we left Levi's home, caught up with the knights, learned that i died, went into the magical forest, got chased around the magical forest, met a 100+ year old woman in the magical forest, kissed, swapped back into our real bodies, fought, learned that my dad died, officially started our relationship

"They're probably worried about me," I nodded, "and none of us know what's been happening in the capital since we left."

so historia is a good place to go

"I'll arrange for a carriage to take you tomorrow."

"Levi-" I turned to look at him, "you don't have to come with me- in fact you should probably take the time to catch up with Isabel and Farlan."

i think its going to be really awkward if levi, ymir, and historia are in the same room

like i feel like levi might get slapped or something

"Are you sure?" Farlan looked at me warily as Levi watched on in silence.

"Yeah," I looked over at Levi, grinning, "you're tired of me aren't you?"

"How did you know?" He shot back, the smile on his face betraying his true thoughts, "if you need me I have no issue going with you."

"I'm sure you're dying to spend an entire day being glowered at by Historia and Ymir, but I'll release you."

"I think I'm allowed to be a little cringe," I shrugged, glancing back over at Levi, "and you're allowed to be cringe until I decide otherwise."

"Y/N, come with me, I'll show you to your room," Farlan gestured for me to follow him out the door.

right- i can't just stay in levi's room anymore

"Right-" I glanced back at Levi, but he seemed too preoccupied talking over something with Isabel to follow.

"It's close, you won't have to relearn the layout or anything," Farlan began to lead me through the winding hallways.

"Yeah-" I thought back to my brief stay here, "I kinda did some bad things in Levi's body while I was here."

there was that maid-

"Oh?"

"I mean it wasn't bad I was just nice in his body to one of the maids," I scrubbed my brain for her name, "we're probably even he was definitely out of character in my body as well."

"This is the first time the two of us are having a proper conversation," Farlan nodded.

oh i guess you're right

"So? How is it? Much better than the poor impersonation Levi was doing."

"Different."

"Well that's definitely putting it lightly," I chuckled, "Levi did a good job but he failed to really harness my natural charm."

"That and-" he looked back at me, "our interactions prior to your bodies swapping weren't the most pleasant."

oh right

"In my defense Levi was a huge asshole to me."

"Right."

"But I'll admit- I could've been a little nicer to you- you were just following orders right?"

it was still really really really annoying

constantly getting pulled away to have awful conversations with levi

farlan kinda became a symbol of that

"Levi wasn't exactly understanding of you either."

"Exactly- I knew I liked you Farlan."

"It's this one," he gestured to a door across the hall from the room I recognized as being Levi's.

"Are you going to go back there?" I gestured back the way we came, "I imagine you're also eager to catch up."

"In a moment."

"Oh?"

"The Duchess wanted me to relay something to you," he pulled out a small piece of paper, "I figured it would be better to give it to you separately."

huh

"Thank you," I took the folded letter, staring at it.

"I'll return now."

In the quiet of the room I unfolded the crumpled piece of paper, a short message was written down in the middle of the page.

'Please watch out for him'
