF THE MAGE UNDERGROUND].

Head to The Wounded Coast and take the northern path. In the northern split

you will find a [PILE OF BONES] and higher along the normal path is a [CORPSE]

that when approached spawns Tal-Vashoth. Check the camp for a [CHEST - COMPLEX]

then head west to the larger camp. Loot the various [CRATES] and [BARRELS] and

enter the southern part of this camp to find more Tal-Vashoth. The [PILE OF

BONES] to the south past the Tal-Vashoth holds a [QUNARI SWORD]. Leave this camp

and go south for another battle against the Tal-Vashoth.

Backtrack to the east until you find an [ELFROOT]. Near the entrance on this

path is a [CORPSE] and [THE AWIERGAN SCROLLS: FIRST ASPECT]. Head back west

until you can go south, then defeat the group of hostiles. Speak with Samson

and continue south where you can some [RUBBLE] and [PILES OF BONES]. During the

talks with Thrask your choices really make no effect as the result is always

the same. Defeat Grace and save the hostage, after Cullen will come to question

you. Two options are obvious with the results, but having Samson restored to

his duty as a Templar lets you meet him again in a later quest.

Loot Grace for [HELM OF THE CHAMPION] and [THE TIGER'S TAIL]. Check the [CHEST

- COMPLEX] then head north and then to the west. Here you will encounter a

large group of Corpses and eventually Medan, if you started The Awiergan Scrolls

First Aspect. Loot Medan for [GIRDLE OF THE ELDERS] then check the [CRATE] to

the south for [FORMULA: FELL GRENADE]. Take the western path at the split to

find [EMBRIUM] and a [PILE OF BONES] then take the other path. Check the [CRATE]

and a [PILE OF BONES] for a [QUNARI SWORD]. Here you will also find Magnus and

his wares.

The Awiergan Scrolls: First Aspect [04.35.01]

This scroll can be found in The Wounded Coast, just to the south of the

entrance. Head to the far west side of this area to find Corpses and Medan,

kill them to complete the quest.

The Awiergan Scrolls: Second Aspect [04.35.02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This scroll can be found in Sundermount in the same area you fought the

enemies of the Third Aspect. As you ascend the mountain you will encounter

Bysmor, Beacon, and Gifre just past the graveyard. Defeat them to finish this

quest.

The Awiergan Scrolls: Third Aspect [04.35.03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This scroll can be found in Sundermount before you reach the Dalish Camp. If

you head towards the Sundermount Caverns you will be attacked by an Arcane

Horror and several other enemies. Defeat them to finish the quest.

The Awiergan Scrolls: Pride Unbound [04.35.04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You obtain this quest after completing one of the Aspects. You cannot complete

this quest until you have completed all three of them. Head to Darktown just

south of Anders' Clinic to find the Hidden Lair. Here you must face Hybris, a

truly tough fight. Be sure to stay out of his Crushing Prison spell, it is a

rather telegraphed large circle, simply move out of it. Loot Hybris for the

[GLANDIVALIS], a powerful Weapon and Shield Sword.

King Alistar [04.35.05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements: Alistair becomes King in Dragon Age: Origins Import

OR

Choose The Hero of Ferelden or The Martyr background

To finish this quest simply head to Viscount's Keep and speak with the King.

The Lost Swords [04.35.06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements: Obtain the Arishok's respect in Act II

Speak with the Taarbas in Hightown to start this quest. He wants you to find

the Qunari Swords that were left behind. Consult the table below to find the

location of all ten. Every time you turn a sword in you will gain experience

and the Taarbas will ask if you want coin for the troubles. Taking coin results

in nominal increases while taking no coin and finding all ten will net you the

[BASSRATH-KATA], a weapon unique to Hawke's class.

Head to the Gallows after accepting this quest from the Writing Desk at the

Hawke Estate. After the scene you are left with the inevitable choice of taking

sides, you must choose either the mages or the templars. There are consequences

to the choices you make, some party members will leave during these choices.

