Chapter 12

────═━┈━═────

Y/n maintained a calm yet unreadable expression as she and her team dangled helplessly from Mega Probe's grasp. The mechanical arms held them firmly as the massive robot soared through the sky, carrying them toward an unknown destination.

For the most part, everyone had settled into reluctant silence, except for Gopal, who still squirmed in fear, convinced they were about to be sacrificed.

"Let us go, Adudu!" he wailed, thrashing against the restraints.

The green, square-headed alien snapped his head around with an irritated growl. "How many times must I say it?! I am NOT Adudu! I am Olulu!" Gopal jolted at the outburst, quickly nodding in panic. "R-Right! Okay, okay! Olulu!"

Fang sighed, casting a tired glance downward. "He's really lost it..." Boboiboy, meanwhile, shifted his gaze toward Y/n. "What do you think happened to them?" His brown eyes searched hers, hoping for an answer. Y/n, her expression thoughtful, flicked her (e/c) eyes toward Probe. She studied him for a moment before speaking.

"Hey, Probe... you're still you, right?" Her voice was quiet but firm.

The purple robot turned slightly, glancing at her with a surprisingly knowing look. "I'm surprised you noticed," Probe said, his tone unusually casual. "Yep, I'm still me. It's just Mr. Boss who's lost his mind."

"Huh?!" Boboiboy widned his eyes "So you're still yourself, Probe?" The robot sighed in defeat at the hero "Yeah, its why I tried to stop you. I was trying to explain. But you attacked me!"

Boboiboy ignored the robot's whining and narrowed his eyes. "What were you trying to say, then?"

Probe looked around cautiously and leaned in just slightly, voice lowered. "Mr. Boss has been hypnotized by a frog!"

There was a long beat of silence.

Y/n blinked slowly, clearly stunned. "Hypnotized by... a frog? Are you serious?"

"Dead serious!" Probe snapped, spinning to face her. "I saw it with my own sensors! A creepy frog with glowing eyes, it did something to him!"

Gopal, still dangling awkwardly, frowned. "Wait, then why aren't you hypnotized too?"

The robot huffed indignantly, placing a hand on his chest. "Hello? Robot! I don't have a brain to hypnotize!"

Y/n sweatdropped, barely holding back a sigh. Just as she was about to respond, a harsh voice cut through the air.

"What's with all the racket back there?!" Olulu barked, clearly irritated.

Probe jolted and snapped upright like a soldier caught slacking. "Ah! N-Nothing, Mr. Boss! Just... keeping the prisoners in line!"

He turned quickly to the team, whisper-hissing, "Quiet, all of you! Don't get me scrapped!"

Y/n rolled her eyes but stayed silent. She could tell now wasn't the time to push for answers, at least not yet.

Moments later, the flying mech carrying them hovered above a shadowy canyon. With little care, Probe dumped them out of the cargo hold. They hit the hard ground with grunts and groans, the impact jarring through their sore bodies.

Suddenly, Olulu raised his voice with a loud, commanding yell, his eyes wild with energy as he slammed his staff against the ground. The trees rustled above.

A massive shadow moved among the branches, leaping effortlessly from rock to rock before landing with a heavy thud in front of the group.

The creature revealed itself—a monstrous frog with purplish skin speckled with glowing green dots. Easily the size of a grown human, its bulging eyes and twitching limbs made it look anything but normal.

"Wh-What kind of frog is that?!" Gopal stammered, practically jumping out of his skin.

Olulu stepped forward, puffing out his chest and slamming his staff once more. "Behold! This is my master... Katalulu!"

The giant frog bounced forward, stopping just inches from Gopal, who was now visibly sweating bullets. "Wh-Why is it looking at me like that?!"

Y/n's eyes widened as she noticed the frog's pupils start to spiral, glowing faintly. "Gopal! Don't look into its eyes!"

But it was too late.

Gopal froze mid-sentence. His eyes glazed over.

"Olulu... olululu..." the frog croaked cryptically, its voice low and strange.

Y/n tilted her head slightly. "What kind of language is that?" she whispered to herself. Then again, she reminded herself—they were on another planet. Talking frogs weren't too out of place.

"We're on a laundry delivery mission," Gopal said in a robotic tone, completely under the frog's spell. Fang blinked, frowning. "Why is Gopal revealing our mission?"

Y/n sighed. "Because he's 100% hypnotised." Up above, Probe hovered nearby, feigning disinterest. Y/n glanced up and whispered sharply, "Psst—Probe!"

