"Are you sure your 'intel' is correct?" Erwin glanced over at me and then back out at the harbor.

"Maybe she ran into trouble with the corps?" Erwin was referring to the local law enforcement which patrolled areas near the coastline looking for- well- pirates.

"Listen she isn't like that at all," I rolled my eyes, "you guys just call her a pirate because none of our parents like her."

"That and she's a criminal."

OK BUT-

"It's not like she's pillaging random villages she just-" I paused, picking my words carefully, "breaks a lot of rules."

"She paid 2000 gold in fines just last month."

"OK ?? BUT SHE PAID THEM DIDN'T SHE ??? A PIRATE WOULD JUST AVOID THEM!"

"She wears an eyepatch."

"THAT'S FASHION NOT PIRACY."

"Both of you suck- I like her- and you'd be lying if you said that your parents wouldn't kill to have a contract with her. Piracy or not she's talented," I frowned, my eyes still trained on the horizon, searching for a familiar dark ship in the distance.

"No but- I've heard stories! From my father as well as people in town- I've got a pretty good idea of what sort of person she is, and well- I've decided that I like her."

"No wait-" Erwin leaned forward, peering out towards the horizon.

"I'M RIGHT- THAT HAS TO BE IT! IT'S HER SHIP- THE TITAN IS BACK," I jumped up- nearly hitting my head on the window frame, "COME ON WE CAN'T WASTE ANY TIME- SHE'S GOING TO BE BUSY AS SOON AS SHE GETS BACK!"

"Calm down Y/N-" Levi scolded, but even he seemed to be caught up in the excitement.

"It looks to be another 30 minutes out," Erwin squinted, measuring the distance.

"Do you think I should change? I never researched what kinds of clothes she likes-" I rambled on, jumping up and down in nervous excitement.

"You look like shit," Levi flipped me off.

"You look great Y/N," Erwin shot me a reassuring smile.

"This is why Erwin is my best friend and you're just an acquaintance Levi," I wrinkled my nose at him.

"We'd better get going," Erwin reminded me, already headed towards the door.

The bustling city streets- rushed by as the three of us ran down from the hill where my family home was located all the way down to the busy port.

"Lady Y/N!" A baker I frequented called out to me as I bounded past.

"CAN'T TALK NOW SASHA! SHE'S FINALLY HERE!"

The Titan, the main vessel of the locally known 'Captain's Fleet' was entering the harbor, no doubt holding countless treasures from her time out at sea.

"Don't just stand there awkwardly- go for it," Erwin nudged me forward.

"Don't totally embarrass yourself," Levi called out- giving me a hard shove away from the two of them.

"I'll see what I can do," he replied before bounding off in another direction.

that's the thing about the 'captain' she doesn't see just anyone-

it's part of the reason why it's so important that i'm able to strike a deal with her

if i could do something that even my father isn't able to- wouldn't that be proof enough?

Unfortunately for me, there was no real way of directly contacting her- and I wouldn't have any luck getting to her through my father.

"You're in luck," Connie came running back, "it's this way-" he gestured to the ship.

The two of us wove our way through the crowd until the Titan herself was mere feet away from me. Looking up my eyes met the intimidating visage of the captain as she looked down at me from the ship.

"When I heard there was a young lady looking for me I certainly didn't think it would be you," she called down, a teasing edge to her tone. "Welcome Lady Y/N," the way she stretched out the syllables seemed mocking in tone. "To what do I owe the honor? Or should I say- what did your father send you to ask about?"

I knew it
