[US] Chapter 19: Vivarivane Speech
Kalis Marry, after hearing Rober's explanation, nodded slightly, indicating her understanding.
"So, according to what you're saying" she replied, "it's possible that the boy's 'strong soul' is the reason why they became targets and were pulled into the 'white dream'?"
Rober nodded in confirmation.
"That's correct, madam. It wouldn't be strange if a cult, an organization, or some dark force wanted to exploit or seize the boy's soul for some purpose."
He paused for a moment, then continued, with a cautious tone:
"However, there's one thing that puzzles me. That is, why, after separating the boy's soul from his body, haven't they taken any further action? Several days have passed since the boy first fell into a coma, but it seems like they haven't taken the next step in their plan. This... is a bit strange."
"Is there a possibility" Rober continued, "that this is just a trap? A trap set to lure someone, or some force, into it?"
Kalis Marry agreed with Rober's reasoning. "You have a point, Rober" she said.
"With my position and influence, it's not hard to imagine that there are many enemies, or opposing forces, who want to harm or eliminate me. And, using Viscount Calos's son as 'bait' to lure me into a trap is a perfectly plausible plan."
She shrugged slightly, a confident and challenging smile on her face. "But, I'm not afraid" she said.
"I'm very much looking forward to seeing who is bold enough to dare to set a trap for me. If he really wants to lure me in, then I'll go. And, I'm sure it will be very interesting!"
Rober, faced with Kalis's confidence and belligerence, could only smile, taking it as a kind of joke, a way for her to express her self-assurance. He knew that Kalis Marry was not only the headmistress of the Royal Academy, but also one of the most powerful mages in the kingdom, a person of high standing in the Council of the Egoless Mages, a magical organization with great power.
Kalis asked, "What should we do next?"
Rober gave a confident smile:
"Of course, we go find the children. I have a type of magic called 'Yin-Yang Eye.' It allows me to see the forms of souls, things that the naked eye cannot see."
"However" he continued, "this magic has a limitation. With my current level of magical energy, I can't extend the range of observation of the 'Yin-Yang Eye' too far. I can't scan the entire forest in a short period of time. Therefore, finding the souls of the children will take a lot of time and effort."
He paused for a moment, then said, with a sly smile:
"Perhaps... for this, I'll have to ask for Madam Marry's help."
Kalis Marry, after hearing Rober's explanation, asked:
"What do you want me to do? Do you want me to learn that 'Yin-Yang Eye' spell, or... are you planning to use that magic directly on me?"
Rober smiled and replied, "Madam, I can use the 'Yin-Yang Eye' directly on you. This method will not be limited by my amount of magical energy. And, after it's activated, you can use your own magical energy to maintain and enhance its effectiveness."
Kalis Marry nodded, showing her satisfaction.
"Alright" she said. "I agree. Go ahead."
Rober, receiving Kalis's consent, said, "I'm very grateful, madam." He began to perform the magic.
But, this time, he didn't just perform the actions silently, like previous times. He explained verbally, as he went, about what he was doing.
Rober raised his hand and began to draw symbols in the air. These symbols were not ordinary writing. They were formed from Rober's magical energy and emitted a faint, shimmering, ethereal blue light.
"This is the Vivarivane language" Rober explained, "a language belonging to the Vital Pantheon."
He continued to speak, drawing the symbols and chanting incantations in the Vivarivane language:
"Oza, vezir liyama. Vezir saral varen yama ek zerin. Iza velar enzir ramal tasir ven ek varan izen raval, evarek zeral, oza."
Rober did this because he wanted Kalis Marry to feel at ease. For someone to allow another person to cast magic directly on their body was a very sensitive act and required absolute trust.
When Rober finished drawing the symbols and reciting the incantation, the symbols suddenly moved, rearranged themselves, and merged together, forming the image of a giant, blue eye, hovering in the air.
Kalis Marry, seeing the eye, said softly: "This magic seems different from the previous time, doesn't it?"
Rober nodded in confirmation. "That's right, Madam Marry" he said. "This time, I'm using this magic to affect another person, not myself. Therefore, I had to change some details in the incantation and in the method of execution, to ensure safety and effectiveness."
He didn't forget to praise Kalis: "Indeed, Madam Marry, just by looking once, you noticed the difference."
Kalis Marry smiled, showing her satisfaction with Rober's praise. "You always surprise me, Rober" she said. "Until now, I've only done what I was taught, never changing a spell, because changing spells often leads to trouble, so that's the job of those who specialize in research. I wonder if you are someone who is passionate about magical research?"
"Ha ha, I'm just a guy who likes to read books!"
The Yin Yang Eye soon formed, slowly floating towards Kalis Marry. Rober said:
"Madam, you can close your eyes. But, if you want, you can keep them open. This won't cause any pain or discomfort."
Kalis Marry shook her head and replied, "It's alright. I want to see."
The magical eye slowly floated closer, approaching Kalis Marry's left eye, and then disappeared.
