Part 2
Soon, the virus had reached its target: Russia. As it continued to slice its way through the country, multiple copies were made and they branched off in different directions, each heading towards a different secret Russian military base.
The base cybersecurity was extremely hard to bypass, of course. But with the help of trillions of devices worldwide, it was easy. The virus punched straight through the firewall as though it was made out of paper and entered the system.
A world of bits and bytes spread out underneath the virus. It then began to replicate. Each replicated virus entered a different system and took hold of it, while not making itself noticed at all.
At about 2100, a guard noticed an automatic sliding door opening and closing rapidly. He walked towards it, staring at the misbehaving door. He reached for his walkie.
Suddenly, the power went out. The ex-Spetsnaz immediately whipped his tactical flashlight out and clicked it on while simultaneously drawing his MP-443 Grach pistol.
As he assessed the situation, there was a soft crack and he instinctively dropped to the ground. A hole was nicked into the wall right where his head was milliseconds ago.
The guard immediately realized what was happening. He aimed his gun and fired again and again. Suddenly, a loud bang echoed around the area and the guard went limp, blood trickling from a rounded hole in his head.
Out from the darkness that couldn't be reached by the guard's flashlight, a small tracked robot rolled out. A gun was attached to a swivel mount on its top. It silently rolled away, leaving the dead guard to the ground.
