Chapter 10

────═━┈━═────

The area radiated an eerie and unwelcoming atmosphere, with twisted, thorn-covered vines snaking through the dark, alien trees. Glowing orbs hung like phantom lanterns amid the foliage, casting flickering light over the muted hues of purples, greens, and sickly yellows. The oppressive stillness amplified the sense of decay and abandonment, leaving an air of mystery and unease in every corner.

Sparse shafts of light pierced through the dense canopy, creating sharp contrasts between light and shadow that only heightened the foreboding mood. The terrain appeared as though untouched for decades, reinforcing its reputation as a desolate and lifeless wasteland. Y/n glanced around nervously. The alien forest felt more ominous than any planet they had visited before, her steps tentative, though Gopal's reaction beside her was far more dramatic.

"Eek! This place is so creepy, BoBoiBoy!" Gopal exclaimed, clutching at his bag as his eyes darted around nervously.

BoBoiBoy sighed, his patience wearing thin. "Relax, Gopal. You're just making it worse."

Y/n managed a weak smile at their banter, but the tension lingered as BoBoiBoy turned to the 'leader'. "How much further do we have to go?" he asked. Fang checked the navigation on his watch, his expression cool. "I think it's just beyond this forest-"

Suddenly, a loud rustling sound broke the uneasy silence, echoing from somewhere behind them. The entire group froze, turning toward the source of the noise, their senses on high alert.

As they turned around, the group saw nothing out of the ordinary. BoBoiBoy, brushing off the moment with a wave of his hand, said, "It's probaly nothing... Come on, let's just finish this mission." motioning for the team to continue forward.

While the others began moving, Y/n remained in place, her gut telling her something wasn't right. Her gaze lingered on a particular tree that now stood eerily before them. "That wasn't there before... was it?"  The thought gnawed at her as she cautiously approached the strange tree, her heartbeat quickening with every step.

Just as her fingers brushed against the bark to inspect it further, BoBoiBoy's voice snapped her out of her trance. "Y/n, is everything okay?" he called, his tone holding both concern and curiosity.

Y/n hesitated, casting one last wary look at the tree before turning toward him. "No, nothing," she replied, shaking off the unease. "Let's keep going," she added with a forced smile as she rejoined the group. Yet, the feeling of something being off refused to leave her.

Y/n adjusted the bag of laundry in her arms, feeling its weight drag against her. A sigh escaped her lips as she thought to herself, This thing's heavier than I thought. Her (h/c) hair clung to her forehead as she trudged forward. Back on Earth, she'd avoided exercise as much as possible. But now, as a TAPOPS member, she knew she had to push herself—to build her strength and endurance.

Noticing her struggle, BoBoiBoy, walking by her side, offered with a friendly smile, "Do you want me to carry your bag?"

Y/n immediately shook her head, a determined glint in her (e/c) eyes. "Oh, no thanks! I can manage it," she replied. She didn't want to become someone who constantly relied on her teammates. This was her mission, too.

But before she could fully assert her resolve, Gopal materialized beside her, seemingly out of nowhere. "You know, you really should let him carry it," he teased, his cheeky grin unwavering.

"No thanks, really," Y/n replied, hugging the bag closer as if to shield it from any more offers. "I can take care of it."

Before anyone could say another word, a loud noise erupted from somewhere deep within the forest. The unexpected sound echoed ominously through the dense foliage, causing the entire group to freeze mid-step.

"What was that?!" Gopal shrieked, diving behind Y/n with a comical expression of fear etched across his face. Clutching at her arm for safety, he turned a panicked gaze to BoBoiBoy."What was that sound, Boboiboy?!"

Fang, trying to maintain his cool demeanor, glanced back at Gopal's terrified expression with a smirk. "Sheesh! Nothing to be scared of. It's probably just the wind," he said confidently, puffing out his chest. But before he could fully bask in his bravery, the barrier girl raised a trembling finger and pointed behind him. "Uhhh... F-Fang... Behind you..." she stammered.

Slowly turning around, Fang came face to face with a tree that had come to life. Its bark twisted into a furious face, and it let out an unearthly roar, shaking the forest. The team jumped back in alarm, clutching their bags of laundry even tighter.

In a blur, Fang sprinted past the group without a second thought, screaming at the top of his lungs, "It's a tree demon! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

"Oi, Fang! Wait for us!" BoBoiBoy shouted as the rest of the team bolted after him. Catching up to the so-called "brave leader," BoBoiBoy rolled his eyes and yelled sarcastically, "'Nothing to be scared of,' huh?! Where's all that bravado now?!"

Fang didn't even slow down to respond, too focused on getting as far away from the furious tree as possible. The monecular transform user turn his head as he see the tree tried to chasing the group "How come a tree's chasing after us?!"

