[Longfic] More Everyday | Yulsic | Chap 6
Chapter 6
Jessica's POV
My hand wasn't really hurting that much. I just wanted to get out of there because seeing everybody with their own personal non-traditional breakfast that Yuri cooked made me feel slightly embarrassed. But what bothered me the most was the cake.
I thought Yuri was starting to pay attention to me when she told me last night that I smell like kiwi. But nothing in today's menu had kiwi in it. I noticed that everybody had some strawberries in their dish though. And mine was just a black piece of rock.
But the cake! Argh! Why did she promise Yoong a cake? And apparently, she even woke up extra early to make it. Then the sight of her getting kisses from those two Shiksins!
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize there was a person in front of me. I crashed into her but was able to regain my balance by holding onto this person's shoulders. She supported my weight as I leaned forward pressing my body onto hers.
"Sica ah, didn't you hear me calling your name ten thousand times?" an out of breath Yuri asked me.
I didn't want to look into her eyes in fear that I might cry over some burnt omelette. So I just held onto her shoulders and gazed into her jacket, playing with it by pinching at the material.
"No. I can't hear properly when I'm hungry..." I mumbled.
She pulled me in closer to hug me and as a response, I wrapped my arms around her neck and rested my head on her shoulder. As she was patting my head, I felt her shake hers. "Haha! Of course. I'll treat our shiksin number 3 to a big breakfast after the doctor's. Just the two of us. I didn't really eat either."
She released me from our hug and looked at me with hopeful eyes waiting for my confirmation. Instead of giving a direct answer, I reached out with my bandaged hand to wipe her cheek. "Sooyoung kissed you with her greasy lips."
Yuri instantly started to wipe the area that I just touched and said, "Aish, next time I'm making that girl have only water for breakfast. But then for sure she won't kiss me. She'll probably throw the glass of water at me instead."
I smiled for a brief second before pouting my lips again. With my hand resting on her shoulder, I asked her, "Do you want her to kiss you again?"
Yuri took my injured hand that was on her shoulder into her own and just smiled at me. "Silly, let's go see that doctor about your hand so we can eat."
I was about to hold onto her before she pulled away from me again. I watched her take off her jacket and place it around my shoulders.
"The morning air is chilly and I don't want to keep accompanying you to the doctor's," Yuri said as she tugged at the front of the jacket together.
I felt her warm body heat that lingered in the jacket. And the warmth of her hand was in mine once more.

"Mmmm... Ms. Jung, you seem to have broken your hand. What did you do to it?" the doctor said to me with a concerned look.
"What? How is that possible? It doesn't feel broken. All I did was scrub a stove. Really hard that is. But that was it. Really. I don't get it. How do you break your hand like that?? Sure, I was mad at the time, but if I had broken my hand then it would've hurt. A lot. No? But all I felt at that time was anger. Oh and somebody pulled and hit my hand really hard the next day. And --"
"Haha, Ms. Jung --"
"-- and I already applied medication on it and it --"
"Ms. Jung..."
"-- doesn't even hurt that much anymore. So it can't --"
"MS. JUNG!" the doctor finally cut me off from my rushed explanation.
Looking over my shoulder, he said to Yuri who was standing behind me, "Ms. Jung is a serious young lady eh?"
He returned his eyes to me and continued, "Ms. Jung. I was joking. It's not everyday that a beautiful young lady steps into my office. Imagine if I had said this to an ahjumma or an old man? They would probably faint!" He continued laughing and I heard Yuri chuckling along from behind.
I turned around and gave her a cold glare while pouting at the same time. Yuri tried to stifle her laughs by pressing her lips together but her smile can still be seen.
"I should make a note here: Ahjumma Jung. No jokes." The doctor scribbled something on my file but I got distracted by Yuri's burst of hysterical laughter to see what he wrote.
"Kwon Yuri!" I got up from the chair and walked over to her. I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her, hoping to make her stop.
"HAHAHAHA! Sorry Sica baby... Pfftthahaha! It's just.. Harhar... Too funny!" She clutched her stomach as she said that.
"The old man still has some funny in his bones. Alright, I'll leave you ladies now." The doctor got up from behind the desk but before leaving, he gave Yuri a small piece of paper.
"It's just accumulated stress on the hand. Nothing's broken. Apply twice daily for one week. Massage the hand often and stretch it to relieve the tight muscles. Take good care of your best friend here," he said to Yuri and gave her a wink before walking out the door.
"Yah! Stop laughing at me," I whined to Yuri after the doctor left us. I wiped the tears from her eyes and she slowly began to calm down.
Yuri took both my hands into hers. Still smiling, she comforted me by saying, "Araso, I'll take good care of you until you fully recover, best friend."
"Promise?"
"I promise. I'll be your right hand until you're fully recovered. C'mon, all that laughing has made me hungry." She took my hand and led me out of the office. But I couldn't let her have the last laugh so I punched her lightly in the arm.
Just then, I remembered that I didn't have any money to pay for the prescription. I stopped walking before we reached the prescription counter, tugging Yuri by the hand to stop too.
I looked at the floor, embarrassed, before quietly saying, "Yul, I didn't bring any money with me..."
Laughing again, Yuri moved her hand from mine and onto my waist. As she was pushing me to walk, she replied, "Sica, baby, what would you do without me?"