The robot looked down hesitantly. "Huh? What?"

"Help us untie these ropes!" Probe stiffened. "What?! No way! Mr. Boss will scrap me!"

Y/n narrowed her eyes. "Your boss is brainwashed by a mind-controlling frog. Do you want to help him or not?" Probe blinked. "Oh. Yeah, right." He zipped down and started quietly cutting the ropes with his robot arm.

The frog-like alien tilted its head, croaking out another question in its strange language. Gopal scratched his head and shrugged helplessly. "That's a mystery even to us," he said honestly. "But there has to be some kind of connection between the items and the people receiving them."

BoBoiBoy scoffed, arms crossed. "Wow. He finally uses his brain when he's hypnotized." Y/n nearly choked, stifling a giggle as she looked away, trying to keep a straight face.

Olulu's master continued interrogating them, but Gopal was clearly out of his depth. He glanced at the bundles of laundry with zero clues about who they belonged to or why they were important.

Meanwhile, Probe had quietly managed to untie the ropes binding the three of them. As they stood, light from above flooded their eyes, causing them to shield their faces. "Gopal! Are you okay? Say something!" BoBoiBoy called out, worry edging his voice.

The frog alien's eyes widened as it noticed their escape. It let out a sharp, guttural command. Olulu turned with a snarl, realizing the betrayal. "You! Prob-lulu!" he growled, pointing an accusing finger.

Probe trembled, sinking into a low bow. "Forgive me, Mr. Boss! I-I only wanted to protect you!"

"How dare you!" Olulu roared, dashing toward Probe. The poor robot flinched, too afraid to retaliate.

But before he could reach him, a sudden shimmer of blue light expanded between them. Y/n had stepped forward, summoning her barrier just in time to shield herself and Probe. The impact cracked through the silence like thunder, pushing Olulu back several steps.

Fang appeared beside her, his hand glowing as he conjured his Shadow Eagle. "We'll handle him. BoBoiBoy! Get Gopal!"

"Got it!" BoBoiBoy replied, already sprinting toward his friend.

But it was too late.

The frog-like alien turned toward Gopal, its eyes glowing ominously. Strange energy pulsed through the air. Gopal froze, then let out a strangled breath. His eyes glowed red. Dirt smeared across his face. Color darkened his skin. Fury twisted his expression.

BoBoiBoy halted mid-step, horror washing over him. "No... what did you do to him?!"

Gopal growled, the ground beneath his feet cracking as he took an aggressive stance. He had become the frog's puppet, its mindless protector.

BoBoiBoy clenched his fists. "I won't fight you, Gopal... but I will save you." In a blur, he split into three Earth, Leaf, and Wind, each of his elemental selves prepared to work in perfect sync.

Meanwhile, Fang and Y/n scanned for weaknesses in their foes. Their time was running out. The frog was controlling Gopal, Olulu was regaining strength, and they had no idea what the enemy truly wanted.

"Think fast," Fang muttered, eyes narrowed.

"We need to hit the source—" Y/n began.

But her words were cut off.

Olulu, recovering faster than expected, broke free from Shadow Eagle's grasp. In a blink, he raced toward her. Y/n barely had time to react before his body slammed into her shield at full force.

The impact didn't break the shield but it did throw her backward.

"Y/n!" Fang shouted.

She was launched several meters, tumbling through the air, straight toward the frog. The alien croaked in alarm but stood its ground. Y/n's body crashed into the ground near its feet, her shield flickering from the impact.

Her vision blurred. Her limbs trembled. As she hit the ground near the frog's feet, Y/n tried to raise her shield again but her strength faltered.

Then she made the mistake of looking up. The frog's glowing eyes met hers. Cold. Calculating. Intent.

She realized too late what was happening. A sharp pulse of energy rippled from the frog's pupils. Her eyes widened then dulled.

"Y/N!!" BoBoiBoy and Fang screamed in unison, their voices distant echoes.

But Y/n was no longer present in the waking world.

The frog entered easily. Too easily. It floated into her consciousness, expecting to find fear, confusion, or fragments of memory to control.

Instead, there was nothing. No images. No thoughts.

Only darkness.

A heavy, endless void. "Where is she?" the frog thought. Its movements slowed, its instincts screaming something was wrong.

Then— A voice. "Oh? We have an uninvited guest."

It turned sharply, trying to locate the source. There was no one. Then, suddenly, directly in front of it, a woman appeared.