The shadow manipulator led the team to hide behind a tree, finally allowing them to catch their breath. Gopal hugged his bag tightly, his heart still pounding. But before he could relax, he felt a poke on his back.

His face paled as he cautiously turned to see what it was. His gaze met another monster tree, looming menacingly behind him. Gopal's eyes widened in terror, and he fought to suppress a scream when the monster motioned for him to stay quiet.

Desperately, he shook BoBoiBoy's shoulder to get his attention, but BoBoiBoy brushed him off, annoyed. With no other option, Gopal grabbed Y/n's shoulder and frantically shook her. Y/n groggily turned to face him, her confusion evident. "Gopal? What's going o—" her voice caught in her throat as she looked up, meeting the monstrous glare of the tree.

"Guys... turn around if you want to see something horrifying," she whispered, barely holding it together. BoBoiBoy and Fang turned, their faces immediately mirroring her horror.

The monster roared loudly, silencing any cries for help. In a swift movement, it grabbed Gopal, lifting him into the air, and opened its enormous mouth.

"GOPAL!" the team screamed in unison, scrambling to come up with a plan.

"Help! HELP ME!" Gopal's desperate screams echoed through the forest, drawing the attention of the previous monster tree. Its loud rustling and thunderous steps made the team's hearts race. Fang immediately dropped his laundry bag, his shadow energy radiating as he prepared to fight.

"BoBoiBoy! Y/n! We've got to fight back!" Fang commanded, stepping forward.

BoBoiBoy raised his hand with determination. "BoBoiBoy Triple Split!" In a flash, he split into three versions of himself: Lightning, Earth, and Leaf. Each stood ready, with glowing elemental energy surrounding them.

Without hesitation, Y/n shoved her laundry bag into Earth's hands. "Here, hold this! I need to free Gopal!" She turned and sprinted toward Leaf.

"Leaf!" she called out, her voice steady despite the tense situation. "I need you to create vines to grab Gopal!"

Leaf nodded firmly, his green eyes blazing with energy. "Got it! Binding Vines!" Thick, glowing vines erupted from the ground, reaching toward the monster tree that held Gopal. The vines wrapped tightly around him, creating a lifeline between the team and their captured friend.

Together, Y/n and Leaf grabbed the vines, planting their feet firmly. They strained as they began to pull. Gopal, still flailing and screaming in the monster mouth. The both grunted as they tried to pull Gopal out but the monster pull as wel, they look like they playing tug of war.

Y/n gritted her teeth as she grabbed the vines tighter, bending lower to steady her stance. "Let him go...!" she groaned with all her strength. With combined effort, she and Leaf managed to pull Gopal free from the monster tree's clutches. However, their power sent Gopal soaring into the air before landing painfully several feet away.

Y/n fell back onto the ground from the force, her back hitting the dirt. Before she could react further, Leaf leaned over and grabbed her by the back of her jacket, steadying her. "Sorry about that!" Leaf turned his head, calling out to Gopal in the distance. "Went a little overboard there!"

The monster saw its opportunity. It raised a massive foot, ready to stomp on the two heroes. Y/n gasped, panic flashing across her face as she instinctively raised her hand to summon her shield. Before the barrier could form, Leaf grabbed her by the waist with a grin and shot a vine upward. "Haha! Not so fast! Can't catch me!" he teased as they swung through the air.

"Leaf!" Y/n cried out, barely holding on as they zipped around. "Boboiboy! In front of yo—" Before she could finish, they collided headfirst into another part of the monster tree.

The crash caused chaos as the shadow creature, summoned by Fang, faltered. It hesitated in confusion, giving the monster tree a chance to defeat it. The tree threw Leaf and Y/n harshly to the ground, shaking off the attack. Towering over them, it moved in to grab the pair.

Fang reacted quickly, summoning, "Shadow Koalas!" The shadowy creatures scurried up the monster tree, scratching at its face to disorient it. Temporarily blinded, the monster tree retaliated by stomping the ground with immense force. Y/n braced herself, raising her arms and shouting, "Barrier Shield!" Her energy shield absorbed the powerful impact, though she groaned under the strain.

Fang saw her struggling and used his shadow whips to grab both Leaf and Y/n, pulling them away from harm. Earth, using the distraction, suddenly appeared and slammed his fist into the ground. "Earth Grasp!" he shouted, summoning pillars of earth to ensnare the monster. Lightning leaped into the air, hurling his blade infused with electricity, sending shocks through the entangled tree. Finally, the monsters fainted, collapsing into a lifeless heap.

The team regrouped, with Boboiboy reforming back into one being. He grinned widely, raising a victorious thumbs-up. "Yes! We won! Awesome!"

Dusting off her pants as she stood, Y/n sighed as Fang scolded. "Awesome? Are you seriously forgetting about what you and Y/n just did to Gopal?"

