"Don't look at me like that," Hanji chuckled, "I just told you how to fix your situation, you should be jumping for joy."

this is the end of the world

"Thank you-" I managed to grit my teeth and smile, "is that the only solution?"

please no

"For now," she nodded, "if you gave me a month or two I could come up with something else."

oh

"We don't have that kind of time," Levi said exactly what was on my mind.

so then-

"It's just a kiss," Hanji shrugged, "if you don't want it to mean anything it won't." Her lingering gaze seemed to imply something.

i know that look- i've given it to historia and ymir a thousand times over

'do you want it to mean something?'

then again- how can it not

im supposed to hate levi ackerman

our decade of fighting only recently ended- of course its going to mean something

"It's just a kiss," Levi nodded, reaffirming something within himself.

oh

he doesn't mean that

what's that supposed to mean

"You're right- it's just a kiss," I glanced over to Levi, making sure he was still ok with it.

he lied first

"Is that so?" She hummed, "then get on with it, you have promises to keep."

right- i agreed to answer her questions

"Well wait-" I sputtered, "maybe we could do it somewhere a little more private?"

isn't it-

well its my first kiss

so it's definitely his first kiss

"I thought it was just a kiss?" Hanji teased, "alright- I'll give you five minutes of alone time, have fun." She walked to her room- waving goodbye.

levi is suspiciously silent

"I guess- we should get on with it," I turned in my seat to face Levi, unable to make eye contact for longer than a couple of seconds without looking away.

"Yeah," he mumbled, "just a kiss and everything will be back to normal."

i actually feel like it makes it worse

"We're friends," I affirmed, "it doesn't mean anything so don't overthink it."

you make it sound so easy y/n

I MEAN IN THEORY IT IS

in theory

"Close your eyes," Levi avoided my gaze, his eyes fixed on the floor.

ok-

"Don't do anything weird-" I reached out for his hands as my eyes squeezed shut, "promise."

"This is weird."

"Nothing weirder than kissing."

"Ok."

"Say it?"

"What?"

"Promise."

"Ok, I promise," he gave me a reassuring squeeze.

ok i think i'm ready now

I could feel Levi's breath fanning against my lips, the anticipation building in my stomach.

this is a lot-

"On second thought-" I opened my eyes in time to be silenced by his lips crashing onto mine.

or i suppose its the other way around-

His- my lips were warm and sweet.

is it wrong to enjoy this?

Unconsciously I pulled his hand towards me, forcing the two of us closer, he made no move to pull away.

oh

I could hear the chairs scraping slightly against the floor as we leaned into each other.

it feels good

"A peck would have worked," we bumped heads in an attempt to move apart as Hanji abruptly interrupted.

"You didn't say-" I rushed to defend myself.

"I assumed it was implied," her grin widened, "it's ok if you li-"

"I thought that shit was supposed to switch us back," Levi cursed, cutting her off.

ouch

"You should start feeling it soon," Hanji chuckled, "it would be best if you moved to the ground- I don't want you to hurt yourselves."

"Why-" the minute the words left my mouth my vision began to blur, the last thing I saw before the world went dark was my own worried face hovering over me.

its almost familiar

The next time my eyes opened I found myself lying on the bed, staring at a peacefully sleeping Levi.

it worked

"I'm back?" I whispered aloud to myself, rushing out of bed to find the closest mirror.

how long has it been-

who cares-

IM BACK

"You're finally awake," Hanji poked her head through the door, "for a second there I was worried I had lost both of you."

"You couldn't kill me that easily," I grinned, touching my face in the mirror, "I have a lot left to do,"

"I presume kissing that boy is somewhere on the list."

"Hanji!" I whipped my head towards her- "I really need to catch you up on our history."

"You seemed to have a lot of-" she coughed slightly, "chemistry."

"Really?" I blinked at her for a minute before remembering my priorities- "don't answer that- it's going to make me think harder than I want to."

god it feels so good to be back

"Alright," she shrugged, "you should let him sleep- join me for a cup of tea."

"Ok," I nodded, casting one last glance at Levi's sleeping form.

he looks so peaceful

he's going to be so excited

i'm excited

"Do you think he's given me wrinkles?" I rubbed my hands over my forehead as I followed behind her, "I kept on telling him to stop frowning- it was going to ruin my skin."

"I wouldn't know," Hanji hummed, placing two steaming mugs of tea on the small dining room table, "you're lucky he made it to a soft surface, he's going to wake up with a bump."

oh right- i fell

"Hanji-" I frowned slightly, a thought suddenly hitting me, "if we kiss again- wait no- if I kiss someone- is my soul going to get shunted into their body?"

"I knew you were interested in more!" She cheered, "and no I don't think so- it only worked because your souls were swapped- it would take another traumatic incident for your soul to leave again."

good

"I'm not interested."

"I will pretend to believe you," she paused, "there are a few things I would like to do before you leave to make sure something like that doesn't happen again."

"You have no clue how important this is."

"I think I have some idea," she grinned, "it's a bit awkward to have feelings for yourself isn't it?"

"That's not it-" I protested, "I mean I was in love with my face long before Levi Ackerman began puppeting my body."

narcissism is one of my good traits

"Sure, sure."

"You'll have to believe me-"

"Fine-" she sighed dramatically, "I believe I'm owed the answers to some of my questions."

"Right- I promised- ask away."

"Was the kiss good?"

"Hanji!"

"What? This whole situation is making me feel like I might have a future career in matchmaking if I ever get forced out of the forest-"

"I wouldn't do that-"

"Well- yes- that's beside the point, how was it?"

you can't-

"I'm not going to answer that."

"No fun," she pouted slightly, "alright, I'll move on to the serious questions- give me a moment."

it was amazing

i want-

i want more
