"I'm so hot," I muttered, staring at Levi as he entered the dining hall for breakfast the next morning.

"Stop drooling."

"Can't help it- I'm stunning," I leaned forward, staring over at him, "you're lucky I love myself."

"Yeah right," Levi rolled his eyes, taking a seat across from me. "That brat keeps on following me around."

AHAHH

"Eren?"

"Yeah, so much for helping you make up," he poked at the food in front of him.

"He probably has nothing better to do," I shrugged, "that or Mikasa hasn't found him yet so he's staying with you to delay the inevitable."

"The inevitable?"

"She's going to curb stomp him."

"Wow."

"I'm supposed to put in a good word- but-"

"But?"

"I figure while she's laying into him we can try and find those records we need."

we should get AT LEAST an hour

"What's going to stop her from laying into us?"

"Stealth and secrecy," I whisper yelled over at him, beaming. "There will be other guards but it shouldn't be hard to get them out of the way."

armin, jean, connie, and sasha- they shouldn't be a problem at all

"You're terrifying."

"Thank you," I gave an overexaggerated bow, "let's finish our breakfast and drop Eren off- while there I'll ask one of the others to accompany me to the storehouse under the guise of digging out my baby portraits-"

and then at some point we convince them to stand outside and watch!

this feels like an oversimplification

the more you think about it the harder it gets

"Why the fuck are your portraits in the same place as highly classified documents."

"Oh Levi- I fear your head was too far up your ass to notice- but when we were younger I was an angel."

"Bullshit- I knew you- you chased other children around with frogs."

"And you were scared," I chuckled at the memory. "Is that why you hate me? Because I played with frogs? I was an adorable child."

"If frog terrorism is adorable I'm sure you were," he muttered dryly. "I had better things to do as a child."

"You were kinda weird as a kid," I frowned, trying to remember, "your mother is totally normal so I have no idea how that happened."

"Bold coming from the frog terrorist."

"You're still weird."

"You're still a fucking terror."

"And I look amazing doing it."

"You were horrible."

"Just because I was 'horrible'- which for the record I wasn't- doesn't mean that I wasn't a totally adorable child," I shook my head at him, "you're just blind to the truth."

"I thought you had some self awareness."

"I am aware that I am and always have been gorgeous."

"This is so stupid."

"Listen if you aren't going to take my word for it perhaps we should just go see them ourselves-"

"Is the document we're looking for in the storehouse or do you just want to show off your portraits?"

"Stop questioning women Levi- it's a bad look."

"Right now it looks like you're the one questioning a woman."

"The moment I get back into my body I'm exposing your sexism to the world."

"I'd like to see you try."

"You should be scared."

"Fuck no."

"Shall we find Eren?"

"Let's get this over with."

"Alright," I nodded- "I wonder where he's hiding."

"There you are!" The loud slightly obnoxious boy in question raced up to Levi and I as we stepped out of the dining room.

"That was fast," Levi muttered under his breath.

"I was just about to go look for you," I beamed over at Eren, "I need you to go get yelled at by Mikasa."

"No way," Eren stopped in his tracks.

"Yes way," I grabbed his hands, "please? It's going to have to happen eventually- the sooner you do it the better."

she'll only get worse with time

"You owe me."

"Really? You'll do it?"

"You really owe me."

"Thank god you agreed- I was worried we were going to have to drag you there," I muttered, letting Eren lead the way. "Stall her for as long as possible."

"What are you planning?"

"We talked about it, remember?"

"Oh," he glanced back at Levi who was trailing a few steps behind, "good luck."

"You don't sound very sincere."

"Do I have to be?"

"The sooner we get this over with the sooner Levi and I swap back."

"Are you sure that you'll find what you want?"

"Don't say that- it's depressing," I frowned at him, "I hope we find it."

"We will," Levi spoke up.

"See Eren? We will," I grinned.

"You're way too happy about this," Eren shot me a look of disgust, "this is gross."

"You're gross."

"No."

"Your room begs to differ-"

"Both of you are gross, end of discussion."

"Levi! You wound me-" I gasped, clutching my chest.

"You deserve it," Eren grumbled, shooting a look back at Levi.

"He insulted you too- idiot."

"YEAH WAIT-"

"Did it seriously take that long for you to realize that? There's something wrong with you," I deadpanned as we turned the corner, running straight into Mikasa.

"Eren."

"Oh."

"I've been looking for you."

"Have fun Eren," I nudged him forward, gesturing for Levi to keep walking.

"YOU'RE JUST GOING TO LEAVE ME?"

"Well yeah? I'm a busy person."

"You're horrible."

"I'll pay you back later."

"And just where are you two planning on going?" Mikasa stopped Levi and I in our tracks.

it's never easy

"I was planning on showing Levi my baby pictures- in the storehouse," I called back to her, avoiding turning around for fear that she would be able to see through our lie.

"Run if she notices," Levi whispered, glancing quickly over his shoulder.

"Don't look back- she'll see the fear in your eyes," I whispered back, pinching his hand.

"Is that all?" Mikasa questioned.

OH GOD

"Yeah- he seems to think that I was ugly as a kid and I have honor to uphold."

"Alright-" she hesitated, "Sasha-"
