Chapter 3
Yuri's POV
"Unnie, you think too much. If Sica unnie was really that cold to you or if she didn't like you, then she wouldn't have taken the time to teach you how to model before," Yoona whispered to me from behind my seat.
"You owe us a cake and a pink Minnie doll for just now,"Tiffany piped in.
"What? Why do I have to give up my Mickey's precious wife? I didn't even agree to anything," I whispered back to Tiffany.
I'll admit though, she did help me with the seating. But at the same time, I feel like as if she was playing a trick on me. Being this dangerously close to Jessica made me even more nervous. Unsure of when she's going to snap, I didn't bother to wake her up and just continued talking to Yoona about her outrageous plans to make Jessica like me more.
"You two can go to the sauna together. That's a sure way to melt anything. Oh! How about this, we'll hide a bunch of cucumbers underneath her blanket tonight. Then when the timing is right, you'll rush into her room and save her from the green monsters. Hero Yuri!" Overhearing Yoona's silly ideas, Sunny let out a giggle. I laughed along knowing that these ideas would never be put to use.
Yoona continued with her imaginations, one wilder than the last. Jessica stirred a few times and every time we would talk even lower. Afraid of waking up the Sleeping Beauty, Yoona came as close to me as possible to the point where I can feel her hot breath against my cheek.
Then the unexpected happened. Jessica gently lowered her head against my shoulder. Surprised by her actions, we all widened our eyes --including Sooyoung who had been too busy chewing her food in the back to comment on Yoona's ideas.
After confirming that Jessica was still sleeping, Yoona said, "You definitely owe me a cake and Fany, her Minnie." At that same moment, Jessica looped her arm around mine and rested her other hand on it.
For the rest of the ride, we were all silent. Yoona had ran out of ideas and Sunny went back to playing her video game. Tiffany was busy text messaging somebody. Presumably Taeyeon. And Sooyoung had fallen asleep from overeating.
When we finally arrived, all the girls got out of the car except for me and Jessica. I stopped Tiffany before she got out and pleaded her with my eyes to help wake Jessica up. Instead of lending me a hand, she just gave me her puppy smile and said, "Youri, hwaiting!"
I turned back to look at the angel sleeping beside me. Swallowing hard and gathering courage, I shook her softly. "Sica ah, we're here. Wake up."
She raised her eyebrows slightly and frowned a bit. I shook her again, using a bit more strength this time, but to no avail. I thought about threatening her with a cucumber, but was afraid of upsetting her when her attitude towards me was finally beginning to change.
Afraid that the others might hear what I'm about to say next, I leaned close to Jessica's ear and whispered, "Sica, apparently we're having yogurt for dessert tonight. If you want to avoid Taeyeon's hurricane diarrhea, you better wake up now and eat and shower quickly."
Jessica gave me the biggest smile before opening her eyes. "Yuri-yah, you better not let Taeyeon hear that." With that, she slid her hand that was looped around my arm down to my hand. "Let's go, Yuri," she said still smiling.
I climbed out of the van pulling Jessica out with me. We walked back to the dorm together holding hands the whole time. When we arrived back at the dorm, we were greeted by an excited Yoona.
"Unnies! Hurry up and come eat before Sooyoung finishes everything."
I decided to be funny and asked her, "Are we having yogurt for dessert?"
Jessica chuckled at my question while Yoona just gave me a puzzled look before replying, "No. We're having cake." She gave me a wink before pulling on my free hand towards the dining table.
Jessica's smile flipped 180 degrees and her glowing eyes became cold once more. With Yoona tugging on my hand, I had to release my hold of Jessica's hand and followed Yoona into the room where all the other girls were feasting.
"Youri! Look at all the food that TaeTae and our maknae prepared for us!" Tiffany exclaimed. There was indeed a lot of food on the table. Enough to feed a whole army. I looked at the food once more before turning to Yoona. "Yoong, are you sure you'll still have room for my cake after this?"
"Hahaha! Maybe not. Tomorrow then. Promise me." She stuck out her pinky finger waiting for me to agree. I quickly shook her pinky finger and was about to grab a plate for myself and Jessica before I realized that she was already on the opposite end of the table glowering back at me.
That night, all nine of us were eating happily, feeding one another. I tried to avoid looking at Jessica but it was hard when Tiffany kept screaming "open wide" to her. Even when she wasn?'t being fed, I noticed that she was eating a lot more than usual tonight. Even Sooyoung picked up on it. "Yah! Sica! Stop eating all the food. Leave some for me."
When we were done eating, Taeyeon and Seohyun went to take a shower first while the rest of us cleaned up. I helped the others with their chores since they all seemed to be having a food hangover. Especially Sooyoung. I quickly finished washing the plates and looked around to see if there was anything else left to do. Jessica appeared to be the only one left still cleaning.
Walking on eggshells, I went over and politely asked her if she needed any help. She gave me a piercing look and said, "Oh, now you want to help Yuri? After helping Yoona and Tiffany clear the table, after helping Sooyoung put away the food, after helping Hyoyeon wash the dishes, now you want to help me clean the kitchen? You might as well have waited until tomorrow to ask." She threw the cloth that she was using to wipe the stove at me. "Help all you want. I'm going to go take a shower."
Yoona and Tiffany looked at me from the couch expecting me to explain what just happened. I just shrugged my shoulders as I myself didnâ??t know the reason for Sica's sudden outburst.
I was the last to take a shower since Jessica had left a lot of cleaning undone. It seemed as if she was only concentrating on cleaning this one spot on the stove. She even managed to remove Sooyoung's tomato stain.
