I'm easy like Sunday mornin'
Waking up, I sat up slowly, my eyes still shut tight. I groaned and rubbed my cheeks, sniffed, and peeked at the clock to check what time it was.
9:32 am
Sighing, I slowly reached over to my left and felt around, but my hand didn't come into contact with Soren. He must be up. With that, I shuffled to he bathroom and got ready for the day, thinking to catch up with some shopping and errands. Exiting the bathroom, feeling refreshed, the smell of breakfast wafted from the kitchen down the hallway, my nose picking up the scent.
Ooh, pancakes.
Excitedly rushing to the kitchen, I found Soren in sweatpants with a chef's apron over his chest, whistling as he cooked the morning meal. Grinning, I hugged him from behind, kissing the back of his neck.
Soren! You didn't have to!
His only response was a chuckle and a Good morning to you too, babe, before going back to sizzle more pancakes. Smiling, I stood there, arms around his torso, watching the delicious discs being slid onto a plate already stacked high with them. I hummed, enjoying the moment with the sunlight shining rays of warmth onto both of us, basking in each others' company.
As the final pancake was done, I helped Soren bring the plates to the table and began to eat. I dug into my plate, relishing the fluffiness and utter superiority of my boyfriend's pancakes compared to any other joint's. I didn't notice that he just sat there and watched me eat, a dopey smile gracing his features, his eyes pooled with love and adoration.
Once I had noticed, crumbs were all over my face and my eyes were blown wide, surprised that he was looking at me the whole time. My face grew red in embarrassment, a bashful grin tugging at my lips as I stopped, laughing a little.
You have something on your face. Soren began leaning into me, and started licking the crumbs off of my face, cheekily smiling at my reaction.
You're gonna give me a heart attack, one day. He laughed heartily, finally taking a bite of his breakfast.
Not my fault you're so cute. I stayed silent, flustered and kept on enjoying my meal, feeling Soren's leg gently brush mine every once in a while. The atmosphere felt comfortable, a calm morning with the blushing sun, birds and cicadas chirping outside, lush plantation surrounding us, as we lived close to the King's garden.
Finishing the last bite of my pancakes, I went to go put away my plate, Soren following suit, carrying his dirty dish to the sink. Turning on the water tap, I started to scrub the grime off of both the plates, Soren behind me, arms hanging loosely around my waist, hands barely resting atop my thighs.
I could feel his breaths against my neck, and his heartbeat, his body pushed up against mine. It wasn't really sexual, but in a precious manner -- pure love, you could say. But I found it worrying that Soren was half-naked. The top half, of course. But nevertheless, I still was kind of thinking it was for an ulterior motive.
Once I had completed and finally cleaned at the plates, Soren was still clinging onto me like a big baby, walking with me as I sat down, him behind me, still spooning my body. Relaxing, my stomach full and wrapped in the arms of someone I loved, I closed my eyes and rested my head against one of his shoulders, hands sitting tight in my lap.
We stayed that way for a while, his fond eyes glued onto my soft features, his lips gently kissing my neck and cheek every so often. I melted at his touch, smiling gently as he whispered sweet nothings into my ear. Fluttering my eyes open, I was only met with sky blue eyes, glittering in the sunlight.
Why are you so perfect? I sighed, cupping his cheek with my hand, pecking his nose. Soren grinned and hugged me tighter, a hand slipping under my chin to raise my head up, my eyes now directly pointed at him.
I'm not, you are, babe. I groaned, rolling my eyes, but smiling at the cute reply.
Shut up already. Pressing my lips against his, I closed my eyes again, both hands now cupping his face, body turned sideways. One of his arms slipped around my waist, and the other rested on my thigh. He let a breath out through his nose as I moved my hands to peruse and comb through his blonde and brown locks, thumbs caressing the sides of his head.
I leaned back once things started to get too heated and left Soren mid-kiss. The moment he didn't feel my touch against him anymore, he gasped and pouted, looking at me like I had betrayed him.
You tease, he grumbled, angrily staring at me. I laughed and pinched his cheek, smiling slyly. The tips of his ears turned red as embarrassment overcame him, arms only getting a tighter hold of my body. He buried his head in the crook of my neck, his face hot to the touch. I gently patted the side of his head, sighing at his childishness.
You're such a kid, Soren. Suddenly, he whipped his head up and grabbed ahold of my shoulders, turning my torso so that my chest faced his, eyes glaring at mine, intensely burning, bright as ever.
Well does a kid have this? He grabbed my hand and slapped it on his stomach, sending me into a blushing fit, my heartbeat shooting up and out of the roof. Soren started to move my hand around quickly, allowing me to feel the muscles he'd built over the years of sword-fighting.
God, this was not pure at all.
S-Soren, I squeaked, hiding my face in one hand, Please- Oh God- The moment I looked up, I got even more flustered, as his facial expression screamed absolute seriousness, eyebrows furrowed and mouth pressed in a straight line.
Babe, answer me! To satisfy him, I shook my head sporadically, then jerked my hand away, quietly screaming into both of my hands. The only reaction I got from him was a laugh at my frenzied state, and a raspberry as he once more enveloped me in his arms.
I'm not a kid, he stated proudly, humming in satisfaction. I took a deep breath and tried to calm my wild mind, realizing that this wasn't the peaceful Sunday morning I had really been hoping for, but it furthered our relationship, in a way, nevertheless.
A pink tint was still evident on my face as I chuckled, fondly gazing into Soren's eyes, ending the funny dispute. My eyes creased as a genuine smile made its way onto my features, eyes pooling up with devotion and passion, admiring the way he made me laugh and blush so easily.
I felt like he thought the same, as he landed one final kiss before getting up with me still cradled in his arms.
C'mon babe, you have work to do. I nodded reluctantly, gingerly prying his arms off of me.
I'll be back soon. Don't miss me too much, handsome. Soren's features softened, shooting me a thumbs-up before watching me head to the door, arms crossed and a crooked grin on his face. I slipped on my shoes and was ready to head out the door but stopped and looked backwhen I heard his voice.
Don't keep me waiting too long, baby. I chuckled, smiling once more to the man I swear I was going to get married to.
I won't. Don't worry, Soren.
