Chapter 7

-Ehi, Haneul!-

Haneul jumped, letting go the book she was reading and Soobin couldn't help but giggled.

-You should have seen your face.- he said, going near her.

The girl grumbled while picking up her book, displeased.

-You, stupid! You scared the shit out of me!- shw protested, putting her hands on her waist.

-I have only greeted you! You're too dramatic!-

-I'm not! You have almost made me have an heart attack!-

-Oh my gosh, Hanni, what's the problem?! I only said "Ehi, Haneul!", and you were about to die right here!

-What's this, does anybody ever says "Ehi, Haneul!"?-

-No, never.

-And then who's hanni?- Haneul asked, giving up and putting her book in her backpack.

-You are Hanni, silly!- Soobin puffed.

-Ah.

-What a nice nckname.- Hanel sad, and she seemed a little disconcerned.

-Yeah, I know right. Like I am.-

-You're really modest, today.

-Is it Beomgyu's influence?-

-No, I was born like this.- Soobin said.

-Can I sit here?- he asked then, pointing at the low wall were the girl were sitting.

-What a stupid question is it, Soobunny?

-Is there by chance written "Jung haneul's low wall" somewhere?

-No, you know, i ask you, because I can't se it.- Haneul snorted, grmiacing while smiling.

-Haneul?-

-Yeah?-

-Imma throw you somewhere.-

Soobin got there just because, he didn't even know why, he missed Haneul. After they had met at that bar that evening about two weeks ago, they had talked two other times, and just for a few minutes, and about nothing particular.

But, some minutes before, while eating his lunch, he suddenly missed her.

He felt like talking with her.

For no particular reason.

He just did.

So he had finished his food and then he had gone to look for her.

As he guessed, she was in the more empty place of the school, on that low wall in the back garden, reading on of those books that she always took around with her.

He hadn't liked the expression on her face.

It was... empty. Emotionless. Thoughtful. Even sad, he could say. Too many things, too conflicting.

That face seemed a stormy sky.

And when he had called her, for a moment, all those things disappeared and the girl had seemed like if she were comin' from another dimension.

Why was she always so alone?

Why didn't she ever talk to anyone?

Why didn't everyone talk to her?

He could cleary see that she was hiding something. He guessed that eveybody could, 'cause it was clear.

But why didn't anyone ever try to hel her?

'Cause he was sre that haneul needed some help.

She seemed... yeah, she seemed that kind of girl who always tries to help other people but never lets other people to help her and even never helps herself.

Yeonju told him that he seemed always afraid.

And he knew that he was right.

But what about Haneul?

Soobin was almost sure to say that, once upon a time, she had been afraid too. But she wasn't anymore.

It seemed like she had been afraid too much, too long, and now she was done even with tat.

She was trying to be empty, he could say.

But, since she wasn't, since she still had a lot of emotions, a lot of thoughts, she was just hurting herself.

She was a careful person. He nticed that she noticed that, even if he always seemed being okay, he wasn't.

He noticed that she was trying to help him.

But she needed help too.

And since no one semed intentioned to hep her, he decided that he would be the one to.

-Soobin?-

-Mh?-

-You're getting me nervous.

-Can you sit down, please?- Hanel asked, pointing at the wall near her.

Soobin realized that he stood too silent and too long thinking.

-Oh, yeah, sorry.- he said, sitting near the girl.

-Anyway, are you busy this afternoon?- he asked then.

-I don't think so.

-Why?-

-Beogyu, Taehyun, Kai and I are going to hang out a bit. Would you like to come with us?- the boy asked, praying that Haneul would have said yes.

Beomgyu and his friends were nice, and maybe she could have fun with them. Distract a little. Smile a bit. Feel better.

-Yeah, i would.- hanel nodded.

Soobin smiled.

-Good. Se you later out of the school.-

-We're in the same class, stupid.-

-Oh... Yeah, you're right. Silly me.-

As he had hoped, thay had fun, and when, in the end, they got home, the girl was smiling like he had never seen her in over a month sine thay met.

While walking home he was insted a little anxious, 'cause the sky was cloudy and he had heard it rumbling at least three times.

He wasn't really worried, since he knew that, even if it was about to rain, he would have arrived home before it it would start.

In fact he did.

But the door was shut. Locked.

The lights weere turned off.

And no matter how many times he could ring the ring and knock at the door, nobody was opening the door for him.

In the end he gave up, deciding that nobody was home and he called Yeonjun's mum to ask her where thay were and where the key was.

Yeonjun's parents were at a meeting, and yeonjun was out with some friends of him, but would have been back in a few minutes to open the door for him, since he had took away the last key.

"Nice." Soobin thought grimacing while puting down the call.

Usually, he wouldn't have minded, but it was going to rain and he didn't want to be out under the wather.

He hoped that Yeonjun would have been fast.

Then it started to rain.

First a raindrop.

Then another.

And another one.

And then the storm came.

Soobin lost his mind, didn't know what to do. He wanted to run away, but he knew that the rain was everywhere. He wanted to hide, but he didn't know where to.

Whene, a few minutes later, Yeonjun arrived, Soobin was crying cuddled up on himself, while the rain was soaking him.

He felt pathetic, but he couldn't help.

It was stronger than him.

-Soobin?! Soobin, are you okay?! What happened?!-

Hearing Yeonjun's voice and feeling his hands on him, trying to move him, he felt a little, but only a little, better.

As if he weren't goingo to die from then before three minutes as he had thought when he was still alone.

-Soobin, what happened?- Yeonjun asked again, trying to move him, evidently worried.

-Yeonjun...- the boy cried.

-Please... Take me in....

-I can't... I can't stand the rain anymore.-

When the door shut behind them, Soobin couldn't help but, even feeling really dumb, leaned against Yeonjun's chest and cried hugging him.

-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...-

-And for what?- Yeonjun asked, softly rubbing his back.

-I'm sorry...- Soobin repeated.

-Shhhtt.

-Don't worry. You don't nee to apologise. You did nothing wrong.- Yeonjun whispered caressing his hair.

-But...-

-Shttt. You're in now. I'm here with you. It's okay, mh?- the older boy said, still in a low voice and still caressing the other one. -It will be okay.-

I don't like this chapter but okay.
