Chapter 7: A private workshop for two.

The appointment time with the communication specialist was around 10 o'clock, and both Faye and Yoko arrived at the office at about the same time.

Seeing Faye smiling and waving at her, Yoko ran towards her.

"Hello, sis." Little Yoko seemed to have learned her lesson this time, and didn't freeze when she saw Faye. She gave Faye a latte that she had bought earlier, "I heard you said you liked hot lattes."

As if investing in the character, Yoko professionally followed all of Faye's social media pages, and carefully looked at the pictures and posts of this beautiful beauty queen.

Faye received the cup of coffee from her hand, seeing that her other hand was holding another pack of 4 cups of coffee that she had thoughtfully prepared for everyone, Faye reached out to help her hold it so she wouldn't have to carry the weight, "Thank you, let's go to the room."

The office was decorated differently today than usual, the conference table and chairs were gone, replaced by a series of beanbags and soft pillows on the floor, the dry carpets on the floor were replaced by a clean wooden floor. One wall had a projection screen, the other a large mirror. In the corner were a series of colorful lockers. This kind of room reminded Faye more of a dance studio than a conference room.

In the room, besides Director Wan and Assistant Director and Director Min, there was another woman that neither Faye nor Yoko knew. All three were sitting comfortably on soft beanbag chairs, holding scripts and files.

"You two sit down. This is Danny, the communication expert that the company has invited. Danny will closely monitor the filming process as well as advise the two female leads on issues related to information exchange." Assistant director Min introduced Danny to everyone.

Danny seemed to be a few years older than Faye, she was quite thin and slender, her features were delicate, her sharp eyes were hidden behind thick glasses that looked very scholarly, her long brown curly hair was tied up at the back of her head with a pencil. She nodded to the two main actors.

Faye felt lucky that she was wearing jeans and not a skirt, she sat down on the nearest bean bag and stacked the two bean bags next to each other to create height to rest her arms on. This position was a bit difficult for Faye's 1m1 long legs, so she crossed her legs and hugged a small pillow to her chest.

On the other side, little Yoko was much more manageable, she sat neatly in a beanbag, her arms hugging her knees, smiling and listening to everyone.

"To start our first working session, I will give you three rules in advance, you two just need to follow them." Director Wan said: "First, depending on the filming schedule, I will ask you two to act out the scenes in the script, or situations outside the script, as a previous practice. Second, Danny will monitor and can pause, as well as give advice on what to do, both during filming and in real life when you interact with each other. Even if Danny is not there, as long as she feels the need to make adjustments, she can guide you from afar. Third, as if we are actually filming, the company has the right to use and record your images throughout the entire time the film is being filmed. Of course, we will not use private images, so you can rest assured." Wanwan followed the content of the Tripartite Agreement closely and informed Faye and Yoko about the operating method.

It's a bit long-winded, but it's simple, just three main points. When filming, you have to listen to the director. The whole time, you have to listen to Danny's advice. And there will be cameras recording your gestures at all times.

This clearly has only one purpose, which is to crop and collect the best pictures of the two people to publish.

Faye smiled as if nothing had happened, but secretly took a deep breath. It was truly a Devil's Deal, except for the filming time, she had to act the rest of the time. Faye looked at Yoko, saw her nod and said yes, and felt that she probably still hadn't figured out what this deal could be for business purposes. If it was simply a girl love couple, then it would be too lucky for the two of them. Faye feared it would go further than that.

"Thank you, Wan, for giving us the general information. Don't worry too much, I don't have any unreasonable requests." Danny nodded to Wan, glanced at Faye, then turned to Yoko and said gently, "...Yoko, come sit next to Faye."

"Come here baby." Faye made a welcoming gesture with her arms outstretched. Leaning back slightly, she smiled at her.

The shy little Yoko pulled her pillow to sit next to Faye. Although it was a natural action, when Yoko looked into Faye's eyes, she realized how reassuring her gaze was. As she sat down next to her, Faye pulled her closer to her, patting her arm gently to reassure her.

Now the two of them sat in a position as if Faye was hugging Yoko from behind. Even though she tried to naturally joke around to ease her tension, Faye still felt the little girl she was hugging stiffly and shyly.

"Actions like holding hands, cuddling, stroking hair, hugging, even kissing on the cheek. According to the agreement, it is encouraged to take place in public places. So you two should try to get acquainted. We are not just selling a movie, but also selling satisfaction to fans. I will guide you two..." Danny continued to drop a few more outrageous requests.

