It was a cold night in December.

The silver moon was high in the sky giving off the only but brightest light in midnight. The place was silvered and transformed by the light of the moon, which, at the full, hung like a great luminous pearl on the radiant breast of heaven.

Ena wondered why she liked to watch the moon like this. She felt as if she and the moon was so alike. They were both lonely in some aspects.

Another reason was that she liked the silence in these nights...

Such calm

Such quiet

Such a peaceful

She could have peacefully watched this astonishing scenery...

... if that kid had not sneaked into her room.

"Sister Enaaaa~" Shu called her name while playing with the maiden's hair, " Your hair is so beautiful. I always feel it glow from within rather than relying on any light!"

"Yeah yeah, now can you let my hair go?" 

"Hi hi hi~"

'What kind of shit you are laughing at?' Ena deadpanned, thinking.

"Oh right, I forgot this, sister Ena."

"Huh?"

"Mother Beatrix is pregnant!" He said with a cheerful tone,  "Then I will soon become an older brother, right?~"

Ena "..." 

Another kid?

Lord, are you kidding me? Isn't Shu enough??? 

You can make babies but the one taking care of them is me!!

Please be considerate!

She let out a tiring sigh. Thinking in another way, she felt sympathy for Mistress Cordelia. Despite being the daughter of the Demon Lord and the first wife of Karlheinz, she became the Second Mistress of the Sakamaki. Meanwhile, Beatrix, who gave birth to his eldest child, became the First Mistress.

Cutting her train of thoughts, Shu swooped into Ena.

"Sister Ena, even when my brother is born, promise me that you won't forget me."

"... I don't think I would forget you." She said calmly, patting his head, 'I mean, how I can forget a child who likes bringing me into trouble?'

Let Ena pray that the second child won't be like his brother...

... She would be satisfied with only that.

Tik tok, tik tok

The clock was ticking. Apart from the ticking sound, everything was in absolute silence.

Outside Beatrix's room, Shu was sitting next to Ena. It's not typical of him to say nothing in these moments.

He's grown up?

Nope. It was because sitting opposite them ( Ena and Shu) was Karlheinz, the current Vampire King, leader of all the vampires.

Newborn cries filled the room. That moment, Karlheinz stood up and walked into the room. Shu had the intention of going either but Ena grabbed his arm, preventing him from doing so.

"Sist- Aunt Ena, I want-"

"No," She shrugged her shoulders, "Wait here, or do you want your father to murder you?"

He startled. Looks like her threat worked... 

'Shu, please don't think me as evil. I guessed Mistress Beatrix would neglect her second son. After all, she had you to become the heir. Not going to see her now might be the best option.'

Not making the two wait for too long, the door once again was opened. Karlheinz stepped out, holding a newborn wrapped in a cotton towel.

"Ena..." He called her, then carried the baby to the maiden. 

Her first instinct was to hold him in his stead. Her eyes met his red eyes. And that moment, the baby's cry's heard smaller. His hair was primarily purple-black with a lighter gradient. He did not take after his father nor his mother. However...

"The boy looks virtually identical to you, my Lord."

Karlheinz "..."

Shu "..." 

Such silence...

The Vampire King's mouth curved up a little bit, showing that he's satisfied with her statement.

So, up until then, the Sakamaki welcomed a new member. To Shu, now he had become a big brother.

And to Ena? This newborn was like the other kids that had been born through centuries in the Sakamaki, a new young master who she had to serve and protect.

Karlheinz then came to her, whispering into her ears, "I leave the duty to name my son to you, Ena."

Without hesitation, she answered, "Yes, my Lord."
