"Do you need any help?" I left Levi behind to join Hanji in the kitchen.

"Can you help?" She chuckled, handing me a stack of dishes, "find some space on the table for these."

"Ma'am?" Hanji burst out laughing, "I'm not that old- or well- ok I am that old."

"What would you like to be called? I don't want to be rude-"

"I never thought I would see the day where a L/N would worry about my feelings," she gave me a quick once over, "although I suppose if any of L/N felt indebted to me it would be you."

"I try to be a little nicer than my father," I grinned. "He's not all bad though- he raised me."

"I'll believe it when I see it," Hanji paused, walking with me to the dining room table with a stack of glasses. "Just call me Hanji."

"Alright then- Hanji- there must have been someone from my family who was nice to you," I thought back to the records Levi and I had found. "At one point you did research for them didn't you?"

"True," she mused, "I suppose over 100 years ago they did sponsor my research, that doesn't mean we had tea together."

"Then-"

"If you're thinking of inviting me out I'll have to decline-"

"Are you sure?"

"I don't think I'm welcome," her face dropped slightly.