She stood tall graceful and otherworldly. A grown woman in a flowing white dress, her long silver-white hair cascading like moonlight. Her piercing blue eyes shimmered, glowing softly in the void.

The frog froze. Its limbs refused to move. No chains bound it, yet an invisible pressure pressed down on it like gravity. Its own instincts whispered one thing: Don't move. The woman tilted her head. She smiled but not with kindness.

It was a smile of ancient knowing. Of quiet power. "So... this little girl has been hypnotized by you," she said, her voice calm but carrying the weight of thunder.

She stepped forward. Each footfall echoed like ripples through the void. "It's been quite some time since I've had a guest in this place. And I must say, I didn't expect one so... pitiful."

The frog tried to speak, but no sound came. It tried to retreat, but its legs wouldn't obey.

The woman crouched down to its level, her smile darkening. "Listen carefully," she whispered, her voice ice-cold. "Leave. And do not return. If you ever try to take this girl's mind again..." she paused, her finger glowing faintly with a deadly aura.

"...I will crush you."

With a gentle touch, she tapped her finger to the frog's forehead. That was all it took.

The frog screeched, stumbling backward from Y/n as if struck by something invisible. Its eyes flickered in panic.

Y/n's breath caught in her throat as the fog in her mind cleared. She blinked rapidly, her vision refocusing. "What... what just happened?" she whispered.

She didn't have time to think. Instinct kicked in. Her legs pushed off the ground and she jumped back, placing distance between herself and the frog.

BoBoiBoy and Fang rushed to her side, worry etched into their faces. BoBoiBoy positioned himself protectively next to her. "You alright?" he asked, eyes scanning her face for any sign of lingering control.

Y/n panted, trying to regain her composure. She gave a shaky nod. "Yeah... I'm fine. I think."

But the frog wasn't. It stumbled backward, clearly terrified. Its gaze darted around in a panic before it let out a shrill, guttural shriek. The ground trembled. Around them, boulders began rising—dozens of them, surrounding the group like summoned soldiers.

Fang's eyes widened. "They've come all the way here?!" BoBoiBoy clenched his fists, staring at the frog. "So they were all your minions this whole time?!"

Before anyone could react further, Y/n suddenly shouted, "Don't turn your head—!"

But it was too late. The frog had already seized the opportunity. Its eyes glowed ominously again, and BoBoiBoy and Fang's gazes started to glaze over. Hypnosis was kicking in.

Y/n took a step back, panic rising. "No!"

But just as the light in the boys' eyes began to dim, a voice boomed across the battlefield "STOP!"

A figure dropped between them and the frog in a swift, calculated motion.

He stood tall—his skin pale, marked with faint scars like tiger stripes. His wild blue hair danced in the breeze. He didn't flinch. Didn't move.

Just stood, unwavering.

BoBoiBoy and Fang blinked. Their minds cleared. The hypnosis... stopped. "Who is that...?" BoBoiBoy muttered, stunned.

Y/n narrowed her eyes in confusion. She and Fang started to call out—but the man turned his head slightly and raised a finger to his lips. "Shhh."

Then, without fear, he crouched in front of the frog.

The alien creature hissed, furious, and tried again to hypnotize the stranger. Its eyes blazed, but the man didn't even blink. He met the frog's stare with quiet defiance.

A silent war of wills.

Seconds ticked by.

The frog's expression twitched. Its confident smirk faded into confusion—then dread. Its body trembled. And then—

Its eyes rolled back. The frog slumped forward, hypnotized by its own power. The stranger stood up slowly, brushing imaginary dust from his shoulder. He smiled, satisfied. "Success."

A shimmer rippled through the air. Far behind them, Gopal and Adudu collapsed to their knees, released from control. They gasped for air, clearly shaken after being possessed for so long.

Around them, the boulders that had encircled the battlefield now began to wobble, their glowing eyes dimming. One by one, they stopped moving—and then scattered, hopping away harmlessly into the distance. BoBoiBoy watched them go, stunned. "So... they were all under its thrall."

Gopal blinked slowly, disoriented. "Huh...? What happened?" He glanced down and immediately shrieked. "EEEK! Why am I trapped in rocks?!"

The strange man crouched beside the unconscious frog. With practiced ease, he pulled a strip of cloth seemingly from nowhere and wrapped it securely over the creature's eyes.

