95. Shiro- I Can't See You

Not being able to see the stars is a shame. I can only feel the cold wind against my skin, and hear the noises of chattering coming from inside the common room. My other senses were elevated, my sense of smell, touch, taste, and hearing were all maxed out, so even the slightest rustle would make me jump, or if someone whispered into my ear, it would sound like a thunderstorm crashing onto the drums inside. I would even gag from the smell of blood, and swear I could hear the ants dancing underground, little mathematical rhythms within their hollows, almost planned out.
Someone came behind me, and slowly sat, not wanting to make much noise.
"Shiro, I didn't know you wanted to come. Why don't you hang out with the others?" I heard him hum lightly, whistling a bit.
"You knew it was me?" he chuckled, scooting towards me. I laughed in response and clasped my hands together.
"I know everyone's footwork patterns, of course it was you. It couldn't be Keith, though you two walk somewhat the same, but your footsteps are lighter and less rushed than his. I guess it's from being around me." I bit my lip and tilted my head up, hearing the wind whistling and the night sky in all its dark silence.
"Is it a beautiful night out? I can hear the stars singing." Shiro shifted closer, fingers intertwined with mine.
"As gorgeous as you, babe." I laughed and pushed him, feeling warmness come across my cheeks, as if I were in a sauna. Moving closer, I leaned my frame against his larger one, him big spooning.
"Sometimes I wonder if I could ever see your face," I pondered, placing my hand on his cheek, my ring finger touching the scar on his nosebridge. I felt his eyebrows wiggle as I caressed it gently.
"Does it tickle?" My milky white eyes shifted to the sound of the noise, ears perking up. I lifted my hand from the center of his face and moved down, tracing the outline of his neck and jaw.
"You have a really sharp jawline. Like it could cut glass," I commented, smiling playfully. Shiro chuckled and kissed my forehead. I could feel the grin on his face as he did so, teeth just grazing the soft skin just below my hairline. He pulled me closer, my back touching his warm chest doing so. Euphoria spread throughout me like a shockwave, my face melting into a soft smile because of the love I was receiving. Honestly, I loved Shiro's attention, when he would wind down and spent time with me.
There wasn't much I could do for team Voltron, besides emotional and physical support, manning the cannons and standing guard in case I had sensed someone approaching. I lost my sight when I was younger, and navigated the world without eyes. Maybe it was a curse, in some twisted way. I'd never be able to see my friends, and didn't truly know what they looked like. Not that I even cared.
"Shiro?" I asked, tilting my head up and feeling his cheeks. The male above me smiled, eyes crinkling with it.
"Yes, love?"
"I want to see you," I bluntly stated, gently scratching the skin on his soft cheeks. "I want to be able to finally see your face." I felt as the smile faded, another type replacing it. Pity.
"I'm sure you finally will one day. When we die together, we'll go up into the universe and finally be able to see each other in our full glories, my dearest." I sighed and slumped, biting my bottom lip in frustration, hands detaching from Shiro's glorious, well proportioned face.
"How did I end up with someone like you?" Shiro laughed and held my hands in his bigger ones.
"Because I love you, and all that you're worth, (Y/N). Now let's just enjoy the moment together."
