Chapter 23

It was the second day of the first suspended week. There was nothing to do in the morning, so Kiyo decided to go back to the store.

He was wearing the store's uniform, a yellow blazer, long green pants, an apron, and the place's authentic visor.

Since he didn't have a bicycle, he walked out there by himself. It only took five minutes.

In his world nowadays, the height of adults and middle and high school students were almost the same, so no one would notice him.

"Here's yours. 150 CVD." - Kiyo scanned, then gave both the recipe and products to a lady waiting at the checkout.

"Thank you" - The lady accepted and quietly left.

Although it is not rush hour, it is still quite crowded, mostly housewives and a few old people. He stood there cashing the bills, hardly sat down at all (although there were chairs), and sometimes he went out and rearranged stuffs in the store.

It was almost noon. The clock shows 10 hours 59 minutes, almost time for school to end now, five minutes to go.

Guests began to decrease.

Kiyo was reaching for the refrigerator shelf, rearranging the confusing packages of food.

Suddenly something fell. A package of sausages. Kiyo bent down to pick it up, but someone reached out and touched it lightly.

It was a familiar hand. Kiyo looked up startled and immediately saw a familiar face.

"You-"

"Are you going to work overtime, Kiyo?" - Sunny asked curiously, returning the package to the cashier in front of him.

"Yeah... rent, school fees. What do you buy?" - Kiyo still kept his eyes on the items, continuing to arrange.

"I buy vegetables." - Sunny looked towards the vegetable drawer.

"Okay, what kind?" - When it was done, Kiyo walked over to that place.

"Cabbage..." - Sunny lifted the bunch of them.

"That's all? I'll cash it."

The other said yeah and Kiyo went back to the counter. Holding back the bundle of cabbage wrapped in the package, he took the shot.

"30 CVD."

Sunny struggled to take out his wallet, handing him 50 CVD. Kiyo found it redundant, so he took 20 from the drawer and gave it to his distinguished guest.

"Extra 20." - Finally, he returned the bunch of vegetables to Sunny.

Sunny took it, and put it in a canvas bag. At the same time, he secretly gave the notebook to Kiyo.

"I brought this notebook, copy it soon. See you later~" - Sunny turned and walked out of the store.

What was that tone..?

Fortunately, Kiyo got the afternoon off. So at noon he left a note on the table and left.

Well, I still have to worry about food and water. But the rice cooker here is freaking slow, takes nearly fifteen minutes.

When Kiyo had nothing to do, he opened his notebook and copied it, sucking in a cinnamon stick.

These are all things I already know, but I just keep doing them.

The rice had been done and the pot started to beep pi pi. Kiyo walked over to the pot, unplugged it, and opened the lid.

What to eat with rice now?

He opened the refrigerator and found a package of vegetables. Well, let's make fried rice.

Kiyo turns on the gas stove, and when he gets up to it, it becomes a masterpiece, because all the processing steps are like a real chef, even though Kiyo doesn't admit it.

When he was done, he took the bowl and ate in the living room. While eating, he was thinking about something.

It's mostly Sunny and the secret plan he's going to carry out tomorrow.

But for some reason, Kiyo kept paying attention to Sunny. He knew he didn't want his friend to be killed or otherwise, but one day while Sunny wasn't paying attention, he stared at him for a long time, and when the boy was looking, he turned away. How incomprehensible.

Kiyo sighed, chewing the rice. Living alone is boring, so much work to do.

But at least everything is still in order.

That evening, Kiyo walked into the alley where he and his co-workers usually sat. No one is there, everyone has gone to training.

There's also no list. Kiyo sat down, thinking about something.

The boss will definitely come here tomorrow.. Hmm, if I kill him, this camp will bring other people up and they will come at me..

I estimate that I can hide for a year, if it's just in this small town..

Let's see..

Kiyo looked outside, calculating how long it took him from the alley to get there.

From out there to here about 5 meters..