Danny then cited a few more articles from the Tripartite Agreement, which she called 'The Basics', and began to analyze and guide them slowly. For example, when leaning on another person, which body position should be used to show friendliness, which position would bring about a feeling of invasion and make the other person uncomfortable. Or when holding someone's hand, from the moment of grabbing the arm to pulling the other person back, then stroking down to hold the hand, which way would make both of them feel the most natural. Even when comforting someone who was in pain, if they were standing, sitting or lying down, which body part should be gently touched to be sympathetic and comforting without causing discomfort. Danny required that for each situation, Faye and Yoko had to practice so that they could do it smoothly.

As a professional actress and has been in the entertainment industry for a long time, Faye is very familiar with such interactions with colleagues on screen and is not against them. She has never been the type of star who is high and mighty, untouched by the world. In fact, Faye does not think that such a type exists, everyone has to sacrifice for art, one way or another.

Feeling a small hand groping her little finger, the obedient child listened to the instructions and tried to interact with even the smallest details. Faye smiled but did not expose it, while discussing the work content with Director Wan and Danny, she let her little sister hold her finger. Occasionally, she glanced over and saw the little girl looking at Faye when Faye was talking to everyone, and listening seriously.

The director and the consultant took turns talking about how the interactions between the two actors would benefit the film. The assistant director talked about what the next plan would be. With only a few days left before filming began, the two actors needed to quickly adapt to the script and get to know each other. Getting to know each other, becoming friends, becoming close sisters, all of these were necessary to increase the intimacy between the two.

Wan and Min then gave some scenes that would appear in the first part of the film, and asked Faye and Yoko to act out their scenes. Danny only had the additional requirement that they hold hands while rehearsing. This requirement was quite funny because it wasn't difficult, it was just that the way the two actors handled it really showed the roles of the characters they were playing. With Faye, she was quite proactive, she smiled and held her hand, occasionally fondling and playing with her finger like a toy because it was small and cute. This unconscious action made Yoko shy at first, but gradually she quickly forgot her initial shyness, and easily let Faye hold her hand, sometimes even cutely protesting by using both hands to hold one of Faye's hands, or rubbing the ring on her index finger.

Despite the playful interactions between the two, the two continued to rehearse the movie's lines and scenes that Wan requested.

Those scenes are not difficult dialogues, most of them are conversation scenes, the purpose is simply to make the two people smoother in their exchanges. From there, they have a familiar basis and practice more difficult scenes.

The workshop went smoothly between the two actors, at the end of the session Wan exchanged a few final requests and then the director and assistant director left.

Danny lingered and said, "You two should try to interact more on social media, the accounts you have remember to follow each other. My account is xxxxxx, I will also follow you and give you instructions if there are any." Danny pushed her glasses up on the bridge of her nose slightly, "This is my phone number, 09xxxxxxxx, Yoko may not know, but Faye is very familiar with these issues, but if there is anything, just ask me. Bye." She said and walked out.

Yoko obediently pushed the pile of bean bags into a corner of the room, and when she turned around, she was about to say goodbye to Faye and leave. But she saw Faye looking at her intently, so she paused a bit.

"What's wrong, sister?" Yoko thought she had done something wrong, so she hesitantly asked.

"Let's play a question and answer game." Faye smiled reassuringly, pulling her to sit across from her. "There are no more strangers here, you don't need to worry."

"Yes, of course." Even though she didn't quite understand what Faye meant, Yoko still obediently sat down.

"When I got your phone number, I was going to text you but then I thought I couldn't express it all. We need to meet in person to talk."

What Faye said was confusing and worrying to Yoko, she opened her eyes wide to show her confusion.

"This movie doesn't just require us to act out the characters, but also requires us to transform into the characters in real life. You and I will go from being strangers to becoming the closest to each other, in order to create the most genuine interaction for the movie. So I hope you can gradually accept and see me as a close older sister, and I will also treat you like my younger sister."

Faye had been thinking about this for a long time. If you want a romantic movie to be as real as possible, there must be real feelings in it. It may not be love like in the movies, but at least it must reach the level of friends and sisters. Furthermore, because Yoko was still quite young, and the movie had high requirements in many aspects, Faye felt that the fastest way to understand was to talk about it.

She was a very smart person after all , Faye thought, working with smart people needed everything to be clear.

"And I think the fastest way for us to understand each other is to talk about the basics of each other's lives. Things that the information on the internet doesn't show or shows incorrectly." Faye smiled gently. "I'll go first, I like girls, I've always been like that. Does this make you uncomfortable?"
