ever since he arrived at this party, his mind has been on one person and one person only.

"do you think he's here?"

Beomgyu asked his friends as they all made their way to the bar and got more drinks.

"who? oh, your boyfriend?"

Beomgyu wasn't looking at Heeseung, but he knew his friend had a huge smirk on his face.

"Taehyun's not my boyfriend!"

but oh how he wished he was.

"seriously though dude, everyone can see how much the two of you like each other"

"yeah, Gyu! why don't you make the first move?"

Beomgyu looked down at his drink and swirled it around in the cup a few times before looking back up.

"are you sure he likes me back?"

Jeongin rolled his eyes at Beomgyu's dumb question and shook his friends shoulders.

"Beomgyu, you and Taehyun have been flirting back and forth for months now. i don't think he would've tolerated you for this long if he didn't like you"

Beomgyu pouted at the word 'tolerated'.

"what if he doesn't though?"

"he does! just go!"

Heeseung pushed Beomgyu into the crowd with a laugh and just as he did so, Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA began playing, making everyone at the party cheer.

Beomgyu wanted to laugh at the song choice as he slowly walked through the crowds of singing people in search for the boy he had been crushing on for over a year.

right when he spots Taehyun, he notices that the younger boy was already looking in his direction. Beomgyu let's out a nervous sigh before walking over to the boy.

"hey.."

"hey"

awkward.

as Taehyun was about to say something else, he was cut off by the sudden loud singing of almost everyone in the room.

"there's not a soul out there! no one to hear my prayer..!!"

"do you wanna-"
"i was gonna ask if you-"

the two boys spoke at the same time.

"oh- sorry, you can speak first"

Beomgyu nervously stumbled on his words after the two of them speaking over each other. Taehyun just softly smiled at held out his hand.

"would you like to dance with me?"

"gimme gimme a man after midnight, won't somebody help me chase the shadows away!"

Beomgyu's feet were frozen in place yet he managed to respond with a quick nod, reaching his hand out and grabbing onto Taehyun's.

the younger boy let out a laugh at his reaction, and although he could barely hear it, Beomgyu knew the laugh sounded beautiful.

the pair made it to the dance floor right when the ABBA song came to an end and ILYSB by Kim Woo Sung began playing.

Beomgyu soon realised it was now, or never. he needed to tell Taehyun how he felt tonight because he knew he wouldn't have the courage to do it any other time.

most people left the middle of the dance floor and it was soon filled up again by couples. and once again, Beomgyu wanted to laugh at the song choice. it was as if the DJ was planning this moment all along.

Taehyun wrapped his arms around Beomgyu's waist and the older took this as a sign to wrap his arms around Taehyun's neck.

"it's funny, my friends kinda just.. left me alone. and then all of a sudden you show up"

Beomgyu's eyes softened at Taehyun's laugh, since he was now able to hear how relaxing it is.

"i guess that makes me your knight in shining armour"

Taehyun's eyes crinkled up into a smile and he tilted his head.

"more like knight in.. jeans and a leather jacket, which look great by the way"

Beomgyu's breath was caught in his throat as he practically just watched Taehyun check him out.. right in front of him. but he had to stay calm.

"of course i look good, i'm Choi Beomgyu"

what the two didn't notice, was that their bodies were moving closer together as they spoke. they began swaying to the song in silence, mainly because they were too lost in each other's eyes.

"Taehyun.."

"hm?"

the younger boy spoke in a soft tone and stared up into Beomgyu's eyes.

"i'm gonna tell you something, right now, because i know if i don't tell you now then i probably never will and then we'd leave high school and go to different uni's and never see each other again-"

"woah, slow down, Gyu"

Gyu. his friends called him that all the time yet.. it sounded so much better coming from Taehyun's mouth.

"i like you, so much Tae. if you don't like me back that's fine i can just leave-"

Beomgyu's second rant was cut off by Taehyun grabbing the collar of his shirt and softly pressing their lips together. Beomgyu was so in shock at what happened, that he forgot to kiss back.

to save himself from embarrassment, Beomgyu tightened his grip around Taehyun's neck and pulled the younger back in for another kiss.

the song in the background came to an end just as the second kiss also came to an end.

"you're stupid, Choi Beomgyu"

at those words, Beomgyu thought he was going to be rejected, but there was a smile on Taehyun's face.

"if i didn't like you, would i flirt with you?"

"we'll maybe you-"

"if i didn't like you, do you think i would've kissed you.. in front of many people"

"what if-"

"oh my God! i do like you Gyu! i like you a lot! now please stop being an idiot and kiss me again!"

Beomgyu didn't have to be told twice. he pulled the younger into their third kiss of the night and the two of them were just smiling into it, making it a bit uncomfortable but they loved it.

it was just the two of them and no one could break them apart.