Realizing their blunder, Boboiboy's eyes widened. "Oh, right! Gopal!" The trio hastily grabbed their laundry bags and bolted toward the spot where their bald friend had landed, yelling his name in unison.

~●○°●○°●○~

When the team reached the spot where Gopal had landed, they were surprised to find two unexpected faces. Adudu, the green square-headed alien resembling their Commander, and his loyal purple robot companion, Probe. Y/n's jaw dropped at the sight. "Adudu? Probe? What are you two doing here?" Boboiboy asked, bewildered.

Adudu, panting heavily like he had just run a marathon, struggled to catch his breath. "We... we came... to..." He paused dramatically, pointing at them with an accusing finger. "...make sure you FAIL your mission!" But his bravado quickly deflated as he flopped onto the ground. "Gosh, I'm beat."

Probe, equally exhausted, plopped down beside him. "Let us catch a break first. We'll continue sabotaging after this," he said, leaving the team exchanging baffled looks.

10 minutes later

Adudu suddenly jumped to his feet, re-energized. "Prepare yourself, Boboiboy!" he declared, aiming a laser gun at the team. The heroes, who had been resting as well, were taken aback.

"Seriously? Not even a 'thank you' for letting you rest?" Boboiboy said with a frown, standing up. "Yeah! We were nice enough to let you two take a break!" Gopal chimed in, crossing his arms.

Adudu scoffed, his ego restored. "Hah! Who cares?! I'm still going to sabotage your mission!" His words caused the team to pause.

Y/n snapped to attention, her sharp mind recalling the strange noises she'd heard in the station. Could those noises have been Adudu and Probe tracking them? She narrowed her eyes, piecing things together. Their mission seemed too mundane—a simple delivery of laundry—but there was clearly more to it than met the eye. Still, one question loomed: why would Adudu care about laundry?

Her train of thought was interrupted when Adudu stepped forward dramatically, holding up a peculiar weapon. "Behold! My super high-tech weapon!" he proclaimed with exaggerated pride, presenting an odd-looking gun. "Take this!" he shouted, pressing a button as the gun discharged a sticky, gooey stream of mud directly at Fang and Boboiboy.

Y/n managed to sidestep the mess. Confusion furrowed her brows as she watched the mud splatter harmlessly onto Fang and Boboiboy. It was dirty but entirely non-threatening. "Mud?" she asked aloud, her voice tinged with incredulity.

Meanwhile, Adudu's smug grin turned into a frustrated scowl. He inspected his weapon with irritation, slapping it a few times. "What's wrong with this stupid thing?!" he grumbled, utterly ignoring the ineffective results of his so-called "super high-tech" weapon.

Gopal chuckled smugly as he mocked Adudu. "Heh! Where'd you get that little toy gun? The back alleys?" His sarcasm only seemed to deepen Adudu's frustration. Y/n, watching quietly, noticed something unusual—Adudu kept glancing toward the laundry bags.

Y/n's intuition kicked in. Before Adudu could act, she sprinted toward the pile of bags, summoning a glowing barrier just in time. Mud splattered against the shield, causing Adudu to growl in annoyance.

Turning to her teammates, Y/n yelled, "Boboiboy! Fang! Protect those bags at all costs!" Her determined voice galvanized the others.

However, the chaos continued to escalate. Probe opened fire, unleashing a barrage of mudballs aimed at the group. Boboiboy and Fang scrambled to protect the bags but clumsily bumped into each other during their dodging efforts. The impact sent two laundry bags flying—landing perilously close to Probe, who let out a delighted mechanical laugh, and he started to aim.

Boboiboy quickly activated his watch, shouting, "Elemental Power! Boboiboy Earth!" With a powerful slam of his fists into the ground, he summoned an Earth Barrier, creating a solid shield to protect the bags. He turned to Fang and yelled, "Get those away from here, Fang!"

Fang nodded and launched into action, leaping into the air. "Shadow Falcon!" he cried, summoning a sleek, dark falcon to his side. Fang mounted the creature and soared into the sky. Meanwhile, the team below worked together, tossing the remaining bags up to Fang's falcon, which swiftly caught them and flew higher, out of reach.

"Transform, Probe!" Adudu commanded, pointing at the falcon's retreating figure.

"Okay! Mode: Mecha Probe!" The robot responded eagerly, transforming into a massive flying mech, immediately giving chase to Fang and his shadow falcon.

Meanwhile, Gopal confronted Adudu directly, frustration clear in his voice. "Hey, Adudu! What's your problem?! Why're you always messing with us?"

Boboiboy shifted back into his original form, frowning deeply. Beside him, Y/n crossed her arms, her glare sharp and unrelenting.

Adudu smirked confidently and scoffed. "Did you really think I wouldn't find out? That TAPOPS sent you on a covert mission to deliver a distress signal on their behalf?" His declaration left the group stunned, a mix of shock and confusion filling the tense silence.