"Katakulu," he said with a low, amused voice, "the hypno-frog I've been chasing for all this time." He looked up at the group, his piercing gaze calm yet authoritative. "I thank you for helping me catch this little fella."

BoBoiBoy gave a wary nod before glancing at Fang. "Uh... Fang? Who is this guy?"

Before Fang could answer, Adudu suddenly leapt to his feet, pointing dramatically. "That's Admiral Tarung!" he cried, eyes wide.

Everyone's heads snapped toward the man. "Admiral Tarung?!" BoBoiBoy and Fang echoed in disbelief.

The man smiled brilliantly. His perfectly white teeth sparkled like polished stardust. The group blinked in awe, temporarily stunned by the sheer charisma he radiated. Even Y/n found herself blinking twice, momentarily thrown off. "...Wait, who is Admiral Tarung?"

While the others were still recovering from his unexpected glamour, Adudu jumped into his hover-scooter with Probe and zipped away, muttering something about "never messing with military men again."

Gopal finally managed to wriggle free of the rocky trap, tumbling forward until he landed with a thud beside a bag of laundry. Tarung's sharp eyes followed the motion and landed on the bags.

"...What are those?" he asked, curious.

Gopal stood up, groaning as he rubbed his back. "Oww... That's, uh, our mission." BoBoiBoy flinched. "Hey! Gopal! Why'd you tell him that?!"

But Y/n stepped forward, brushing herself off. "Wait. Are you... from TAPOPS Space Station, Admiral Tarung?"

The man turned to her, smiling again. "I assume you are from TAPOPS as well, yes?"

The team exchanged glances, then nodded.

Tarung approached the bags and casually flipped one open. "Well then," he said, inspecting the contents, "thank you for delivering my laundry."

"HUH?!" the whole group exclaimed in unison. "You're the recipient?!" Gopal gawked.

Tarung nodded smoothly. "Of course. Who else would have asked for laundry to be delivered all the way to this isolated planet?"

Again, his teeth sparkled. The group fell into stunned silence... until BoBoiBoy frowned slightly. "How can we know for sure it really is him?"

Y/n, ever observant, pointed toward his chest. "Look. His badge."

Everyone turned to where she gestured and sure enough, there on Tarung's uniform was a shining badge: the official TAPOPS emblem. "That's proof," she said firmly. "Only official TAPOPS members have that badge... and the receipt we were given was coded."

Tarung chuckle "You've got a sharp eyes, little girl. And yes, she's right, only members of TAPOPS are able to decipher these receipts." He reached into his coat and pulled out the receipt they had brought. His expression shifted as he read it. "...A message from Koko Ci?"

His confident smile faded ever so slightly, replaced with a flash of concern.

"TAPOPS Space Station is in danger?!" Hearing this, Y/n and other runs to Admiral Tarung "Yeah! That's why we're here." Boboiboy speak up. Tarung frowned as he rip of the receipt "We're running out of time! Come! We move now!"

The team quickly got order as they noded, each of them grabbed the bag and running toward the ship.

The ship hummed quietly as it glided through space. The team sat in their seats, catching their breath after the chaos on Planet Dar'ghaya. Silence lingered—until BoBoiBoy, unable to hold back his curiosity, glanced over his shoulder.

"Admiral... can I ask something?"

Tarung, standing tall with arms crossed behind his back, turned with a calm smile. "Of course."

BoBoiBoy tilted his head. "Why did you send your laundry through TAPOPS of all things?"

The Admiral chuckled softly. "Since retiring, I've cut off nearly all communication with the outside world... except for encrypted transmissions with TAPOPS. They're my only reliable connection."

"Ohh, that makes sense," Gopal said with a slow nod. "Not to mention, I'm still in need of clean clothes." Y/n nodded at Tarung's speech, arms crossed as she leaned back in her seat. "Reasonable. Clean clothes are a survival essential."

But Fang, still focused on piloting the ship, stole a quick glance through the corner of his eye. "Then... what were you doing on Planet Dar'ghaya?"

Tarung raised an eyebrow and replied casually, "That's part of my hobby."

"Hobby?" Y/n echoed.

"Yes," Tarung said as he walked toward the group, lifting the now-sedated frog in his hand. "Tracking and researching rare and exotic creatures—like Katakulu here."

BoBoiBoy leaned forward, intrigued. "For what purpose, sir?"

"To protect them," the Admiral said, his tone now tinged with quiet conviction. "And to preserve them. Many of these species are misunderstood. Some are dangerous—but all are worth studying.