Fenris will leave if you side with the Mages and haven't completed all of his

Companion Quests. If Fenris leaves then Aveline will stay, but if he stays then

Aveline will leave if her Friendship is below 50%. You must also decide to kill

Anders, set him free, or to rejoin the party. If you don't execute him then

Sebastian will leave the party, no negotiation. If you side with the mages and

set Anders free then you may recruit him back later. Obviously, killing Anders

means he is gone from the party.

Siding with the Templars [04.36.01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After siding with the Templars you must fight off a group of mages. After the

scene with Anders you start off in Lowtown. Loot the numerous [CRATES] and

[BARRELS] as well as a [CHEST - COMPLEX] in the Bazaar then move east. As you

head south an Abomination is born and at it's side, Shades. Defeat the Rage

Demons that come next and continue your path to the Docks. Unfortunately, a

large group of Abominations and a Desire Demon impede your path. Further along

is a group of Circle Mages.

As you enter the Docks loot the [BARREL], [CORPSE], [CRATE], and [CHEST -

COMPLEX] then defeat the Pride Demon and the Blood Mage. To the east you will

find [THE ENIGMA OF KIRKWALL] but the west is the direction you must head in

order to reach the Gallows. You have the chance to talk to all the party

members before taking off. If Aveline is still Captain of the Guard then you

can ask her have the guard help out in the battle.

As you enter the Templar Hall run up the steps and take out the mages. Once

they are all defeated a small group approaches you asking to be spared. You may

choose whichever path you want without fear of consequence. Head through the

eastern door and defeat the large number of mages. Beware of the [TRAP -

COMPLEX] strewn abouts the floor. Head north and into the eastern room to find

anothe group of hostiles. The northern room is booby trapped but contains a

[CORPSE]. Head through the other door to the north to find Sandal, in all his

glory, waiting for you.

Backtrack and enter the western area to find an Arcane Horror and more

waiting for you. Disarm the [TRAP - COMPLEX] and enter Orsino's room to find a

[CHEST - STANDARD] with [DREAMCATCHER] and [MARK OF THE FALLEN] inside. In

Meredith's room is a [CHEST - MASTER] containing [TEMPLAR CEREMONIAL CUMMERBUND]

grab it then enter the next room. Open the [CHEST] for [DRAGONHIDE MANTLE OF THE

PREDATOR] then enter the western room to find two Pride Demons and a slew of

other spirits. Loot the [CORPSE] and [PILE OF BONES] to find the [SHIELD OF THE

RESOLUTE] then return to where Sandal is located and go north into the Templar

Hall.

| The battle starts off with Orsino in his Hulking form. During this form he |

| will use Blood Drain often, this attack can be and should be interrupted in |

| order to prevent any healing. When flanked Orsino will use Ground Slam to |

| stun nearby enemies. This initial phase should go by rather easily, once |

| his health is depleted he will take a Scuttling form and summon low rank |

| Corpses. During this form Orsino is very fast, use slowing spells to keep |

| him in place and pummel him. Once his health is drained he will return to |

| his hulking form one last time. Defeat him once more to end the battle. |

After the battle with Orsino, return to the Courtyard for another scene and

the final battle.

| Many of Meredith's attacks can be dodged by simply running towards her if |

| you react quickly. If you can dodge the Energy Burst attack you can lead it |

| back to Meredith and actually cause her to stun herself. The Drop Thrust |

| technique can also be dodged and will leave Meredith temporarily stunned as |

| well. There are three total phases to this fight, but Meredith's attacks |

| and actions remain the same in all the phases. At 75% health she will summon|

| a Gate Guardian. At 50% she will summon another Gate Guardian as well as |

| Stone Statues. Stone Statues will continue to spawn on a regular basis at |

| this point in the battle. At 25% Meredith will summon two Gate Guardians |

| simultaneously. When Meredith reaches 5% she will essentially pause the |

| battle and give a death speech. Give her everything you have since your |

| cooldowns should be up, this should end the fight. |