Boboiboy frowned, his arms crossing as he processed Adudu's revelation. "A secret SOS code? On the laundry receipts?" He exchanged a glance with Y/n, who now seemed equally perplexed. "We didn't know about that!" he exclaimed.

Y/n widened her eyes, a memory clicking into place. "No wonder Commander told us not to let them get dirty!" She recalled the seemingly unnecessary warning but now understood its importance.

Adudu smirked, enjoying their realization. "Did you really think TAPOPS would assign you such a simple delivery task?" He stomped his foot in mock frustration. " I want you to know exactly what you'll be failing at so spectacularly. Experience the bitter taste of defeat."

Y/n glanced at Boboiboy with a sly smile. "Looks like he's been defeated by you too many times. Now he's obsessed with revenge," she quipped.

Gopal couldn't help but snicker. "Good one, Y/n."

Their humor was interrupted by a sharp gust of wind from above as Fang flew by, dodging Mecha Probe's attacks. His shadow falcon faltered under the relentless pursuit, but he held on tightly to the bags. "Be careful, Fang!" Boboiboy shouted. His voice echoed with urgency. "And don't let those bags get dirty!"

Gopal raised his hand, aiming carefully at Probe. With precision, he fired, hitting the robot squarely and causing it to crash onto Adudu. The collision sent both of them sprawling, marking a clear victory for the group.

After the battle, Probe hastily scooped up Adudu, and the two retreated into the distance. The group let out a collective sigh of relief before returning their focus to their mission. They gathered their belongings and resumed their journey to the drop-off point.

By the time they arrived at their destination, exhaustion had taken its toll. Everyone collapsed onto the ground, utterly spent. Y/N managed a tired stretch, her arms trembling slightly from the effort.

The group soon gathered in a loose circle as Fang activated his watch. A hologram of the Commander flickered to life above it.

"We've reached the drop-off point, Commander," Fang reported, his tone steady. "Excellent work," the Commander replied. "Did everything go according to plan?"

Y/N bit her lip, avoiding the hologram's gaze. Before she could respond, Gopal burst out, "As if, Commander! We just had to deal with Adudu and Probe out of nowhere!"

Y/N hesitated for a moment before raising her hand. "Um... Commander, is it true that the receipts are actually an SOS code?"

The question caught the Commander off guard, and he visibly tensed. Before he could respond, the elemental boy chimed in, his brow furrowed. "Adudu said our delivery mission was actually a request for help. Is that true?"

Commander Ciciko paused, his expression serious. After a moment, he nodded. "That's correct." Fang smirked, crossing his arms. "I told you guys before. We use the laundry receipts to communicate among TAPOPS members."

Boboiboy spun around, glaring at him. "You knew this the whole time? Why didn't you tell us earlier?!" Fang huffed, flicking his hair back. "I did tell you! Not my fault if none of you paid attention!"

Before the argument could escalate further, Y/N stepped between them with purpose, raising her hands to separate the two. "Okay, enough! No fighting in front of the Commander!" she declared, her tone a mix of firmness and exasperation.

Her presence alone made Fang and Boboiboy pause, though neither seemed ready to back down completely. Fang crossed his arms, glaring to the side, while Boboiboy huffed loudly, his fists clenched at his sides.

"Seriously," Y/N added, glancing between them, "we're on a mission, not a playground. Act your age, you two!" Fang rolled his eyes dramatically. "I am acting my age," he muttered, just loud enough for Boboiboy to hear.

"Oh, really?" Boboiboy shot back, stepping forward as if ready to argue again. "Then maybe start acting like part of a team instead of a know-it-all!"

Y/N groaned and immediately held her hands up higher, blocking Boboiboy with one arm while shooting Fang a warning look. "Don't even start! I mean it. We don't have time for this!"

The tension lingered for a moment before both boys finally let out exaggerated huffs, turning away from each other like sulking children.

Y/N let out a heavy sigh, lowering her arms as the tension in the air eased. "Honestly... it's like babysitting sometimes," she muttered under her breath. She glanced at the Commander's hologram and gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, Commander."

"Enough!" The Commander's authoritative voice cut through the tension, making the team snap to attention. "Your mission has been compromised. Therefore, you must deliver those laundry bundles to their intended target in person. Is that clear?"

"We have to deliver them in person?!" Boboiboy exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise.

Gopal let out a dramatic squeal, clutching his head as if the world was ending. "You mean we've got to stay even longer in this spooky place?!"

A shiver ran down his spine as he glanced around nervously, his imagination clearly running wild. "What if something jumps out at us?!" Then, as if on cue, Gopal threw his hands into the air and let out an exaggerated, despair-filled wail. "NOOOOOOO!"
