"Do I look fine?" I asked, leaning over to smooth Levi's suit jacket and tighten his cravat.

"You look good, sit still for a minute," Levi nudged me away from him, reaching for my neck.

"Maybe," he smirked slightly, his hands resting on my shoulders, holding me for a second while he looked me over. "If anyone tries to say you look anything less than perfect they're a fucking liar."

"Ok! I think I'm ready," I let out a breath that I had been holding, relaxing my shoulders. "You look great Levi."

"Let me fix your necklace," Levi murmured, he reached for the gold necklace, moving the clasp to the back.

"Duke and Duchess Ackerman," one of Levi's knights, opened the door to the carriage before I could respond. "You called?"

"Yes, we're ready to leave, follow behind discreetly," Levi turned to look at me, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you look so flustered Y/N?"

"It's nothing!" I coughed loudly, kicking Levi's shin once the knight left to go alert the others.

Levi got off the carriage before me, stepping out into the street, before turning and offering me a hand to get down.

"You're being so nice today," I hummed, opening my fan to hide my mouth as the two of us walked. "Can you act like this normally?"

"You wish, idiot," Levi maintained a soft smile on his face despite the names he continued to call me.

"I really don't understand why you won't pretend to be a total creep to get the princess off your case-"

"Do you remember the plan?" Levi changed the conversation, linking his arm with mine.

"Of course I do."

I LOST SLEEP OVER IT

The two of us planned to skip going to the house in the capital and instead take a moment to walk around one of the large parks closer to the palace where many members of nobility had their own houses. 

it's a shame that it's this pretty out and i have to walk around doing this

"They're already watching us, keep it up," Levi murmured to me, leaning over to tuck a hair behind my ear.

The walk wasn't without purpose, our goal was to show off our loving relationship to nobility, displaying how unfazed we were by the rumors being spread by the first princess.

not exactly the easiest thing to do

"Yeah whatever," I rolled my eyes back at him, "I don't even care what you think about me <3 I know for a fact that I look stunning."

"Should we sit down and attract attention?" Levi asked, gesturing to a large gazebo in the center of the park.

"Of course."

I wore a long, green dress with spring flowers embroidered in gold along the neckline and bodice, my gold floral jewelry matched the delicate embroidery. Levi wore a black suit with gold details, his cravat and the handkerchief in his breast pocket were the same color green as my dress.

"Are you hot?" Levi continued to put on a show by fussing over me once we sat down.

WHY CAN'T IT BE LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME

"I'm fine," I leaned towards him, tucking a hair behind his ear. "How are you feeling?"

"It's quite alright," Levi paused, frowning performatively. "I'm worried that everything we packed may be a bit too warm, to think it's almost spring in the capital, there's still snow on the ground back home."

YEAH WHO DECIDED WE WERE GOING TO LIVE IN SUCH A FREEZING PLACE

"We'll have to travel more often," I agreed, leaning back to look at the first signs of spring emerging all over the park. "Still, there's something nice about the winter."

"Less people come to bother you when your land is cold and inhospitable."

A man wearing a uniform from the palace came running up to the two of us, completely out of breath.

They couldn't wait for us to come to them.
